I love the staff! They're so good Norm & Jerry! Their rates are so much more reasonable than our last vet, AND the accept Care Credit. Care Credit is a credit card for health services that charge 0% interest if the bill is paid on time.

Took my cat here he had been vomitingthe drs asst was very very rude and argued with me as i told her earlier when she asked while my cat was sedated if they could give him a antibiotic shot as my son heard the whole conversation as well i told her yes..i go to pick him up the dr came in we talked then i asked the asst did they give his shot as i didn't see it on our bill..she was angry and irritated she had to print another bill off because they didn't add a medication on.she informed me they couldn't do the shot because it was too late since i was in talking with the dr and took so long lol mind you yes he came in to talk to me about my cat and his health that I PAID FOR..she said he's already out of sedation i tried to explain to her even my son heard me tell her at least 3 times to give him the antibiotic shot if that's what they think he needsLord, that lady would not stop arguing and arguing telling me demanding that i never told her earlier and that i had waited last minute which was a liei even told her i know they have alot of animals and it gets busy maybe she didn't remember or whatever the case may be but she did not want to hear that tried to over talk me and kept arguing..i think she didn't want to mess with my cat because he was scared and nervous or She simply forgot and tried to cover it up..but my son heard our whole conversation because i wanted to make it clear whatever they thought we needed to do let's do it because he had been vomiting profusely..i had never been treated like that esp in a Supposedly professional business..i simply told her i could accept and had no problem if she forgot or if She misunderstood but when you argue and talk crazy to me and tell me what i said and i didn't..well i will simply not tolerate thatmy son was even shocked as to how she was acting heard her when he was on the phone with me.smh i will never go back! Totally unprofessional don't listen she was crazy as all get out Can't believe our experience therefound a new vet asap..as taking your animal and their sickness isn't stressful enough to deal with then you have to deal with gangsta boo.

I took my long haired Chihuahua named Killer to him after he was attacked by another dog. He was in pretty bad shape. Dr. Baumgart and his staff took really great care of him. The prices are affordable and the staff was very caring. I No longer will take my dogs anywhere but to him and highly recommend him to everyone who has animals.

I'd give zero stars if I could, because that's what they gave us. Zero. Walked in with my dog and they told us that the doctor is out for at least two hours on lunch. What the heck? You can't claim to be open but also be closed to two hours in the middle of the day. Don't go here, if they cared about animals they wouldn't have done that.

If I could give them negative stars I would. It all started when if anytime I called them to ask how my dog was the caught and attitude like I was bothering them because I am worried about my what I consider as a child. Then comes 4 days later when It comes time to pick her up. Mind you there jobs is to take care of my animals. When I go to get her in mid piss thus women picks her up and scolds her he peeing. So in turn my dog pees on her self and this women. So the women gets mad. I find this unprofessional for a place that I gave $700.00 to.

Dr. Baumgart is great with pets and offers great services at an affordable rate. In addition to the best pet care in town, they offer grooming and boarding which many places don't. Our entire family have trusted Southport Pet Hospital with our pets health for years and we will never go anywhere else!

Love them! Took our older male cat to them a couple years ago and they were great with him from moment one. They were caring and loving and helped us identify how to change his diet a little to help increase his water intake and make him healthier overall. Recently had our female cat become sick and after an emergency appt somewhere else came back here for follow up. Though there isn't anything we can do to 'fix' her illness they have been very supportive through the process, answering multiple phone calls, and spending a lot of time just talking us through what to do at each step, without causing financial distress and charging us for tests that are not going to help or find an answer. I love this office!

They take your dog in back and inject them with medicine without asking your permission. Then try to charge 80$ for it. They are cheap up front because they nickel and dime you. They don't care about you as a pet owner and what you're going thru. (My dog has congestive heart failure and is on $100 per month worth of medication) I'm finding a new vet. If you go here, check your bill thoroughly. Especially, if you've told them that you don't want your dog to have something. (They'll give it to him anyway and try to charge you)

Small, not fancy, place. Good, caring people. They even do house calls and have pick-up and return when needed.

My wife and took our cat snuggles in cause she wasn't eating and being very lathargic. Now when we first arrived the staff was friendly. But the vet tech Sheryl seemed very pushy after we told her we had fleas last year but they went away after we moved to Indy. As soon as she heard that I think she just heard dollars in her ears cause she just kept feeding us more and more stuff for us to pay for. So I paid 200 to get all the tests that I thought were necessary. So we picked her up about an hour later and said they couldn't get her to pee so they couldn't do the urine analysis. So they gave me a cup so I can do it at home. Well I took the cup in this morning. Well I haven't heard anything all day so my wife called a half hour before they closed. And they said oh yeah she has a bladder infection. Why wouldn't you call me earlier in the day. So they said she needed biotics. So we just went and picked up the biotics and they said we didn't pay for the flea medicine yesterday. That we need to pay for that. Well that should of been charged to me yesterday. But I paid it anyway. And then Sheryl said did you do anything for the fleas. No because my cat doesn't have fleas. I've been down here for almost a year and I have 2 dogs and the cat. I brush them regularly and I never see anything on them. I even checked my cat after we brought her home and nothing. Sheryl was very rude and stormed out of the room. Very unprofessional. I will definitely not be returning to this vet and all of you should stay away from Southport animal hospital. They care about the money, not our animals.
