This is a fun environment with great food hidden away in Center Grove. The Pizza Buffet is a great way to get acquainted with their flavor, but I recommend exploring the whole menu.

Buffet thin crust was good. Deep dish was OK, but not great as it got cold. Salad bar is decent.

if you plan on take out or delivery read this important tip..

Do yourself a favor and order it "uncut". which means all the liquid from the sauce and grease won't find it's way to the bottom and make the crust soggy. cut it before you eat it at home, it will taste completely different.

If the owner reads this it might be a good suggestion to have your employees offer that when taking orders. anyways, enjoy.

After our server picked up a menu from the floor and set it on our table for my son to use, I really considered going next door to get fast food burgers. In hindsight that would've been a good idea. Our sandwiches (hot ham & cheese and Italian beef) were not quickly served, and our server seemed inconvenienced by our presence. As I paid our bill, I told my son I didn't think we'd be back again. I'm certain 3 employees heard me, but none made any effort to retain a customer. There are plenty of other good places with pleasant servers nearby for us next time.

Went in on Sunday night, it seemed pretty slow as far as customersWe arrived at about 6:15 and food didn't reach our table until 7:00pm. When we inquired as to why it took so long for two sandwiches, one of the wait staff said it wasn't turned in until 6:45pm. and they were short staffed. The girl who waited on us seemed very inexperienced and almost confused by everything She might need a little bit more training. The food was sub par as well. I ordered an Italian beef and it came with just beef.no onions, no peppersjust beef. I had also ordered cheeseno cheesei had to ask for that after, and same with mayo. We ended up just asking for boxes and i took my sandwich home so i could add the usual items that come on an actual italian beef sandwich there.

To the owners responsethis is what an Italian beef should look likeAlso see the pics on your website. It should have onions and peppers.not at ALL what i got. I did ask for cheese cause i like cheese on the italian beef.

First of all, the Chicago Style pizza was amazing. The on the top sauce had a flavor which really gave the pizza a unique taste. The garlic bread and Chicago nuggets were very good too. We had excellent service for the entirety of our meal. We look forward to going back to try the deep dish pizza!

We decided to get an early dinner at SOC today. We walked in and had to sit in the back of he restaurant due to majority of the tables dirty from previous guest. Our server was nice, and took care of us the best she could being the only one there. However, as we were ending our visit the hostess said something to us that was not appropriate. With majority of the tables being dirty a party of 6 had to come to the back by us to be seated. As the hostess walked by our table she asked us "Could I kick you guys out so I can seat them?" We were almost finished with our visit, but my boyfriend still had a full beer and we were enjoying our visit. Our server over head the hostess and did applogize several times. It's a shame because the pizza was good, but cannot see myself giving SOC anymore of my service.

If I could give no stars I would. Showed up with my family at 8:15 to enjoy an evening of pizza together. The employees let us walk in, ask about the patio seating, and then sit outside for at least 20 minutes before my mother in law walked inside to ask about menus and drinks that never came, only to be told they're actually closed at 8pm instead of 10pm. Neither of the 3 employees standing around had the decency or common sense to let us know what was going on. Most rude and inconsiderate customer service we've ever received. Thanks for not supporting your troops and veterans you lazy bums. I'll never come back again. And word to the owner, try and post a response defending your failure staff that you call employees. Save yourself the embarrassment of trying to find an excuse.

Overall a positive experience. Will go back to try new things.

Pros: service was a 4, food was a 3(at least what I got), portions are massive, price was fair
Cons: some things were tacky and could be fixed (Christmas lights around windows, plastic baskets and to-go ramekins, cardboard under pizza when served), barbecue sauce could be improved, would love to see a brick oven or better pizza oven to get a nice crispy crust on the thin pizza

A Chicago sports theme franchise looking place. Good, prompt service for peak time, a good selection of craft beers and the usual flavorless lite beers (some of each on draught).
The New York style, thin crust supreme pizza was very good. The pizza was much better than almost everywhere I've tried in the Indy area and well worth the trip.

Outstanding far-south location of underrated local chain. The food is incredible, portions generous, prices fair. The staff is always fast, friendly, and attentive. Deep dish pizza takes a while to cook but that's how it works. Dining room is clean and spacious. Lots of Chicago decorations and sports screens and jazz playing. I personally would have preferred the TV basketball games, plural, have been muted so we could hear the jazz.

The breadsticks were not good at all. They have that very dense, thick texture. The top of them had been soaked in an oily garlic butter that, didn't have a bad flavor, but I couldn't get past the ridiculous denseness of them. When the pizza arrived at the table, it looked like it was gonna be really good. Not the case. The pizza sauce had an overwhelming tomato flavor. The dough was not bad, however, when it started to cool off, it had a gritty texture to it. The service was pretty good and they were very friendly. My overall thoughts are, it's not a place that I would return to.

This is our 2nd time to visit South Of Chicago Pizza. It was very good both times. I love the salad bar just need to add some broccoli and cauliflower to it😊. I want to try the breakfast buffet sometime. Do u cater for wedding rehearsals? The wedding is a year away but I would like to have the rehearsal dinner here.
