This has been one of my family's favorite places to eat for the last few years. However when the CEO was changed to the Old McDonald's guy they messed a bunch of stuff up on the menu like taking away the pineapple steaks and homeade chips and burnt ends sandwich and the super great corn muffins. They finally brought back all of the removed items, but we completely broke our cycle of coming a couple of times a week(I was eating lunch once or twice a week also) . Now that they have everything back we have tried to come, but just forget about them. Now we have tried twice this week to come, and they have started closing earlier. I believe we are going to just give up on trying to give you our money. We love your food.

Friendly staff, clean facility. We had the sampler platter. The boneless chicken is dry and the the best sauce from the bunch would be the Rich and sassy. The tarter sauce is good. Best catfish I've had, chicken tenders are perfect. The ribs are ok.

Food quality is good. Waitress really lacked experience. Waitress over 30 minutes for check and never got a drink refill.

One order incorrect meal. Had to ask 3 different servers for condiments that were requested with the initial order. Ordered 2nd beer that was never served.

Absolutely scrumptious! And the portions are HUGE! So much to choose from. You cannot go wrong. Definitely a must try!

The food was great. The service however was not great. I was here around 3:30ish. The place was not that busy. I ordered my drink and waited longer than what should be expected for a nearly empty place. When my food was delivered, my order was wrong. My server must have had a bad day, cuz he did not seem very happy.

The food was great. Service was day and attentive. It was a great experience. Devil's Spit is the best sweet and spicy sauce!! Delightful BBQ with calm and laid-back atmosphere.

We waited almost 2 hours and then when our food arrived it was wrong and cold. We ended up leaving. The waitress lied to us as well as the so called manager.

This particular Famous Dave's gave exceptional service great food. Absolutely nothing to complain about. Highly recommend this store! Famous Tanya is doing a good job!

My husband and I waited for an hour to get our food. My husband was upcharged for a meal that did not include what he wanted. I have always enjoyed my experience, but will not be returning. My bill was $40

I have always been a fan of Famous Daves. But I was extremely surprised on my last visit. Granted I have not been there in a couple years. But I was very dissapointed in them. First the food was very good as usual. There were litteraly only 10 fries on my platter when it was served. I normally order the Saint Louis ribs or the BBQ chicken. The ribs the last time I was there were 20 dollars for a full slab now they are 25 dollars a slab. No matter how good they are they are not worth that kind of money. City BBQ is much cheaper and very good. Also they stopped giving corn on the cob with a dinner platter. Very sad. Also I found out that they no longer give a free dinner to anyone named Dave on their birthday. That was dissapointing seeing my name is Dave. The service was great. The blues music was great. But the food was dissapointing. I was there during the dinner rush and the parking lot was almost empty. If they don't make some change we will lose our Famous Daves on the southside.

I Will never eat at Famous Dave's ever again. Spent nearly 4 hours here for lunch. I'm still here right now writing this review. 4 hours for lunch and most of it was spent waiting for the waiter to #1 take our order and #2 get our checks so we could pay and leave.
We literally didn't get to order until we had been seated for some 40 minutes. The waiter said, I'll be back to get your order in just a minute, 30 minutes later, he finally came back. At that point, we should've just walked out. It wasn't like the place was busy, he was only waiting on us and 1 other small table but still 40 minutes into sitting down we were finally allowed to order. 45 minutes later, we finally have the appetizer we ordered. Our waiter never once came by to check on us during that time. No refills, no "everyone doing ok". I had to wave him down from out of the kitchen he was standing in to get a refill on tea. No attentiveness whatsoever. We've now been here for roughly 1.5 hours and we're still waiting on our main entree. Another 25 minutes goes by and we finally get our Lunch orders, literally 3 ribs, a side of mashed potatoes, a corn muffin for me and a barbecue chicken sandwich for my wife.
2 hours in we can finally start eating lunch. It takes us roughly 30-40 minutes to eat and again, have to wave the guy down for refills on our drinks. On top of that, the food was generic. Nothing outstanding about this barbecue at all. The do nothing different, nothing unique. You might as well eat at Mcdonalds and dip your food in barbecue sauce, exact same concept here.
Once we finished eating, it becomes apparent the waiter is never coming back to our table unless we wave him over. At the 3 hour mark, we wave him over to ask about the check. It took 30 minutes to get out check and another 20 to get it paid after there was an error on the bill, go figure.
Spent an entire Sunday afternoon, sitting at famous daves trying to have lunch. Absolutely terrible experience for sub par food. I'm ever so happy to wave famous daves off of my list of places to eat. It was literally after 5 by the time we left. Never again famous dave's, never again. I would never in a million years recommend people to eat here, in fact, I'm going to do just the opposite. I will encourage people to never eat at famous dave's because of this ridiculous experience. I never write reviews for places ever, but I had no choice for this one. There's not a single redeeming note for this place.
My only hope is that someone reads this and decides not to eat here. Save yourselves the frustration and the sub par food and service.
