2 hour motorcycle ride each way for me but what an amazing adventure it was. We didn't have long at the park but I'm planning a return visit for sure. Next trip I think I'll come for the weekend and stay in a cabin or lodge so we can spend more time hiking the trails and exploring all this beautiful park has to offer.
The bbq sandwich at the lodge was awesome as well, highly recommend!

The most attractive part of the park is blackwater falls. One of the wonders of nature and yes the water is really black. Some streams of falls appeared to be blackish tea colour and for the first time in my life I marveled at the color of water. The falls are very strong. There are different view points of the falls and they looked amazingly beautiful from each view point. The park is a good hiking area as well. As we visited the park during winter could not make the hiking but really could enjoy the black falls. We didn't face any problem in parking and is free

Gorgeous, gorgeous state park. I went with my family last fall. It wasn't overly crowded, which was nice. They have a nice gift shop and concession area. The views are outstanding. There's alot of beauty to see there. The deer were so tame they walked right up to our truck to say hello. We got some beautiful pictures!

We love the park, the accommodations are nice, big and bright. We booked this cottage because we wanted a place with a hot tub and a pool. When we arrived a sign said it was not working. We asked for a refund but were refused and the manager had stepped out. We are waiting on a manager to call us and speak with one. The place is beautiful. We would love to stay but after driving 8 hours and specifically booking a place with a hot tub and pool we are disappointed in the treatment that we have received so far.

After speaking with the manager the next day everything was great. He was hospitable, understanding and very kind. We would return to this place.

This was a nice stay. Very secluded. The staff is awesome and can't do enough for you. The lodge common areas are nice and cozy and fit the ambiance of the location. The rooms are somewhat dated, bathrooms small and no counter space but, again, the rooms are clean and quiet.

This park was so beautiful. Enjoyed looking at the falls with my family, the walkway was well maintained and my 8 and 5 year old had no problem on it! The waterfall was super impressive. Loved the other overlooks as well.

A very nice place to visit. I do wish there was more there. looking at both sides of the falls is probably your best bet. I'm a biggining photographer and I got some great shots.

There's only one place that I love more than this one. I feel so alive when I come here, because I have so many great memories of the time that I spent here when I was younger. I would suggest this place to anyone who loves nature and wants to see the best place in WV.

One of West Virginia's most beautiful state parks, the views were spectacular! The descent and climb back up were a little grueling but then I am 75 years old. The lodge is lovely, the pool refreshing. Camp grounds and facilities are well maintained. I would recommend to all ages.

Nice park with a cool waterfall in it. If you want to see the waterfall you better be able to walk up and down a whole bunch of stairs. They have a souvenir shop and a small snack stand you can get ice cream, drinks and some other food from.

Great getaway it was quiet while we were there, guessing weekends are busier. The falls are beautiful, you get a good workout going to see them but not too hard, we'll maintained steps. The lodge was by no means new or modern but fit our needs, my only complaint would be fighting the shower curtain, so those new bowed bars would be good.

Beautiful and majestic falls! Definitely a worthy place to visit with family. Provides good options to hike and camp too. Btw they have nice science center too.

Rustic cabin accommodations or stay in the lodge. Beautiful views of mountains, waterfalls, forests. Tranquil setting with good outdoor activities. We'll maintained hiking trails were not overly used. Restaurant in lodge had good food, but nothing fancy. Cabin was clean and comfortable. I will return there for another visit.

I've been going here since I was young. It's a great place for anyone looking to relax and get away. Renting a cabin is definitely the way to go. I'd recommend the older cabins, as they're closer to the trails. I also love going into the nearby towns to shop. A very relaxing vacation and beautiful getaway!
