A place where you can still walk in with a 20 and get a few drinks. A fine little stable of craft drafts; I was very happy with my $5 Edmund Fitzgeralds last visit. Wisecracking, swift service at the bar. Homey, unassuming vibe. Good music often on vinyl from the copious collection behind the bar. They played the same Talking Heads record the last 2 times I was there--maybe I'll get lucky and they'll play it next time, too. And the menu happens to be pretty great, too (low-key comfort food). Whenever I walk in, I breathe out a nice sigh of reliefAHHHHHH.

Still one of my favorite bars in the immediate area. Cheap drinks that are cash only and a great kitchen that is open late. Make sure to get tater tots and a side of ranch. Bonus points if you order one and leave it out just to watch the drunkards randomly stagger over and take a few bites. Definitely worth it for people watching.

By the looks of this place, you would have no idea if they serve food. Almost question the quality. But dont be fooled, their specials menu is what why I travel here. Most popular food item is tater tots! Order your food through a separate person and not the bartender. The draft beers unfortunately don't change as often, the regulars can give ya a cold shoulder, but the shot pours are 👌

Non pretentious, no nonsense bar. One of my favorite bars in the entire city because it has one of the most underrated beer programs.. you can get seasonal craft beer here for about 2 - 3 dollars cheaper than anywhere else. Just do go in here trying to order cocktails.. That's not their thing, the food specials menu is where its at!

Awesome food, atmosphere and drink specials. I never carry cash so I was taken aback by it being a cash only establishment.

It's a neighborhood bar where the regulars change according to the hour. I'm in the dinner time group and love their food, especially the burgers. Tots are great and I groove to the homemade pickles. There's a talented, caring cook in that kitchen. I'm not a big drinker, but I understand the bar selection is good. My single beer is always great.

Awesome beer selection (not in number of options, but in quality of options.) Excellently priced. Great low-key atmosphere. Reasonable volume inside so conversations could be had. Was there on a Saturday night and it wasn't crowded; was able to easily get a table. The grilled cheese sandwich was freaking delicious. Only knock was that service was a little slow to get to me initially, but then came around at the right pace. Cash-only.

A hip spot with food and drank. Cash only. Make sure you order off the specials menu if you get food cause that's where all the good stuff is. It can get kind of crowded on busy nights, tables are first come first serve.

Classic Chicago 'dive bar' with good comfort food and solid drinks, reminder: they are cash only but do have an atm inside.

Yeah their floor isn't level and it's a little dark/dingy, but it has character and is worth checking out.

Cool hipster divebar with great appetizers and decent drinks. For the price you can't go wrong, just don't expect fancy. It can be a bit loud & packed, so not a chill place necessarily. Great place for a group outing!

This place has great prices on craft beer. Beer menu is not the most exciting but everything is tried and true classics. Food is a pretty standard list of sandwiches with a few specials and tots instead of fries. This place gets a bit crowded--seemingly at random--but it's never too bad. My only complaint is there's an occasional draft that seems a bit flat. I always just ask what's new to avoid that problem.

It's cash only, but so much cheaper than other Pilsen bars. Their food is fantastic! I go here for dinner at least once a week, and it's not the typical bar fare, though they do have burgers and tots if that's your thing. The only downside is the toilet like odor in the air, but you get used to it pretty quickly-it's a dive after all.
