More of a bar atmosphere. Fried scored flounder is excellent. Broiled platter was good but the shrimp were on the small side and I didn't care for the filling in the stuffed fish. The red rice was a no. Service and staff were great.

Terrific place! Food plentiful and DELICIOUS! Chef Brad Blake is to be commended! Our waiter, Jamie, was very attentive and professional while being very friendly too. Since I have severe food allergies, he made sure my order and meal were correct, which I truly appreciate!!!

My birthdayjust myself and spouse. Absolutely HEAVENLY weather and the experience could NOT BE ANY BETTER! Our server was Ashley C. Every thing was utterly perfect, she stopped back enough times so we never felt neglected, AND not so often that could be intrusive. Did special things to enhance our experienceAshley may be new, but she is quite definitely a superbly talented server! The food, oh, the food!! Fish sandwich appeared to have been so fresh it was caught this morning. Seafood Chowder par excellence! Even the salsa, guacamole and chips are the best in town. And the bartender made my Bloody Mary's precisely to orderalways perfect here!! Have been coming to Skull Creek Boathouse for 25 yearshas ALWAYS been great, but better than EVER now. Our entire large family, (who live out of town now) always eat at least one meal there every visitsometimes more!! Thanks for hiring top-notch server!! And always a wonderful chef and staff!! PS the hostess who took us to our table was charming also.

Delicious food , very surprised if you want something other than traditional seafood options. Veggie rice bowl and black bean burger are both fantastic.
Great service. Extensive wine selection, average beer options for area.
Highly recommended and can’t beat the view with outdoor seating

A quality place to enjoy good company, food, and the island vibe. Wide selection of seafood with both local options and classics, sure to please everyone. Live music and an amazing outdoor space make this place a great place to spend a night out. Food was well prepared, though definitely pricey. Service was excellent, and deserts were to die for.

The food and service in the restaurant were terrible. We had a party of 17 (half kids) and no one in the entire group said their food was good. The shrimp had a chemical taste to it. The pasta was drowned in oil. The wings were decent. The waitress was less than pleasant and tried to deliver appetizers that we didn't order. The only reason I gave it two stars is because the outside area was a good experience. The girl at the outside bar was super friendly and should be commended for doing a great job. This was on Sunday evening, 3 September 2017.

Tried to go here around 7pm on a Tuesday, 2 1/2-3 hour wait. It was drizzling a little and the place was packed. Left and went somewhere else but thought, wow place is busy must be good. Came back today, 4:30 on a Friday, got a seat inside right away. Ordered the low country boil with high expectations and just crashed and burned. Tiny, undercooked, flavorless shrimp. Had buffalo dip and chips, chips were burnt and dip was also pretty bland. Don't know why this place is so busy. Views were okay, service was decent, food is not recommended. Just eat somewhere else.

Off the charts great seafood- well worth the wait to be seated! Casual and friendly, great service. I ordered the crab legs and they were excellent, well cooked and flavored. My friend got the bacon wrapped shrimp and loved it. This place was very family friendly, too. We saw lots of large groups here for special occasions. I was expecting something just "touristy" but this was clearly a local favorite, and for good reason.

This will be my second review. I have to mention this because if I don't I could never explain what great customer service this establishment strives to achieve. After posting my first review, which I deleted, management, Chris, contacted me, as they were very concerned about my experience. I have never had a restaurant contact me after a review, so they get 10 stars for customer service. They asked us if we would give them another try. We decided we would as the locals love this establishment!!! Not only did they do a great job with the meal tonight, as crab cake was delicious, my scallops were cooked just right and my husband loved his catfish, the waitress, Kelly had perfect timing with all dishes. A great waitress indeed. Mike was also very thoughtful. We had a wonderful dinner experience tonight. When we return, we will definitely go back! Best view in Hilton Head!!!!

Due to the large crowd, we were able to grab 3 spots at the bar, even with our 4 year old! The food and service was great! The sweet ladies at the bar were sweet with our son!!

This is a fun place to eat inside or out we enjoyed a beautiful sunset while waiting for our table. We sat around the bonfire in talk with other people from other places. The food was good lots of choices.

We love this restaurant. They have an extensive seafood menu and an awesome outdoor seating area. There is usually a wait but there is plenty to do while you wait-- a beer garden, a shop to browse in, and games to play outside. The view is quite lovely as well.

Wanted to enjoy a nice dinner for two however one meal was fine and the other meal cold. Server was very apologetic and returned meal to reheat which left one with a meal and one with nothing awkward. Manager returned with warmed meal after an extended time and joked about it. That did not make for a pleasant dining experience. Also, we were the last ones seated outside on a slightly cool evening (my bad, though I didn't state a preference either way, I should have requested indoor seating since there were so many open tables inside), by the time we got the second meal we were the only persons at the outdoor dining area. Food was good, but overall it was an unpleasant dining experience.

Great brunch menu! Great lunch and dinner overall. Very limited sushi, mostly American style (you know, fried and cream cheese) with very little traditional raw fish, rice, and veggies sushi on the menu. Great views! Reasonable prices. Attentive and friendly service. Good for kids during the day. Awkward barstools to get positioned in, comfortable once you have it in the right place. Clean and nice inside and out. Heaters outside for winter.
