I highly recommend a weekend retreat at the ashram!! The staff was amazing. Everyone was so welcoming and conscious of our needs at all times. The rooms were very clean and beds are comfortable. Bathrooms looked to be recently renovated which was nice. You can’t beat the location. The views are breathtaking! I also really enjoyed immersing myself in the yogi Hindu way of life. It was a great learning experience!

No rating will compare to the amazing EXPERIENCE i had at the Sivananda Yoga Ranch, just the thought of it itself fills me up with JOY and EXCITEMENT! I couldn't arrive to the retreat before 9pm, i called to find out if it was still possible do reserve. they were willing to stay up late to receive me. it just couldn't get any better! I arrived at almost 1am! they went beyond just to make sure i have a great experience!

A place where i could simply BE. Funny thing, i imagined myself going to the retreat a few weeks before. It was my first and only choice, the place was calling me and i was responding. the same week of my birthday i looked up Sivananda on Goolge and came across the groupon offer! Gosh it was so emotional for me! I felt the LOVE! Being in the retreat gave me the space and time to FEEl, to BE, to APPRECIATE last but not least to CONNECT! You can feel all the love from all the members of of the community, even from the guest. the food is AMAZING! the NATURE walk! the CHANTING! the MEDITATION! You want to uplift your spirit, this is the place to go! Thank you everyone for all the LOVE i received!

Visiting the Yoga Ranch and Ashram was a life-changing experience for me. I found an inner peace and knowledge that I didn't know existed. The staff and instructors are all so compassionate and kind, and the information and experiences you participate in truly have the capacity to lead you into living at a higher vibration.
The lodging is modest but clean, the vegetarian meals are excellent and very flavorful! The grounds are beautiful (even in the winter) and there is a peace that surrounds the area which is tangible and created by the many yogis and visitors practicing strength of self, inner calm, and positive mindfulness.
This is not a typical "vacation retreat". This is a mindful retreat if you are willing to looking deeper into yourself for purpose and peace and willing to participate, not be pampered. I loved it!

I found the Yoga Ranch the ideal back drop for Yoga practices. The gardens, manicured lawns, fresh air. Perfect for Asana practice as well as breathing exercises. The Ranch is staffed with beautiful Yogis, that lend to the contemplative atmosphere so conducive to meditation and concentration . The organic food, much grown in the gardens, tended lovingly by knowledgeable Yogis. Was prepared with grace and simpkicity. A thoroughly lovely retreat . Spend the day the week a month it is sure to leave a lasting impression..♥

I had such a wonderful experience at the Sivananda Ashram. I attended a retreat hosted at the Ashram and what a special place for it. There are dorms but I decided to camp in a tent. The surroundings are so beautiful I couldn't resist the opportunity to be out in nature. Rising early for morning meditation was a fun break from the norm for me. I started each day looking forward to this new routine. Also, it was a great way to start the day. I felt grounded and open. The yoga classes are challenging for the experienced yogi but very accessible to those who are new to the practice. There is a Russian sauna and I highly recommend using it when you can. The food was also amazing. The meals are all vegetarian and all delicious. I'd go back just for the food.

If you are new to yoga, the daily routine can be a little intimidating and rigorous, but I encourage you to stick with it. I stayed at the ashram for 3 days and it felt like a month. My body was certainly tired from the yoga and sitting on the floor for an hour and a half at a time but even so, I participated in all the daily events and it wasn't until I got home where I could really feel a difference in myself. For the food, they do an excellent job making healthy meals and they don't cook with eggs, garlic, or onion so that's probably why others think it tastes bland. I personally can't wait to revisit in the summer!

My time at the Sivananda Yoga Ranch was life-changing. The meditation, yoga and breathing classes were challenging and joyful. The fresh, delicious vegan meals were prepared with love. The pastoral setting in Woodbourne is tranquil and you have to see the sunrises! Stunning! I left the ashram feeling clear, calm and confident in my new path of seeking peace within. I am so grateful to Swami Satyapremananda, Swami Paramananda, Srinivasan and the whole Karma Yoga crew for their guidance and kindness.

I really love the yoga routines and the exercises are really beneficial. Everyone is just so happy and friendly that it feels like one big happy family.it is a great place but I have to say the accomodations were ridiculously small and the food was quite tasteless, even if it was healthy. Overall it was a good experience but could definitely be better.
