Went today to have some warranty work, tire rotation and inspection done. We were impressed with the staff, the time they said our van would be ready, the waiting room, even had a shuttle that offered us a ride if we wanted to go somewhere. Thanks for treating us so good when we bought our van and for today.
I pulled up to the service department about 8 am, there were about 10 people in front of me. The man who helped me was so polite. He took me into the waiting room, and told me it would be about an 2 1/2 wait. That was not true! I was out about 9:30. I had my whole Saturday cleared thinking I would be there all morning. I live in Roanoke and I will drive out there to get my van worked on every time. I got the same customer service that I did when I bought my van. Nice, clean, polite and quick.
Expect to wait 2, or 3 plus hours. Even for a basic service. They will try to sell you everything they can. Every time I go apparently I need new wiper blades and cabin filters. Every time I have been there I have to put at least an extra quart of oil in my car. As the check oil light comes on a couple day after leaving. Never had a good experience after buying 2 cars there.
Shelor Service Department sadly took advantage of a family member. The service department representative did an awful job of communicating with both my family member and myself when called daily for updates on the vehicle's progress. We were told we would be given up update by the service representative on a Friday, when we called for an update that member was not working that day and no progress had been made on the vehicle.
We were told that a replacement part was ordered and the vehicle would be ready on Monday. On Monday we called to find out that the vehicle part had never even been ordered. The service department had this vehicle for 8 days before it was repaired.
We called and requested to speak with a manger regarding our unhappiness with the service and only got as far as his secretary. We asked for a call back from a manager and over a week has passed and we have not been contacted. I DO NOT RECOMMEND HAVING YOUR VEHICLE SERVICED AT THIS FACILITY.
I was extremely disappointed with my experience at the Shelor service department.
My wife and I just bought two cars, neither from Shelor but that's a different issue. I was taking our cars in for an inspection sticker (bought them out of state). I have always preferred a dealership to a small garage simply because I trust the mechanics to know what they're doing and I had believed them to be less sketchy in general. With Shelor that is not the case. While in the waiting room I witnessed someone from the garage come out and started talking to the woman beside me about her car, she was also getting an inspection. The woman from Shelor said "I have bad news, we can't pass the car for inspection because of the tires. The thing is that we can't let you leave here with those tires, they're too dangerous." She proceeded to quote the customer with an absurd price for four tires and the labor of putting them on. The customer told her that the price was ridiculous and the employee kept on with the "we can't let you leave" stuff until I finally pulled up an article about this type of scam on my phone and showed the customer and the Shelor employee. The customer was furious, as she should be, and demanded they pull up her car at once and she left. I complained to management though I'm sure they're already aware of what goes on, they may even encourage it.
Despicable practices, a dealership or mechanic doesn't have the authority to keep you from leaving with your own property. This is nothing but a ploy to overcharge you for services and replacement parts. I will never get service here again and would certainly never buy a car from these people.
I had a check engine light on, they told me I needed a new fuel tank pressure sensor. I called my local mechanic and found out these guys wanted to charge double what it should have cost to fix! No thank you! These guys give you speed but sacrifice quality and affordability.
Great experience! They took my car in I waited for about 40 minutes and my car was done. This was a fast oil change. Everyone was very nice and the waiting area was very clean with coffee and snacks available
Great service. People who work there are very knowledgeable and friendly especially Stacey Arnold.
I went recently for an inspection sticker. The sticker was expired, my car was a mess, and after a long night of being up with my baby I was not at my best either. Although it was a pretty small job for them, they made me feel like my business was appreciated and like I was paying for a fortunes worth of work. Every single person I interacted with was above and beyond friendly and helpful and I will definitely go back there versus somewhere else because of the exceptional customer service I received.
I usually have great service here. my family have all bought our cars here. today I waited in line for express service for oil change. after about 20 minutes a worker came out and had me get in another lane. by time I was helped 3 cars that came before me got to before me. I waited 45 minutes til someone helped me.
Took car in for my free oil change from having bought my car there. They had a beautiful waiting room with complimentary snacks and beverages. Tvs and comfortable seating made the wait bearable and comfy even.
Fantastic service. I have been using Firestone for over a decade and here lately it seems that I drive away with more problems than I arrived with and the problem that I arrived with wasn't fixed. The repairs here are not cheap, but the problem was fixed and for the first time in years I feel like my driving experience has actually improved.
Well I am leasing a car from the lease program and ever since we have had it i have felt ripped off. First a month after I had we realized that there was a gas leak from the car. Come to find out it had been leaking the whole time we had been driving it. Well they wanted to charge me to fix it at 564 dollars and this is with the extended service plan that guarantees that you will not be responsible for things like that. Needless to say after telling them that they would be responsible for me my wife and children doctor bills they magical said there was no charge. By the way the gas coupling had rusted apart. Car less for days even when you are told when you lease it if it has to go to the shop we can get you a rental. Well they should have said then that there are only a few available. Next the starter went out this time no charge because they hooked the pass time up wrong. Then the engine light comes on and I call and they tell me to just keep driving it for a week till they can get it in and if the engine light starts to flash call them back and they will tow it. So here we are today seating in the waiting room of the service department car less again waiting to hear how I am going to have to pay for something else on a car that I lease. Just from the experience I have had it would not recommend anybody to do the lease program because it will cost you more than just going out and getting yourself something used. I have had the car since November and I have already given them 2500 dollars to lease the car and I am on the hook till this November. Worst mistake I ever made good luck to everyone who has been through hear you are going to need it.
P.S. Shelor I don't need you to leave me that encouraging message about how you strive for a 100% satisfaction because me and the other negative comments already know that is a joke.
Thank you everyone for the read.
If you come here for service, you should just plan to buy a new tire. And you should plan it take 4x as long. When I bought my car from Shelor, I ended up in the service bay the next day because of a nail in the tire. I came in today for routine service, having had no previous tire issues. Magically! Nail in the tire. Not patchable. They know that they are virtually the only game in town, therefore they treat their customers as if they are a captive audience. Drive a hundred miles to somewhere else to get your car serviced before you come here
