Checking out the pumpkin prices and other things for Halloween even though it's a nice place and the people are friendly. The prices of everything there were almost twice the price I've seen at other places selling Halloween products. I know its a farm and the parking could get rough but I'm still cleaning mud out of my wheel wells. Didn't make a single purchase, complete waste of time and gas. Never again!

One of my favorite patches to visit. Might be getting a bit too popular though, it's turning into a tourist trap more than a farm.
Lots to do, decently priced items. Parking is a hassle. Trying to leave can be an exercise in futility. Huge amount of pumpkins. Apples and cider are off-site.response / report this review -

Fun making memories.. my youngest daughter is 3 I've brought her the past 3 years. And this year she was old enough to really enjoy it. It would be nice to pay a once you get in and then enjoy the maze,barrel train and hayride instead of charging individually for each attraction. But it is what it's been. Just wish they might change this over the years. Overall nice place to come to for Halloween festivities though

*** After receiving a kind and professional response from the owner of Shaw Farms explaining why things have changed I find it hard to leave my review at a 3 star. I understand the circumstances they face and still enjoy visiting this local farm with my family ***
My family and I have always enjoyed visiting Shaw Farms for Halloween and in the spring for their Farmers Market. With that being said I must say this year was a little disappointing. It seems very little if any of the pumpkins were from the farm, and instead were purchased from the same farms that grocery stores like Kroger buys from. We enjoy the authentic experience of picking our own pumpkins. Last year was understandable as many farms suffered from the excessive rain-- but this year to? Also, we have always loved the fact that the farm experiences were so affordable. This year the Corn Maze and bales of straw received quite a big price hike and the over all feel was more commercialized than the small farm experience we have all enjoyed from the years past.response / report this review -

I love our annual visits to Shaw Farm and always look forward to sharing that with our family. I don't mind paying a little more for the pumpkins because the overall experience has always been worth it. I look forward to the hayride and the cider each year! This year we went again, bringing along our 2 year old daughter.. we had a great time, but this year I was a bit shocked at the number of workers that were smoking on the job, including the ones on the kid ride. Our children are young and impressionable, not to mention the risk to their health. I hope they reconsider allowing the employees to smoke. As much as I love our annual trips there, im not sure I'd take our little girl back.

Love it! We take our kids every year. Love the horse carriage ride and the hayride. If you have a bad back like me the horse carriage ride is much easier on the old back. The little store they have is great as well. They have local honey, jams, pumpkin roll etc..you can buy. It's all very delicious. The kids like all the rides and the animals. It's a great place for everyone.

Very fun to place to take the family in the fall time for the pumpkin farm. They have hay rides, lots of play areas, farm animals, petting zoo, and good eats. I highly recommend taking the family! The one thing I would caution is that it gets super busy during the weekends.

This place is awesome for the fall. You can make a day out if it or just pick up some pumpkins or squash. They sell some great cider, have caramel apples, and have other fall activities such as a corn maze and hay rides. Very family friendly.
