There are some great employees here yes there prices are a bit higher I had an issues with my pump at first the few people I talked to had no idea what type of the filter I was talking about but the older gentleman that work there knew what I was talking about and in a quick description of my problem they told me what parts were broken and I was able to get the parts and they gave me a breif description on how to fix the issues and I was on my way
My wife bought a large Green Egg from there for Fathers day last year. She did not pay to have them assemble it ($100). I put it together myself and it was never totally right and unable to hold low temperatures (100% my fault). My issue is that when I asked them to have someone come out to make it right for me they wanted to charge me a flat rate of $150 which is 50% more than having them install the whole thing. I asked to guy if they could at least charge me $100 like I would have paid to have them install the whole thing and they would not reduce it $1. This problem might take about 10 min for an experienced technician with the right tools to fix and they want to gouge me on the repair after paying well over $1000 for a grill. My first call tomorrow will be to Don Marcum Pool Care because I had a friend who bought an egg there with similar issues and they came out the next day and fixed it FREE. I also have a call into McCabe and was told they charge $65 per hour. So the moral of the story is that Egg places who don’t sell you your Egg will charge you WAY less for service than Eastgate does after you buy it from them. This is the first negative review that I have written on google and I always try to shop at local stores instead of the big box stores but I was really disappointed with how little they cared about customer satisfaction. If you are thinking about buying an egg there do yourself a favor and either but it online and save money or from another local dealer and get good service from a place who cares.
The best thing I can say about them is that their installation guys were efficient. Beware: you WILL need an electrician (look up: "pool bonding"), and they WON'T be available within a MONTH of when you need them, and it will cost you about $2k, but Eastgate Pools isn't going to tell you that, because they want your money, and they want it NOW. We just wasted $3k on a pool we can't use until Septemberwhen we won't need a pool.
They're smooth-talkers, though. I initially gave them five stars.
We bought a big green egg from them, they said it would only take 15 minutes to put together which was a lie. They're impossible to put together!!! We finally got them out to the house to put the egg together and they said the band needed replaced. Well another 2 weeks passed and they finally got the band on it but didn't assemble the rest of the egg! I just called and spoke with Chris and he said it would be a $75 charge just to put the side tables on!!!!!!!??? I mean really??? We spent almost $2,000 on this egg and then we spent $7,000 on a hot tub and you all are going to charge us $75 to put the side tables on!!! Last time we will ever buy ANYTHING from you all again. And the only reason I gave it one star is because I had to in order to write something!
Chris switzer is his name I think he sold me a patio set and we love it and him very smart guy and very customer service oriented I would recommend him and eastgate pools e anytime thanks Chris for all your service and knowledge
Polite helpful knowledgeable staff simple process in purchasing our first pool.
They always have what I need and are so friendly ave knowledgeable.
Ripoff city. One example - Propane $4.99 per gallon at Eastgate Pools, $2.59 per gallon at Tractor Supply, shop around
Good equipment. But not very knowledgeable in what they sell. I bought a hot tub and the service tech could not set the dip switches correctly. I set them and when I complained to the service manager he just got irate at me.
