The service is not great, but the food is amazing. I am vegetarian but go out with meat eating friends and we all enjoy the huge vegan menu. Fav item is the vegetarian sweet and sour chicken. It tastes like the real thing! It's a great family style restaurant with fair prices.

There were seven of us that ate enough of each order of something different and still a little to take home. Price was good food was great.
I would eat there again with no hesitation. Loved it.

Shanghai Cafe is delicious. Their walnut shrimp is amazing and so flavorful. Very fresh and large shrimp! I also love ordering the Sesame Chicken, it's a little sweet but has great overall flavor. Staff is wonderful and attentive. They are so great at taking good care of you and feeding you amazing food!

Absolutely love this place!! Hands down best vegetarian Chinese restaurant in the Salt Lake valley. Super fast service, excellent flavor and decent prices for the value! I recommend the veggie "chicken" Moo goo Gai Pan, the Orange Sauce with veggie "chicken" and the Vegetarian Spring Rolls with peanut sauce. Can't wait to try other items on the menu!

Amazing food and very friendly staff. Lots of Vegetarian dishes. I must say that this is the 1st place I've eaten Vegetarian Chicken that actually did not make me miss Chicken in my dishes. Of course it did not completely taste like Chicken but it was very close and I didn't feel like I was missing anything at all. The Veg. pot stickers were so good and crispy that even my Sister who is NOT vegetarian loved them. I'm trying to be a Vegetarian and with meals like this I will never miss meat. The staff were so nice too and the atmosphere was authentic Asian. No plastic crappy American/Chinese look. My Sister and I just had a very good time and incredible meal. And so much as well. under $20 bought 2 meals (one serving for me was too much so now I have lunch and dinner :) ). My fav place now.

Yummy yummy yummy, this place is great! Tried 3 things. The Hot and sour soup is amazing, the bamboo and mushroom dish is amazing, and the zucchini tofu fake chicken dish is amazing with coconut flavors etc!

This place isn't great honestly. I'm not sure how the reviews were so good. I'm pretty bummed i wasted my money here. Egg rolls were good, food had a moldy taste so i had to throw it away. If i felt like they would care about my concerns, id probably call them. The guy was out front smoking and came back in and didn't wash his hands. I'm cool with smoking just wash your hands please. Also, I waited at the register for about 5 minutes before they helped me. Not a great place, I won't ever go back.

We had a party of 12. 4 adults and 8 kids. They had a big table but sat us at two small tables. When we ordered they made us order 5 meals with 2 slides and soup. They said with a party of our size we had to order that much food when half of our party was kids. When we got the bill they added in an 18% tip that was mandatory. Bottom line the food was good but the service was not.

Great little place. Great selection of dishes (especially vegetarian, but all will be happy here )and the ones we've tried have been delicious and served fresh. Service is friendly and quick. Portions for the price are a great value. Has always a very solid choice

BEWARE~ Vegetarian caution! I have been here a few times because of the vegetarian menu. However the last time I went I ordered something that was served with fish sauce in it. (A noodle salad.) As a "veg" I know it's my responsibility to check what's in the meal. I didn't check because I had ordered the noodle salad off of the VEGETARIAN section of the menu. So if this is important for your dietary needs, you might want to confirm with your server what's in the food even if you're ordering off of the vegetarian section. (Or go else where!)

One of the best restaurants in the state. An excellent variety of food from Chinese and Vietnamese dishes. Excellent service and awesome atmosphere. We go here once a month, if not once a week.

I was craving Chinese food tonight and went here with my husband in the evening. It did not disappoint. They were really quick with seating us, and gave us just the right amount of time to order our food. The food was delicious and there was also plenty of it, well worth the money!
I would definitely recommend this place.

I used to love this place and ate here often. The prices here are really cheap but the food quality isn't the greatest. It's awesome if you want a pretty good but cheap meal, but don't come expecting really good quality or service.

Absolutely do not go here! They lie about their food, plain and simple. All of their so-called vegetarian soups have chicken stock, Their veg Meats, which they will tell you are vegan, have eggs in them, & they use fish sauce in everything. Go to legitimately vegan friendly restaurants instead, like House of Tibet next door or Evergreen down the road.
