Room looks like it has never been vacuumed and the internet was slow and check in too forever. Only reason for staying because nothing else was available.
I absolutely love this hotel. Great friendly and helpful staff. Clean rooms, gen breakfast, & laundry, plus rewards program. Beneficial in many ways
Great price. Nice rooms and comfortable beds. Really nice place, quality for your money. Pleasant staff.
Horrible, disgusting, uncomfortable, unclean, criminals, drugs, rude staff, never got the remote and the tub faucet literally shot across the room when the water was turned on and they wouldn't fix it or let us take a shower in another room before we left. STAY AWAY!!!! Oh, and the WiFi barely works and you can't get a phone signal from here. It's the place where happiness went to die but even happiness in its dying state was like "Oh hell no" and ran away. Absolute worst place I have ever stayed and I have crashed at punk squats.
It's ok, my room was clean, bed was comfortable. Front desk guy was friendly. Look it's an older place if you want a 5 star hotel ho pay for it. For 50 Buck's a night this place is good.
When its time to check out, management harasses you and tries to barge into your room even after you've told them that your not properly dressed. I've has that happened to me twice. Even the nonsmoking rooms smell just like smoke.
From top to bottom gross. Had no other choice but to spend three nights here due to hurricane Irma evacuations. Mold and flaking paint on the ceilings triggered my allergies. Toilet did NOT flush on its own EVEN AFTER maintenance guy claimed to have fixed it pretty sure that's poop on the walls if you check the pics.
We asked for non-smoking, THE SHOWER curtains still wreaked of cigarettes and the bed covers had cigarette burns on them. The keycard reader on the door never worked the first time. Five swipes to open. Only reason why there's one star on this review is because there's no zero star option.
The truth: this was the best place in Selma.
They gave our room to someone else, thenthe room we got doesn't have a dedicated router for internet, smells like cigarets when we asked for non-smoking, and the buildings unconve tional architecture is rough for wheelchair/ roller luggage access.
Highlights: The rooms are clean enough, the staff are nice, the location is close to multiple restaurants within walking distance, pet friendly, the shower head and water pressure is awesome, the air conditioners are beasts. LCD TV either HDMI inputs so you can plug in your favorite devices. Microwave. Mini fridge.
Lowlights: The pool is drained, the wifi is terrible. The bed is not the most comfortable. The toilet runs constantly and then makes a very loud whistle when you flush it that doesn't stop until the tank is full. The tile is heavily cracked in places and the walls are somewhat thin. There are burn marks on the carpet (smoking room, so it's expected. I don't smoke, but I'm evacuating from Hurricane Irma, so I didn't have much choice.)
Bottom line: Bring earplugs (barking dogs and car doors slamming abound) and don't come for the amenities. If you're just looking for a bed to lay your head, this will do.
Wasn't what expected.
Quain't and quiet, good for short interim
This is not a safe place to stay My daughter stay at this hotel and people came knocking on the door mistaken her for someone else This happen at 2:30am in the morning and again at 8:00am. She complained to the front desk and clerk informed her that manager would get in touch about the situation but it's been 12 hours and no word from management I call the hotel and was told that the staff informed management but it looks like the customers are not a priority All I tell anyone is stay at your own risk Would not advise anyone to stay at this hotel..
Nothing, room was dirty, shabby. No fitted sheets on mattress, phone didn't work. No local TV stations, couldn'the watch the Alabama vs LSU game. Breakfast was OK but the dining room was dirty. Won't stay there again.
This is a pretty nice little place all things considered. No its not the fanciest place but its also not the newest or most expensive either. At 6'5" I appreciate the raised shower head, nice comfortable bed too. The made to order FREE breakfast is a huge + as well. The desk lady was real nice when I got here too.
There was plenty of room for me to bring a 9 axle in, but watch the south drive with an RGN so you don't get high centered.
This might not be the best neighborhood, but judging strictly on the hotel I will stay here again.
