One of the best sushi places by far! Love the selection of sushi and wine. Service is phenomenal and the food is great. Too bad it's winter because in the summer getting to sit outside and people watch / river watch is pretty fun. Not the easiest place to park at but what can you ask for in the 3rd ward.
Our server was awesome and my dish was excellent. I ordered the sea bass and risotto with mushrooms. The sauce was very rich and had like a ‘gravy’ like texture. My date ordered the sushi sampler. We had a bottle of saki and an appetizer of spicy sushi. I enjoyed dinner and will return.
Delicious but pricey. Their fish is of high quality. We had the crab wantons for appetizer and they were the best i had ever had. The rolls we ordered were also fantastic, but the price is pretty steep. The location is great. I suggest going there in daylight to enjoy the view of the river.
Alright I had previously given this a very good review. I frequent this place and have had very different experience recently that has caused me to rethink my previous rating. While the food quality is still good I question the bar staff sanitation practices. During my last visit I witnessed a bartender take a sip out of a drink from a straw not once but three times. Another bartender came over and also tried the drink out of the same straw. At this point the drink had been sitting there for awhile and I thought that maybe they were just testing the drink and it wasn’t getting sent out. But to my surprise it was finished off with a garnish and the bartender ask a waiter to deliver it and another drink to a table. They never changed the straw. So not only did the drink get at the least 4 sips taken out of it before the customer got their drink, but the customer got it with a straw that two bartenders had drank out of. I couldn’t believe my eyes. I don’t know if I will be returning after seeing that.
Sushi was awesome. Every roll ordered I actually liked including one with tuna, which I don't enjoy eating at other places. They had some unique cocktails that were really good and fresh. Prices might be a little higher but not bad, , the view over the river is worth paying a little extra. Reservations are not required but recommended. Note they will not seat you until your full party if there and outdoor seating is first come first serve even with reservations.
The waiter is knowledgeable. The outside was right near a river. The food looked exquisite and tasted better. Reasonable priced.
Nice view of the Milwaukee River and the gentrified area in dowtown Milwaukee. Plenty of seating. Reasonable pricing. Great specials. Really good sushi. Smaller bar, but good drinks. Staff knows their fare and explains it well. Not too busy so getting a seat was no problem. Parking is limited so a parking app woukd come in handy.
Amazing sushi! Great location on the riverfront! Go during their happy hour to save some $$
My family had a very nice experience. The food was very good and the menu had some creative options. We were visiting Milwaukee from out of town and server had some good suggestions for things to do. My daughter liked it so much she wanted to eat there again the following evening!
Great view by the river and great atmosphere, especially at night. This is the kind of place that you feel like you could dress up a little before coming. The food, however, is mediocre at best. It's especially unfortunate because it is priced to taste much better than it is. It's hard to find any good sushi in Milwaukee in general and Screaming Tuna is definitely is not going to break the mold. If you're really into sushi or are a sushi snob, go somewhere else. If you don't really care all that much about sushi and want to eat somewhere nice down by the river, this is a great place for you.
Went here in a few months ago. The restaurant has a great atmosphere, and the service is good. But the food is not where this place shines. We ordered a gindara dish and the rice cake it came with was super salty almost inedible. Then we ordered sushi and I found a piece of bone. Luckily the server apologized and comped us. One thing the server did say as he was apologizing was that this hasn't happened in a few years. This should never happen in a sushi restaurant. Come here if I want a good experience, but don't expect good sushi.
The sushi I ordered was really good. The service was great, and the view of the water and Milwaukee at night was perfect. It was my birthday celebration, and the gluten-free dessert they gave me was delicious.
Love this place. Who wouldn't with the great sushi. My son turned me onto Screaming Tuna and now it's hard not to go every time we are downtown That have great daily specials everyday too!
Totally recommend it !
I have dined here on more than several occasions and NEVER have been disappointed. The sushi for 2 is phenomenal and filling, something that most sushi restaurants don't dogive you enough so you don't leave hungry. The bar is small but intimate and the service has always been top notch. If you choose to dine outsidea wonderful river view. My favorite sushi dining establishment in Milwaukee.
The food is excellent - new cuisine as well as traditional- and being responsibly sourced, makes it so much nicer to eat. Love the interior design. Has a comfortable feel, many different types of seating arrangements to fit your mood and company. Be ready for walking in to a cozy space "downstairs," that opens up to a beautiful vista overlooking the Rive, (beyond the ceiling to floor glass walls) and a generous and sturdy outdoor deck. Great, friendly people really cap off the whole experience. Highest recommendation!
