After several disappointing appointments with other bakeries, including a "tasting" where the owner offered to sell us cupcakes to try the flavors they carried (seriously?) we happened upon Scialo for my sister's wedding. They were so friendly and the (COMPLIMENTARY) cupcakes and then her cake were so delicious, when I got married my husband and I didn't even bother looking elsewhere—we got our cake there also. We've been back almost every year for our anniversary cake (when my toddler was an infant we stayed home on our anniversary—no one had the energy to drive an hour!) and it's always delicious. Everyone there is incredibly friendly and accommodating, and the one time we were disappointed by the decoration on the cake (the usual decorator was out sick) they made things right immediately. Can't wait for next year's cake!

Wonderful traditional bakery where you leave with a full box of pastries wrapped with double strands of string by helpful staff. Cookies, Date-nut squares, cupcakes and even Individual slices of cake, including my favorite orange liqueur 'Cassata' sponge cake covered with marzipan. Everything here is delicious.

I came to New England to visit my husband's family for Christmas. We made sure to head into Providence to explore where his parents grew up, and of course, we had to go to Scialo Brothers. The employees were very nice and helpful. We were given pizza strips for free (perhaps because it was so late in the evening, perhaps because I'm from out of state). I bought many treats to bring home to share; I only wish I wasn't 2,000 miles away!

This bakery is probably one of the best in Providence. Small mom-n-pop bakery with a wide selection of treats and breads. Tiny parking lot makes getting in and out easy, which can be tough sometimes on Atwells Ave.
