Authentic German. Excellent potato pancakes, and we all loved our schnitzels. Amazing plum cake

I can't believe anyone would rate this less than a 4. Great food every time. Every time. Friendly staff. Good beer on tap. Quiet setting. I ate here twice per week every week for a month. Great variety of schnitzel, great side selection. Pay no mind to any criticism. You will fill your belly and your pallet will not regret it.

Just visited the Schnitzelhouse "as seen on TV" and the food is great and indeed authentic German. Noteworthy also the cakes - German Cheesecake, Baumkuchen, beyond great. Besides if the food, the hospitality is fantastic. The owners take their time to talk to you and both are very, very friendly. Great people make great places.

We are germans and have been living in Fort Myers for 5 years.
Today (on Saturday) we visited the Schnitzelhouse for the first time.
We were very suprised when we noticed that we were the only table in the entire restaurant. Other people did come in later on and looked just as suprised to find an almost empty restaurant on a Saturday.
The food wasnt very good, it didnt taste like much ,i am not sure if they are using spices at all. The Wienerschnitzel tasted like it was microwaved, I was able to tell by how soggy the breading was.
We had Spaetzle and Potato Salad as our sides and neither of us were able to finish them, because of the poor taste.
We were very dissapointed when we wanted to return the barely eaten food as our waitress shrugged with her shoulders and just brought us the check without even taking the plates.
We will not be back, it was a very bad experience.

I was saddened by this experience and will not be returning. The dumplings if you want to call them that, were uneatable. Nothing on the plate had any seasoning or real flavor, everything was very bland. The price was good but the food was awful. I hate writing this review because I love family owners restaurants with the non corp. feel. Serving hash brown squares, calling it potato pancake. Schnitzel's are frozen. Not homemade. The food compared to other German/ Austrian food restaurants in the area to choose to dine at are better other then wasting your time eating here.

She ordered the Mozzarella, Asparagus Schnitzel. I ordered the Roast Mushrooms and Onions Schnitzel. She said hers was 'OK'. I liked mine very much. Breading was crunchy, pork was tender. Very tasty. She said she would order a plain veal Schnitzel next time; it's more to her taste.

Service was fast and friendly. It was clean and pleasant, nothing fancy. We'll return!
