Remind yourself to visit here once every couple months if you need to sit back and breathe in some fresh smell of the kitchen and the natural San Diego hidden gems. Great food thanks for the experience

Every once in a while you come across a place that is perfect but in a different way. This place says home, come in and take a breath. The food is wonderful but unlike anything else I’ve had. The service comfortable. This was a great night at a great restaurant. Check it out and I think you will find yourself a very happy diner.

It's a cute cottage-y feel with privacy. The Chicha Morrada drink is a bundle of flavors that'll keep you entertained and satisfied. The breakfast burrito is just right, the use of red onions really gives it a special flavor. The breakfast croissant is crisp and buttery and the eggs are cooked to perfection. You cannot come here without trying the empanadas which give you a myriad of thoughts and hints at different flavors. Overall the food was incredibly tasty and the ambience is superb.

The food is pretty good, however unreasonably pricey, for example: yuka fries = $12, which is crazy. 2 points off for way overpricing even for a beach location.

I've been here for both breakfast and dinner this weekend and the food is absolutely amazing! The empanadas are to die for. It was a great authentic Peruvian experience. The staff is hard working and the owners are very friendly! I definitely recommend checking out this place if you're in the Del Mar area

I've been to this restaurant twice I love the ambient and the food! I had the Caldo de Gallina and it was delicious with hand made corn tortillas so good!

The hostess, ambiance, the waitress, and the service was amazing. Drinks and food were amazing. Paco sour was great. I had a bad experience with Disco sour somewhere else but this place made it all better. We had empanel couscous crevice Yuma and lamb long stewed entree. All were fantastic. It was worth waiting for 9 pm late reservation l!! Four stars because I woke up all night drinking water. Must have been bit salty.

I stopped once by accident, tried the Bread with chicharrón (pork) and it was to die. That was last year 2015. Lately I stopped going to this restaurant, the service is poor and not Peruvian authentic any more. They served me a bread with chicharron without sweet potatoes and they replaced it with regular potatoes. My dad also didn't enjoy his last visit here (April 2016). He got a dish with other replaced ingredients. If you want better Peruvian food try El Qero in Cardiff.
I wish the Owner of Cafe secret who is very nice made sure her staff was more attentive and dishes don't loose main ingredients.response / report this review -
