Potable water is all the way back at the office, or the real bathrooms. You will not be anywhere near the office or real bathrooms. You will be close to porta-potties. You will have to drive back along the poorly maintained road to get water or use a real bathroom. This is the barest of car camping.

Friendly staff and a nice scenic location. It's near other outdoor activities such as Ohiopyle and Laurel Caverns. The price is decent for what you want, and the map they give you is easy to follow. I would definitely return and recommend to anyone.

Stayed for one night got charged for the entire weekend. The staff was unfriendly from the very beginning. The port-o-potties were disgusting and hadn't been emptied for what looked like months. Our camp site was filled with nothing but rocks. We asked if the site next to us was being used and they said no one was using it all weekend, so we offers them an addl $100 to switch to that site for the remainder of our stay since the site they gave us was littered with large stones everywhere and they said we only have it if we paid full price for that site as well. I said no one is using it and you guys will get an extra $100 just for letting us move they still said no I wouldn't recommend this place to anyone. I'd give them ZERO stars if that was possible. Worst camping experience I ever had.

This place is great for camping. If you want silence, flush toilets and hot showers, perhaps you don't like camping at allmaybe you belong at the Holiday Inn. If you want to sleep in the woods, under the stars, near a nice campfire, then this is your place. I stayed in the middle of July and didn't even see my neighbors, let alone hear them. Very close to Ohiopyle, where I went rafting the following day. Already planning to return in a couple weeks. I would recommend to anyone that wants to GO CAMPING.

My wife and I came to Ohiopyle for the labor day weekend and stayed at the scarlett knob campground. We met the nicest guy at the office who told us about the land and gave us directions to our camp site. When we got to our site, it was extremely clean and plenty of room for my wife and I to space out! We met some really nice people around our site also!
We never had a single problem while we were there and the Porto John's were easily accessible. They do have a couple showers that take a quarter for five minutes of use, plenty of time for a quick shower or pop another quarter in!
We ran out of firewood on our last night and ended up going to the camp office and boy I wish we had just purchased wood there instead of hauling wood in the truck. It was very affordable and burned really well!
We also stayed in the group area where drinking alcohol is permitted and the quiet hours start at midnight instead of 9pm
Excellent first time camping and cannot wait to come back!

They are extremely expensive. I made a reservation for 7 and had a couple extra people show up. Of course they charge you for the entire weekend no matter how long you stay so my overall bill was $304 for ONE NIGHT. 9 people on one miserably small spot.

What I really did not appreciate was the owner coming into our camp first thing in the morning and waking people up to demand more money. We had a couple guys from a neighboring site come by and hang out the night before and apparently someone came by and counted them and charged us.

I have nothing good to say about this place. Staff is unfriendly and unwelcoming. Amenities are simply port-a-potties, one per 100 people. Camp site was all poison ivy.

I recently stayed at this campground even after reading the reviews. I am not the type to run down someone's business and I value constructive criticism.
Pros;
Close to Ohiopyle (2 miles)
You can drink at the campground
Heavily wooded
Quiet and Party areas (this is subjective)
Firewood for sale

Cons;
Campsites are close together; you can hear EVERYTHING your neighbor is doing
Expensive for the amenities ($26 per night)
Bathrooms are primitive; VERY Primitive
Showers are temperamental; scalding hot one second to freezing cold the next

Now for the rage;
We stayed in the quiet section and for the first 2 nights, all was quiet. On the third night we got new neighbors; boorish, drunk, white trash, hillbilly, confederate flag waving neighbors who thought that their country music should be played at a VERY loud level for all to hear. I don't mind country music, but I went camping for peace and solitude, not ear shattering music.
We considered our options;
Talk to our drunk neighbors and ask them to shut it off, but based upon their physical numbers and their general attitude, this would have probably ended in a physical altercation.
Complain to the staff, but this would have probably ended up with harassment from our said neighbors later.
We choose to skip our last evening at Scarlett Knob and breakdown camp.
Here is my beef; Scarlett Knob states that they patrol the campground and enforce the code of silence in restricted areas. It is in my estimation that they don't.
They are overpriced.
The amenities are poor, but we were camping and I can live with this provided that this was the only issue.
The campsites are TOO close together.
I hope that this is helpful to others. Again, I don't mean to put the bad mouth on another business, but had I read a review like this, I might have found other accommodations.
