Amazing experience! Such fun for ever age, stopped here and there and gave us historical facts of the area! Very fun staff
Not exactly a thrill ride, more of a tour of one of Michigan's most unusual and beautiful duneland preserves. A real must see! Guides and drivers are well versed in pointing out the unique ecological features of the dunes, as well as telling the amazing story of a whole town once as wild as Dodge City, literally buried beneath your feet by the dunes a century ago. Seasonal attraction. A bit pricy.
We all has a great time on our ride today. Joey was our driver n he did an awesome job. We want to try n do this every year at this time.
We had a great time going on the dune ride. This was my first time and I loved it. Our tour guide Brad was awesome. He had some corny jokes that were funny. It was awesome learning about how the Dunes were formed. You get the opportunity to get out at the top of the Dunes to look around and it was beautiful. I highly recommend it. Due to how popular it is, it can be difficult to get a spot on the rides. I recommend going there early and securing a spot and then doing other activities until your scheduled time.
Who knew Michigan had sand dunes! Fun experience for all ages. John, our driver, shared a lot of interesting information and history about the Dunes and made it fun. No reservations - First come, first serve. We only had to wait about an hour even though they were really busy. John said they often sell-out by 2, so get there before that time to assure a ride on that day.
This was our second trip. It was great. Our driver was fun. He was informative and dealt with the obnoxious kids really well. Worth the wait. You have to get there early and wait a bit, but it is worth it. We prefer this to Mac Dunes rides.
Great family activity! The kids (ages 1 and 5) had the best time and we all loved it. It's a 6 row open top truck, and we sat in the center row. They kids were laughing and cheering the whole time, and they didn't want the rider to end. The driver was funny, kind, and informative and made the ride perfect. He stopped a few times along the way to give us some history and tell about the landscape. Cute little souvenir and snack place to get some treats before or after your ride. Book ahead, they sell out fast! We booked online the day before and there were only 2 times available for the day.
I may be the person who has ridden this ride more than some of the staff! It is a must do! I always take people new to Saugatuck on the dune ride. And I may be able to recite the ride verbatim, it's well worth it! The have a great staff and the view at the top is worth every penny! To bad that don't have a frequent rider program! All in all great fun!!!
Awesome little time. Our guide was a funny feels with a sense of humor. Offered some interesting local historical facts about the area during the tour. The fine ride was a blast. Yes they go fast. Yes your getting sand in your hair. But it's fun the kids will love it and I highly recommend you take the time for it.
Had a great fathers day! The trip was fun, our tour guide was upbeat. Great views from atop the dunes. Wear good shoes if you want to walk the dunes for the view (we spent more time looking for buried flip flops than walking).
You MUST do the dune ride if you're near Saugatuck or Douglas. Our family really enjoyed the ride. It was the perfect mix of a "thrilling" fun ride with just enough information and history to make us feel like we learned something. Our guide (Aaron) was awesome and made the ride really enjoyable. We were able to get out of the jeep at the top of a dune for a great view of the surrounding area and Lake Michigan. The person sitting next to me had been on the dune ride 4 times already, and I see why. Totally recommended.
So much fun! The whole family (10 to 48) enjoyed this outing. Only a 35 minute event, but uniquely one to remember. Get there early for tickets. You cannot reserve them online. We arrived at 2 pm and got tickets for 420. So we left and came back. Excellent all around. Highly recommended.
