Excellent wines! Tried the a-bomb and blackberry wine recently and they did not disapoint. The apple is made with apples from local orchard G.W. Stroh and was everything you would expect from an apple wine. The blackberry wine was also extremely good and very true to the flavor of fresh blackberries. Another bottle I would recommend is the 101 lakes, excellent red color and had a great flavor all around. More of a Cabernet than a Merlot.

Come for a taste, speak to the owner about wine OR beer, and leave with a few bottles. I recommend their port and rum barrel apple table wine for the non traditional purchases, and then to each their own for the rest.

I am so glad we live a short distance from Satek. Anytime we have friends and relatives staying, we go to Satek. There is store bought wine and there is winery wine. I am always surprised that they can keep up with demand. Every time we are visiting there are fellow wine enthusiasts that are enjoying the experience, also. Bring friends and buy in greater quantities to get bigger discounts. When my cabinet starts to look empty, I am planning a trip down to restock. Wine tasting is fun, because I like them all and have a hard time deciding which I like the best.

Satek Winery was the first winery established in NE Indiana, over a dozen years ago. Now in the region there are about half a dozen wineries. I don't know much about wine, but the people working in the Satek tasting room (free tastings!) are friendly and knowledgeable about wine, which helps somebody like me. I do know Satek Winery has won many medals through the years for excellence of the wines they craft. It makes me think that similarly, while there are many brands of corn flakes, Kellogg's Corn Flakes says it's "the first and the best!" Satek Winery might be justified if they made the same claim.
