It's a lovely place with a great view of the ocean. The rooms themselves are a bit dated, but they are reasonably comfortable. The staff is exceptionally helpful. There was a snafu with our reservation, but they were able to fix it and help us feel comfortable in the meantime.
We had a great experience at Dream Inn! Rooms have balconies facing the incredible 'semi-private' beach and ocean! We left our balcony open all night just to hear the ocean waves crashing and feel that cool breeze. Rooms were clean, nice, comfortable and modest; daily maid service semi-pro. Great coffee bar in lobby. Can check out beach bikes. Staff incredibly nice - customer service was great. Grabbed drinks at O'Neills honoring the man. Eating at restaurant was great. MANY nearby restaurants. 1 mile from Downtown Santa Cruz for retail, restaurants and bars. 2 miles away from beautiful UC Santa Cruz campus. Central to many destinations. Love this. Will come back again.
This place exceeded my expectations in every way. Booked last minute and got a great room rate. The interior is amazing. Loved the surf theme and the attention to detail. Staff was all very friendly and helpful. The view from the room was stunning. I will come back to Santa Cruz just to stay in this hotel.
VERY friendly people, great service, beautiful location and views. Used for conference and it is just an Excellent facility! I recommend for a weekend get away, conference, meeting or whatever. Then take the time to walk the cliffs and people watch, it's exceptional
We stayed in the king suite on the 4th floor.
I've never stayed in such an inadequately supplied room. 4 people. The sofa bed mattress is thin and uncomfortable.
Towels for 2, bath robes for 2, only one coffee kit, but coffee is SOLD in the lobby!.
The grout in the shower needs cleaning.
The TV has only a channel guide, not a SHOW guide.
Paying a grand for a weekend stay is fine, in a Hotel that actually has guest comfort in mind. This Hotel was just renovated. It's nice and the view is awesome. But the "SUITE" should have been more than 2 rooms with 2 TVs.. 😣
Stayed at the Dream Inn during my stay with spectacular service all the staff always had a smile and greeted me even as I walked back and forth by the same people a few times but without a beat missed they still acknowledged I was there. The hotel was perfectly placed among walking and enjoyment region of the boardwalk. The view from the room was amazing and description won’t do it justice. The room itself was modern and updated, extremely clean, and many amenities that you would expect. Definitely will be staying again!
We are locals and my parents were visiting from out of town so we wanted to bring them somewhere decent with nice views. We chose to have lunch at Aquarius and it was great. The bussboy was so kind and polite. Our server was okay- she almost had a "I'm better than you" kind of attitude, but it did not ruin our meal or our time at all. It's a perfect place to bring out of town guests even if they're not staying at the hotel.
The Dream Inn is a great place to stay when visiting Santa Cruz. Very walkable to the Boardwalk and the beach. I've yet to come here and not gotten a room with a fantastic view of the ocean. The higher the room, the better the view. Since the last time I was here they've clearly made some big upgrades. New carpet, decor, lobby experience (including a place to order coffee). There are also some new additions to the pool area. This place is family friendly which can be a good thing or a bad thing depending on what you're looking for. Self parking is $25 per day.
The hotel was clean, room was beautiful! We absolutely loved our view, the price of room service was reasonable and the food was delicious (we had the breakfast burritos) the pool/spa area was very nice as well! We definitely plan to stay again!
The hotel is clean and very well decorated. Beds are comfy and the staff seems very attentive and nice for the most part. There is also nighttime security. Location is awesome-right there on the beach. Pool is nice also. Hot tub is a little small, and the drinks are a little overpriced at the pool, but those things are hardly an issue. I'm very pleased with my stay here.
Beautifully maintained older hotel. Rooms are indicative of the time in which it was built. Not very big, but comfy. My wife and 2 adult sons stayed there, and even though we were on top of each there at times,we didn't mind. View off balcony made size of room all worthwhile! On property restaurant & bar was always busy, but again well worth the wait. Would definitely stay there again if visiting Santa Cruz.
Amazing! Freshly renovated with great decor. The room was spacious and beds were very comfortable. The view from the private balcony of the wharf, beach and boardwalk was fabulous and the sound of the crashing waves was so relaxing. We can't wait to go back.
