I've stayed here quite a few times. Both in tents and Cabins. I've enjoyed myself every time and have no complaints except that my son's bike was stolen. :(
They have a nice pool, playground for kids, volleyball, and many activities. Waterfront in the back.
Fun place! We usually do state parks and camp for nature and being outdoors. This is not that type of camping. This is a great place to go if you want to be active and keep the kid entertained. Its close to Cedar Point and activities outside of the campground, but we never leave because the kids love the activities provided too much. The camping spaces are small but fine. they keep the campgound clean and the staff is very attentive and respond to issues quickly. We love it here.
Been staying here from when it first became a KOA. We keep coming back. Stayed in nearly every type of rental and am camping in a popup now. Friendly staff good size lots clean restrooms. They are continually making improvements, there's a new pool in addition to the original pool. Many more full service hookup sites and they added more electrical sites in a shady area that was just primitive sites. New fire rings with grill tops. Yes there is a train nearby so pick a site away from the road towards the lake. There are so many things to do around here and not "just" Cedar Point. Our families favorite campground.
We've stayed here twice, mostly recently this weekend. Proximity to the amusement park is awesome and the staff, amenities, terrific. A whole lot to do to keep everyone occupied. My kids loved the pedal karts and jump pillow. Every 'neighbor' we met was friendly and kind. We had a great time.
Our only disappointment was with our deluxe cabin (was a studio-type place with a full bed, bunk beds, full kitchen and bath). It was really tight for two adults and two kids - we knew that going in - but it was really dirty and just not well maintained. Many of the lights were burned out and the walls, floor and some of the dishware were pretty gross. Thick dust on the ceiling fan and atop the furniture. I'm glad we brought paper products and our own cookware.
That said, the restrooms at the snack shack are immaculate. I'm sure there's a ton of pressure to turn the cabins quickly, but a little extra attention would go a very long way.
Nevertheless, we would likely stay here again for a visit to Cedar Point.
I was not disappointed with our stay at all. Staff and the seasonal guests was extremely friendly. There was plenty of activities for kids to do. The sites were a bit close but not uncomfortable considering it's proximity to a large amusement park. The permanent fire ring was to close for comfort to our camper but staff was accommodating and provided us with a temporary one. Bathrooms and showers in our area of the campground were nice and clean. We would go again.
Rented one of the deluxe cabins. All of the staff I met were very friendly. The girl that ran the activities at the creation station was great with the kids. The campground is not huge so you're close to everything. The pool and playground are in the middle and it's a short walk from any location. My son loved the basketball court. The train didn't bother me at all, but I can see how it might if you're tent camping. The camp store had great prices compared to most I've been too. Would stay here again if camping in the area.
Loves the folks there friendly employees. Clean place lot was down hill a bit.
This place is great. Making sure we stay there next year!!!
We rent camped here. It was a great spot close to Cedar Point, we had an outlet at our campsite so bring an extension cord if you want to charge your phones!
Absotutly loved this weekend getaway. Very nice pool and the place we stayed was great. Although I'm a tent camper I enjoyed the cabin/trailer we stayed in. They had so many amenities and was near many other places to visit. Was definitely a great time!! The kids loved it too :)
Reasonable prices and great people. Everyone here is very helpful and friend the Rustic cabin we stayed in was even really nice. Clean bathrooms a ton of things to do around camp if you aren't hitting up Cedar point. Only downfall I had with the stay were the cabin beds. I thought they could have been a little bit more comfortable. Also note that this campground is in front of train tracks. It didn't bother me and my wife bc the cabin we were in was very well insulated so the sound didn't big us much. I could see it bugging tent campers though.
