I would like to share a 4-star review of a Two-star establishment. 4 stars because they've obviously done what they can to keep the place comfortable and inviting, just be aware that it's not a Hilton or Holiday Inn. This is an economical place to stay overnight. I did feel safe here, and the location is convenient, right on Colorado Boulevard. The only complaints I had were an awkward room layout, which management can't really control, and the use of mechanical door locks, which can easily be defeated by a thief. Still, if I wasn't traveling with valuables, I would consider it again.

Great place to stay. Staff is always ready to help. Rooms are clean and inviting.my wife and I have stayed here approx.12 times over past 7 months and never had any issues. Even when calling at the last minute. They have always had a room available for us.

It was very cozy and the pool was relaxing. The breakfast provided was nothing more than your standard continental breakfast but it's better than nothing. The area can get a bit busy since it is right across a community college campus but it doesn't disturb the piece. There are several convenience stores and restaurants all around so you'll have no problem getting what you might need. Would definitely recommend.

It is located in the middle of a huge restaurant area so there is plenty of really good food or fast food within easy walking distance, or for delivery. The staff was super friendly and I had no problems with online booking or checking in. Plenty of parking, the pool looked really nice and the breakfast was ok. The room was clean, but the walls are thin, can hear people in the rooms around us. But nobody was up late so it wasn't a problem. I had a hard time getting warm water in the shower in the morning, but my wife had no problems after me. Maybe just user error. Not sure. The elevator was broken, which I didn't need, but I just thought it odd. Overall, a nice experience. I'd stay there again.

Clean, quiet, comfortable. Everything works as it should. Friendly staff. A nostalgic Motor Hotel on what was Route 66. If you dig that kind of thing you'll dig this place.

The employees at the Saga Motor Hotel are wonderful. The hotel is a great deal especially with their web coupon. The place is older but clean, comfortable, and nice. I've stayed at this hotel multiple times and have enjoyed my stay each time.

One of the old Route 66 Motels on Colorado Blvd in Pasadena. We spent two nights in this historic motel with clean rooms. View from the room was towards the pool area, but could just catch a little bit of the blue of the water, through so many palm trees.

All in all it's a nostalgic place to stay, if you're on the road and if the journey is your reward, not the destination.

Our stay has just begun but so far we are pleased. The room is clean and the shower has some decent pressure to it. Unfortunately the elevator is out of order (with no sign of it ever getting fixed).

The room was clean and everything was in working order. It definitely hasn't been updated since at least the early 90s and the decor represented this. The provision of books in the room was a plus. I would have enjoyed it more had it smelled fresher. It smelled old, if you can imagine that.

This is a little home away from home for us. It isn't pretentious but clean and neat. I love Saga's retro charm and it's easy to imagine Mad Men like characters of that time walking the grounds. Our family unanimously votes Saga as having the cleanest most sparkling pool ever! The staff are very friendly and accommodating. We'll be back. It's located ideally with the beautiful mountains as the backdrop. Saga is close to Old Town Pasadena but down the street a bit so it is less crowded.

Loved this spot! We were traveling from Seattle to Phoenix via I-5 and then 210 and wanted a safe and perhaps unique spot to stay around the LA area. Pasadena fit the bill and the Saga won us over with the "historic Route 66 motel" description and great reviews.

It didn't disappoint, the staff was very friendly, rooms are cute and ours even looked over the pool, which is a heated outdoor pool and closes at dusk. We just missed it. I personally enjoyed the Olive Branch provided bathroom soap, lotion, shampoo and conditioner and bathroom cap. However, I was surprised that the room did not have a coffee maker. There is plenty of coffee at the complimentary continental breakfast in their adorable breakfast room, which overlooks the street where the Rose Bowl parade takes place.

Travelers with trailers beware: you can't pull your trailer through where you check in at the office. There is a very low clearance overhang, at some 6' 4. Park on the street with your trailer or tall truck and they'll give you a key to open the back parking lot and you can park in there. Perhaps with a really large trailer you should call ahead to make sure there is room, or you'd have to park on the street.
