Very elegant and upscale. Been there for years. Great accomadations for special events including new years eve special. Staff friendly and helpful. Good deal on spa specials
I have stayed here before and had a much better experience than this time. This was was just ok this time. I stayed for two nights. When I arrived I confirmed that the two rooms I booked were next to each other. When my friends arrived two hours later to check into the room on my reservation, they were told the room was overbooked and given a much less superior room for the same price in another tower a ways from us. The heat was not working in our room and it was very cold so we asked for service the first night. They did some adjustment and then the room was sweltering hot and would not cool down. The next day I had to ask for maid service twice before someone actually came down and did the room. I asked at 4pm and again at 6pm figuring that was plenty of time for service. They simply threw a stack of towels on the unmade bed and considered that service for the day. The spa was nice. I wish they would leave the eucalyptus spray in the sauna as it had none. I must say I was extremely disappointed in my stay after driving 9 hours to come to the resort and have a weekend with friends.
My husband and I live local and came for a weekend getaway. Two night all-inclusive. I am. Repeat guest and have been coming here for 20 years through their remodel and everything. This trip is worse than disappointing. The all-inclusive is a RIP OFF and management is rude and unwilling to compromise in honor of their representations. The all-inclusive package includes a " 25 minute spa massage, 25 minute spa facial, herbal wrap or mineral bath". They SAY when you both book and check in that you get that or you can upgrade to another service and pay the difference. The menu price of those services is $65. We went to upgrade to a 50 minute massage they say we can only use a "credit for the discounted price of the service of $40 towards the cost of the upgraded service. I spoke with spa reception, management and hotel management and they were all rude and would not budge. They just kept repeating how they do the accounting of the service and would not even make an exception to honor what our expectations were. I wanted to pay the difference of the 50 minute massage of $110 and the 25 minute of $65 = $45. They refused to honor it. Furthermore, the unlimited drink of the day is disappointing. I think they choose a well drink that will only appeal to a minority population. I mean if your a cheap gin & tonic fan, or cheap whisky sour fan you'd do well. However, that drink I'd say isn't a mainstream popular drink, especially for a weekend crowd. Read the small print. They add a daily resort fee of $16 per day which is pretty typical. HOWEVER. IN ADDITION, they automatically add an 18% gratuity to EVERY all-inclusive item. So you can't go in like a true all-inclusive and not have to be paying additional $ the whole trip as the costs rack up. Every meal, 18% additional you have to pay out of pocket. Spa services in addition to the included "spa massage" you have to pay an additional gratuity automatically added to the cost costing an additional $17 per person on that item alone. Drinks beside the drink of the day you can get house wine or well drinks or draft beer and have to pay $2 per drink PLUS an automatically added gratuity. So you may think it's a good deal but be prepared to pay an additional $120 at least per night in additional to your package price.
I went in the other day for an aromatherapy massage. I've had many massages before, even at the spa, but this was the worst massage. It was more like a skin rub than a massage, and the 50 minute massage was only 40 minutes, including taking my robe off. The whole thing felt rushed, and my muscles didn't feel like they'd even been "touched." Pretty disappointed considering how expensive a massage is at the spa. My mother also received a massage, with a different masseuse, and she said her massage was incredible and she really massaged her body (versus just rubbing her skin raw).
My son had his wedding here and it was fabulous. The staff is very accommodating and I simply adore the wedding planner Maria! They also have the best Sunday brunch in town.
Beautiful resort, however we were not super impressed with the hotel staff during our stay. It wasn't one particular issue. It was just several small issues that compounded. The staff never seemed to be fully on the same page. We would get different answers from everyone. Overall, it's a good location and beautiful resort, but the service left much to be desired, particularly for the price point.
My husband was visiting this resort for a conference. The room was okay. The bed was comfortable. The surrounding area was absolutely amazing. I arrived a couple days into the conference. Here is where we had an issue that was not resolved satisfactorily. My husband did not have cellular reception in his room, therefore when making business calls and calling home each evening he was charged. He did not know he was going to be charged and since we live in the state of Florida, definitely not $200 for phone calls. That was absolutely ridiculous. He went to the front desk to try to resolve the issue and they said they would look into it, but when we checked out, we were charged. Another issue I observed was a guest vomited in the hallway and it was left there for an extended amount of time (this happened Thursday, October 5, 2017). For health reasons, I would think it would have been cleaned up quickly. I know it was there for at least 2 1/2 hours. The smell was still there in the evening on Thursday and Friday morning.
If you have been dreaming of a very special wedding, vow renewal, bridal shower, party, and don't know where to start, this is the place to be. When you first walk in to the hotel, you get a feel of "Great Gatsby" grandeur, with Chandeliers and ornate woodwork throughout. The best part is that everything you need is here, You have numerous room options to choose from for your event, a place for you and your guests to stay overnight, a spa with numerous therapies and services, a lounge piano bar and so much more. You'll actually be able to enjoy your guests in a smaller more intimate setting than you would get from the assembly line hotel chains. I was clueless on how to plan my event and when I met Maria Touloumis Assistant Director of Catering, as corny as it sounds, my dream event came true. She not only saw my vision, she was able to work within my budget, had excellent suggestions and made sure everything was executed to perfection. Honestly, if you have an event and need an amazing place to have it, this is the place. You'll be happy you did. Andrea S.
Old facility, being kept up fairly well. Spa treatments expensive but the massage we had was very good. Three pools, one a resort pool very nice with ice bar/restaurant,two pools for spa one heated one not. Jacuzzi, steam rooms, sauna. Full spa offerings. Great pool bar some rooms have nice views. Staff is somewhat disorganized, some staff good some not so good.
Staff was quite friendly and professional, so 5 stars that. The hotel itself gets 2 stars because there are multiple things that are quite outdated and needs updating. Our door had difficulty closing due to a bad repair job. One of ceiling tiles in our room was falling down. Bed was comfortable. View was nice. AC worked well. Room was quiet. TV was very slow at changing channels. Half of the outlet near the bed was broken. I did not do any spas so I can't say anything about that. Overall, the service/sleep means much more to me than the little maintenance issues, so 4 stars overall.
I've never been so disrespected. We came here last year and had an amazing experience so we came back to book our room for this year. We walked up to the front desk and asked to book a room, the woman took our card and ID and booked whatever she wanted without asking us what we wanted or confirming any selections with us as she answered the phone repestedly. We had a package in mind and were ready to ask and price check different rooms. When she handed us our reservation we asked if that included the package we wanted she replied "we didn't discuss that" and then when we asked for her to add on the packed we had planned for she complained "there are 100 people waiting to check in". We left with intentions to return and fix it later. When we returned a few hours later we asked for the manager. Gus greeted us and promptly told us there was "nothing he could do" to change or alter our reservation. Gus why are you the manager if you cannot help guests at your front desk? We are not wealthy people and spending 300 or more dollars for us is a big deal, to be basically ignored while booking us an unknown room and then told by the manager there was nothing he could do for us is incredible for a place we held in such high esteem. If this was our first experience with the facility we would have left and never returned.
I walked all around this place pushing an old junly luggage cart looking for my room. The signs on the wall didn't show my room number. I took a pic of the sign and asked two front desk clerks about it. They both laughed and said they didn't know. The mgr didn't seem to care either. After that I Sat in the lobby with some water and the stylish round table about fell over when I set the water cup on it. This place is old, poor condition and reeks of bad attitude. Not to mention, it's over priced. I'm sure in its time, it was a beautiful place. It's sliding down hill very fast .
Very nice resort we had a great time. As far as the Spa setting the resort needs to be more clean up grade all sheets, towels, robes and whatever else customer may need for a better Spa experience. I was not able to enjoy the remaining of my trip because of the turn off from my massage experience. I went in for my massage and suddenly notice some sort of stain on the sheet for the massage table, the I noticed dry up water stains on the the headrest sheet. After I changed the the sheets myself I started to take off my shoes and notice that the floor was wet/sticky. This is when I pulled out my camera. I snapped a few pictures just to show others what to look for. But very nice resort just need a huge upgrade.
Wow, wow, wow! Is all I can say. The building is beautiful the staff is wonderful and if you choose a massage therapist definitely go with Heather Robinson I felt so comfortable they even warm the sheets! You get use of the pool and sauna. But the restaurant is lacking and they need to be more time conscious when we have strict blocks of time for treatments.
