It's a nice place. Aside from the mud. Plenty to do here in the summer. I've enjoyed my stay so far.

So we were going to go to S&H Campground in Geenfeild. PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE read all reviews before putting a deposit on a site. They are over priced they cost more than a state park a night and the fun stuff for the kids is not included you have to pay extra. I didn't even want to give it one star but I had to, very poor customer service.
1. Put a deposit down on a site and I was never told it wasn't refundable. Oh and here is the kicker you get your site when you get there you can't choose your own.
2. I called and said we wouldn't be able to come and would like my deposit back. That is when I found out its non refundable. The guy said we keep the deposit for a later date for a year. And I said I would not be camping there next year. He said how do you know? I told him because I wouldn't be going they far to camp. So then he takes my name and number and would get back to me.
3. Still hadn't heard from him called I him back, after this conversation I was under the impression I would get my money back. Well its been about 2 weeks now still no money..
To me this is a legal way of stealing, if you are not going to do what you say then don't lie to me.response / report this review -

THE OWNER STOLE OUR MONEY. I called in May 2017 to ask about reservations for December. The owner, Jay, assured us that it was his policy to refund our money if in fact my husband wouldn't end up working in that area for a month. It turned out we will not need to go there. I called eight times asking for a refund. Each call was forwarded to Jay's cell phone and he kept saying he would refund me our money, but never did. His lies continued and he began insulting me when I called. $520 is a lot of money to have stolen from you without your consent. NEVER DO BUSINESS WITH THIS UNETHICAL person. Check out his BBB rating if you don't believe me.

As much as I'd like to say good things, I can only say that a 2 star rating is extremely generous. Arriving after dark to find that all the "pull through" spaces were flooded. We were given a space with no water or sewer connection. There are lots of possible activities, but they are all very run down. Many campsites are obviously full time, but are terribly run down. There's even one camper beside the main "very rough gravel" road that has a fallen limb through the awning which has been there for quite some time. Camper spaces are too close together and poorly kept with open sewage connections and some dangerous looking electrical posts. Restroom/Showers are dirty and severely lacking in maintenance. The laundry mat has no wall coverings or ceiling. Insulation batts only.
The whole place looks and feels like it is owned by an industrious founder's lazy children. Hopefully the poor ratings will motivate someone to clean it up before it goes out of business.response / report this review -

We went here at the beginning of the season on memorial day weekend and I never had a chance to write a review, but really wanted to. The 3 stars are because the kids had an absolute blast - everything else was pretty awful. The customer service was nonexistent. We went without electric the first night and was never refunded for that. I plugged into my step-dad's camper the next day until they finally fixed our outlet just before bed Saturday night. They never pumped my dad or us out and our tanks were full by Sunday (my dad called several times requesting a pump). They were supposed to find me a water hose because ours wasn't long enough to hook up and I paid for a hook up. I ended up having to fill our tank up instead of hooking up and was never refunded for that. Filling up our tank was the worst idea ever because our pipes still smell disgusting from their gross, horrifying water. My dad told them his Big Rig would get stuck if they put us in wet grass, but they did anyways - sure enough, he got stuck. We waited for 2 HOURS for them to come pull him out with their tractor and they acted very annoyed that we were stuck even though it was completely their fault. The pool was FREEZING COLD and kids were playing basketball keeping my baby awake until after 11 at night when I finally went out there and asked them to stop. If my kids didn't have so much fun, I would never be back. Unfortunately, they are still asking us to go there again before the end of the season. We will see if it is any better next time.

This guy is so shady, I wouldn't even give him one star. We rented an RV from him after our house was hit by a tornado in August of 2016. We had to put down a $500 deposit. In December the RV was returned cleaner than when it was delivered to us, and we have been trying to get our deposit back from him since January 2017. He lies, and will cheat you out of any money he can get away with and he knows how to do it! BEWARE!!

I have never written a bad review of any place, but I feel like people should know this. My husband called to reserve a month long stay, because we are from out of town and he was possibly going to be working in Indiana for at least a month. In order to reserve our spot we were asked to give a card number. We were told that the money would NOT be taken out of our account/card until we arrived at the campground. We called back within the hour to cancel our reservation and were promised that no money would be charged. Instead $520 dollars was taken out of our account. We have been trying to get a refund for a month now. We have been lied to multiple times by this campground. DO NOT trust them. I am so disappointed.

Just left this morning . We were there for a week . Usually stay at a KOA . However they were booked. Service there was horrible . Cabins are bare bone . No flooring just ply wood floors and no wall coverings . You have a fan and a small window unit . Your tv consist of rabbit ears !! No bathroom , no shower ! There bath house is severly out dated ! There are NO doors on the shower or toilet areas ! There is only a older shower curtain hanging . No way for anyone to know you are in there or give privacy ! We were going to leave and the owner rented me a camper instead . The camper was a newer one and very nice and roomy . The bad was we had to go get cleaning supply's at a nearby store to clean it . It had not been cleaned from the previous guest ! I had to go pee really bad on arrival and go to the bathroom and flush it . Immediately almost threw up !!! The smell hit my husband on the opposite end of the camper quickly ! He was like OMG what is that !!!??? I was gagging and opened the door to the entrance to the camper . Needless to say later on found out that the tank had NOT been cleaned as well or dumped since previous quest . All I can say is we had to open all the vents all windows and all doors to get the smell out !! A older guy that helps cut the grass there that lives there seen me outside at 930 at night and offered to help . It was the tank ! Never had been cleaned ! Jesus !!! The smell !! At this point we still had not even unpacked ! So we again had to go purchase something for that ! Yes at OUR cost !! So after cleaning , vacuuming and cleaning a poop tank for this camper . We finally brought out things in. We go to get a shower and cut the shower on and the water smelled like BLOOD and had a horrible foul smell ! We could not wash in this water , drink it or even brush our teeth ! This remained the entire week ! Never again will I stay there again !!! NEVER!!

Never had the chance to stay but I reserved for a month and paid $520 I called back the next day and cancelled because I couldn't make it and a few days later they never gave my money back. I tried contacting them and they won't call me back and won't refund my money. They are crooks stay away from here.

Worst camping experience of my life. Water is nasty. Reserved a full hookup, but was given water electric only. Pump out service is a joke. Took two days to get it done. Had to call several times with no answer. It's really a trailer park with rv's. Avoid at all costs.

Absolutely loved this place!! we had reserved a campsite for our cub scout pack to camp in tents. I booked the reservation months ago. When it came time for our camping trip we realized that it was going to rain all weekend. we almost canceled but decided to chance it for the boys. we go there Friday evening around 6 and it was raining so hard along with thunder and lightning. I got us checked in and we went to put our tents up. we got the tents about half way up and a truck pulls up, and it was the lady who checked us in. she said "I cannot let you guys stay out in this rain, I also have a son and I know what its like". all of a sudden she pulls out 2 keys and says that they want to offer us the 2 cabins at no extra cost!!!! I can honestly say I don't think I have ever had someone do something that nice for us EVER! Everyone there is just so nice regardless of whether or not they no you. everyone says hi and waves. they had a pitch in dinner for everyone there and invited us to attend like we were part of the family. I have never in my life been to a camping facility with so much for kids to do from fishing(in 2 lakes), 2 playgrounds, a pool, a huge recreation/tv room with snack bar, restaurant, canoe, tiki bar. it is almost like a small community with everything you need we do not live to far from S&H but we will be returning every summer from now on. I don't think I have ever felt so welcomed by anyone like we did there.

This is a great campground. We travel for my husband's work and move often on short notice. They were very helpful to accommodate us without a reservation. All the staff are friendly and helpful. Nice and quiet in the country and not far to stores and Indianapolis.
