This location was on the 4th floor, just off the walkway from the parking lot.
It’s not fun sitting for 12 hours waiting for someone during their surgery. Having an experience that is convenient and somewhat comfortable is welcomed. I wish the chairs were softer to take a good nap.
Parking was very close and plenty of spaces available and the price was a reasonable $8.response / report this review -

The Best Hospital in Chicago. I've been with my daughter for her knees and shoulder problems. We're very happy with the outcome. Her physician is Dr Verna, a very excellent & compassion doctor. The staffs at Rush Hosp are warm hearted & polite. I've spread the word on how great Rush Hospital is towards the out-patient people. Thank you.

I have been seen at other hospitals, but Rush out rates them all. The physicians are caring, professional and take the time to listen to your concerns. I have been seen by various physicians and the staff whether, nursing, PA or office handle things in a professional manner. Although I live in a far south suburb I go out of my way to make sure my doctors are at this hospital. Even the emergency room gives one the feeling of a caring spirited team of professionals who care. Thank you Rush for hiring physicians that are concerned about their patients.

First i will start off with the good. Patience the nurses have and a listening ear as long as you keep low tone and little profanity if you are like I. As for as the doctors and how they make decision on prognosis, please understand this is a teaching hospital so the students are here to learn as the Dr.'s/facilities is here to teach and more focus on that then providing quality service. Its not about providing a service that benefit the patient it is more on teaching and making money then what is best OVERALL for the patient quality of health and the service the hospital provide. Just my experience. Quality of the patient over all health is not the focus

Its very clean place. Nice in the inside. But sometimes you dont always get the nicest nurses or doctors there. There's been times where the nurse has been really nice! And been doing an excellent job, always aware of your needs and always checking up on you. And there are doctors who really want to figure out what the problem is, and try to check up on you as often as they can. In the other hand there are nurses who seem not to care and seem to be in a bad mood. They have a serious face and a very bad attitude like if they dont want to be there, which I can understand but its their job to meet the patients needs. And some doctors are rude and they seem to just want to get you out of there instead of trying to figure out whats wrong. For instance, one time I took my friend for a very bad stomach pain, the doctor ask only a few questions and was a bit rude, and just discharged her. Later on she went back for the same reason and she requested a ultrasound and she had gallstones. So therefore you dont know who or what to expect. Overall the hospital itself is nice and clean and if they were to hire more people with better attitude and that care for their patients it'll be an excellent place.

I was having pains in my stomach and it was my first time needing to go to an ER in my life. I was nervous about long wait times and feeling ignored. To my surprise my experience could not have been handled any better. I walked in, said I needed to see a doctor and was taken back right away, was given a room right away and my concerns were all addressed within 20 minutes of being there. The nursing staff is excellent, they were constantly checking in, seeing if I needed anything and making sure my pain was taken care of. The doctors were very knowledgeable and I was correctly diagnosed and taken care of. I wouldn't wish a trip to the ER on anyone, but if you have to go anywhere, go here!

I am from New Jersey, when my doctor said I was going for my operation he said you can go to 1 or 2 places. California or Chicago.. I asked why He said because the east coast is way behind. They were just starting to perform this operation in NYC. So I asked him which he recommends? He said Chicago. SoI was at Rush in 1988 for the operation to correct my Seizure Disorder. This Facility was top of the line (back in 1988). The outcome is I"m seizure free since the operation. I still have seizure activity but that is controlled by medication.. Over all That operation saved my life. I work and always have before and after the operation.

I am in room 31 in the emergency room . I received terrible service . The older African American nurse that was assign to me around 2 pm was very rude . I needed help and press the button on my bed , 20 minutes later came and yell at me saying what did I need ! She was busy. This hospital is ridiculous and unprofessional. Sitting here in this hospital is a big mistake . No one here takes responsibility or ownership. They don't care about the patients. Terrible!

Hospital experience/surgery for my son was good. Valet parking was a different story. Used the valet parking in front of 1725 W. Harrison. I have a new car and was preoccupied with getting my son home after 6 hours at the hospital. Noticed that there was mud in wheel wells and fenders behind wheels. Mentioned it to driver and did a quick walk around and didn't notice any obvious damage. They were in a hurry to get me away from the hospitalI should have taken that cue and inspected a little closer. The tire inflation pressure light came on. I should have turned around and went back but I had to tend to my son. Got him home and situatednoticed the damage to the front tire and rim. There was no damage on the car when it was dropped off. Called the Valet and they will not do anything about it because I left the hospital. I recommend to not use the valetthere are some very dishonest people working there. If you do feel like you have to use valet take a few minutes and go over your car carefully. They have you because most people leaving the hospital are not in the correct frame of mind and are usually more concerned about their patient then their car.

Rush ER is the worst. I will be reaching out to the CEO of this hospital as well. It is 9:30 on a Sunday. There are people in this waiting room that have been waiting since 3:30 pm. The staff is unprofessional and rude. One of the patients stated that she heard a doctor say, " oh give that patient some pain medicine, so that they can hurry up and go". This type of behavior in a hospital setting is completely unacceptable. No one wants to come to the hospital. In addition for the staff to be joking, laughing, and discuss personal affairs, does not appeal well especially when this is suppose to be a top ranking establishment. Maybe a little retraining on caring and compassion along with understanding may assist this facility. The sad part is that I work in healthcare and this is quite embarrassing. I hope this helps and makes a difference.

My baby was delivered at Rush. What a horrible experience with the staff during my labor and recovery. I know that Rush is a teaching hospital however, you would think the doctors would teach the physician assistants how to communicate and work together effectively. Not the case. No one properly introduce themselves, different assistance would come in and out of my room with the same robotic verbatim speech. The attending doctor did not read my medical records before talking to me and stated that I would need to have a full hysterectomy and blood transfusion during my C section procedure. Which was not the case. (perhaps he read the wrong medical chart) He apologized for giving me incorrect information. However, at this point I was devastated. During my recovery process and stay at Rush the Nurses weren't very helpful and took quite a while to respond to my needs. I do not recommend this hospital if you plan to deliver your child.

I was admitted to RUSH emergency a few months ago and the physician assistant asked when I had my last pap smear? I let him know a week prior to my visit but he still ordered REALLY expensive tests that I already had results for.
This hospital strives to offer patients transparency of services but they fail to do this from the minute you walk into hospital in some many ways.
- Rush is a teaching hospital and I had a physician assistant who was all over the place, barely said more than five sentences that was relevant to my health concerns. Physician assistants should introduce themselves as such so patience who are able to speak can request a real doctor.
- Services rendered weren't clearly communicated to me. He was selective about tests he was ordering and proceeded to order tests that I refused. It's unethical to order tests a patient hasn't agreed to!!!! My situation was not life threatening and these tests couldn't have been necessary because on call Gynecologist only reviewed scans with me and nothing else.
Your physician assistants shouldn't order unnecessary tests because they are unsure of course of treatment. They should be trained to access the situation and involve the appropriate team members if they are unable to help.response / report this review -

I’m writing this review the day after surgery. I was very fortunate in that I only had the excruciating pain for 6 weeks before surgery, but if you are ever thinking about having back surgery, or need to have back surgery, I highly recommend seeing Dr. Harel Deutsch and having the surgery performed at Rush University. I don’t care if he’s not warm and fuzzy during the appointment, I want someone who has the brains, hands, and experience to open my back up and fix the disc, and I got that with Dr. Deutsch. I was referred to him by a family friend in November, and was fortunate to be put on their high priority appointment cancellation list. I’ll never know the name of the person who cancelled their 9:30am appointment on Wednesday December 7th, but I can’t thank you enough. If I knew who you were, I would send you the biggest Christmas fruit basket. I was able to get in and see Dr. Deutsch and due to my severe condition (bulging disc at L5/S1, radiating, throbbing, shooting sciatic pain down my left leg from butt to toe) he scheduled me for surgery on Monday December 12th. His nurse Candice came in and was awesome getting my physical and bloodwork scheduled at Rush THAT DAY so I didn’t have to go do it anywhere else. I went in for surgery at 11:30am and walked to my Mom’s car for the drive home at 5pm, that’s how fast it was. The recovery nurses did an amazing job feeding me what I call the Southwest Airlines meal (Ginger Ale and crackers), monitored my vitals, and took great care of me. After being in post op recovery for 45 minutes I was wheeled down to a bay where I could see my Mom. I was able to stand up and get off the gurney and sit in a chair to talk with my Mom without any leg pain. After 15 minutes the nurse had me get up and walk to the bathroom down the hall, use it, and walk back. At that point I was discharged. Today, Dr. Deutsch personally called me to check and see how I was doing and I told him that it’s euphoric. I can walk around my place with no leg pain, and there is just a little tenderness at the incision spot. I was able to shower today for the first time in 6 weeks and enjoyed eating food again. Thanks to all of the great people at Rush, Dr. Deutsch, your surgical team, and all of the nurses. I hope I never have to have a surgery of any kind ever again, but if I do, you have a patient for life. Happy Holidays to everyone at Rush!

The nurses are the best! They compassionate, professional and friendly! However, this is a teaching hospital. So if you get admitted, you doctor will have a gaggle of interns.

It's been 6 years that rush saved my life after having open- heart surgery! I am now good! I love the doctors and nurses here:)

Nice doctors, nurses, and workers. Clean and attractive facility. They care about the well-beings of their patients. I'll recommend RUSH to anybody needing medical attention any day, any time!

Rush Hospital has the Best , most thoughtful Kind Hearted Doctors ,nurses , staff . They are all some Excellent Saints and Rush Hospital Should Be Given Their Proper Accolades. They Should be given Their Proper Respect and Honor as Well . The Entire Saint Ran Facility of Rush Hospital Gets a 1000 Rating From Real People. Keep up the excellent work Rush Hospital Employees .
