Worst body shop and maintenance department ever! It’d be best if you never need anything done because these clowns will destroy it or find it insignificant and put it off until they’re tired of playing with themselves and decide to service the customers needs.
Every time I'm here I'm reminded again of why I hate coming here for service. Called ahead yesterday and told them I wanted to get in and out as quick as possible for an oil change. Service rep suggested 2pm as that's when they're usually slow. Get there today and am quoted an hour and forty-give minutes for a simple oil change. I could do it myself in 20 minutes but wanted to avoid the cold weather in my garage. Lesson learned. If you're strapped for cash or time, avoid at all costs.
Edit: Changing to 1-star to include what happened at 'checkout'. It ended up taking approximately 2 hours. Also, they rotated my tires when I asked them not to. Fortunately I was able to talk them out of the $10, but now I have to rotate them back myself. I also never received any results from the 'multi-point' inspection besides a verbal, "You're leaking oil". According to the invoice, it looks like they did some kind of warranty work (maybe that's what took 2 hours) but they made no mention of it to me before, during, or after so who knows.
James was very straight forward and friendly salesman. Nice to get a full tank on new car purchase! Overall good experience!
I couldn't have been more pleased with the customer service I got at Royal South. I contacted them after I found a truck online and Andy got back to me right away. He was very helpful and great to deal with. I drove three hours to get there and decided even though the truck was a great deal and exactly what they told me it was, I was actually not ready to purchase a truck. Larry, the salesperson, Andy, and everyone that I dealt with were very understanding and professional. When I am ready to buy, I will be willing to drive to Royal South again.
Superb service and great prices on new and used cars as well as on parts and service. I've been a loyal customer and purchased my last four cars here.
Brought my vehicle to the collision center there to be repaired. Did an excellent job fixing it and then so in a timely fashion. Would definitely recommend
We just bought a new Toyota Highlander from Larry Mullinnix at Royal South. It was the smoothest car buying experience we have ever had. Larry was very knowledgeable about the vehicle and could answer any questions, so thank you Larry!!!
Also, a big thank you to Brad Surian for taking care of us too!
I would highly recommend buying a vehicle from them as everyone was so nice!!!!!
I have had some pretty rough experiences here, enough to never want to come here again. Dropping off a car for an oil change and asking for the brake pads to be checked as they were rather weak along with the alignment I was told it would be ready to be picked up at 2pm. Ended up not being ready until closer to 4pm, which I could forgive despite interfering with plans, but the alignment machine was "out of paper" for the report but "checked out just fine" and when I asked about the brake pads- "oh they're just fine, probably 60% left at least. The majority of Prius braking is done by the engine so you don't have to worry about the pads as much".. Right So just because I'm in my late twenties and look a certain way its easy to assume I know nothing about my vehicle? I chose to pay mechanics to save myself time with things I could easily do myself. Upon their employee saying all this to my face, I immediately took it to another shop who was kind enough to squeeze me in last minute for their hours and watched the wheels come off to look at the pads myself and they were in dire need of replacement before being highly ineffective, and the alignment was off due to a bad joint on the tie rod which I also verified while on the lift. This is just one vehicle horror story, and the other was in regards to an inspection on a work vehicle for my former job which was not done properly and would have had the potential to cost me thousands had I not went and had a second inspection done post Royal's.
Just avoid if you can, and if you cannot be very weary.
Recently purchased RAV4 from Ryan. I was worried because it was my first time buying a car. But Ryan helped me a lot. He was cool and the process was very quick. Only thing that I think they could do better was that they did not explain details about Toyota Care. Other than that, there is nothing to complain. It was a pleasant experience.
I've visited this location several times, as several other auto shops did not have the necessary parts for my Corolla. My last two visits to Royal South, heavily influenced my rating. On the second to last visit, I requested to have my brakes checked and oil change. I brought my car in at 9 am with the assurance that I would have it back by noon. I called at noon and again at 2:30 pm only to be informed that it hadn't even been looked at. Finally at 5:15 pm I was able to pick my car up and was told that my brakes were fine but needed work on the ball joint. I brought my car back a week later. This time I was firm with the time that I needed it back. I received my car in ample time, however my car now has a squeak to it and a hub cap fell off (and was lost) that same day. I also was not shown where my car was, so I walked the lot looking for it by myself. While Royal South may service your car, it will cost you financially, hours of your time, and you may be addressed in a condescending tone.
Made an appointment to have a recall fixed, and they told me 2 to 4 hours to complete the work. 4 hours being the high end. I was told I should have had my truck back by 2 o'clock, but when I called at 3:30 they told me it would be done until 4:30 or 5. If the job takes longer they should just quote you that amount of time, and maybe call when they are going take over 3 hours longer than was said.
And this is not the first bad experience with Royal on the South side. Plus I have heard from many other Toyota owners about how bad the work and service they have received. Be aware of this before you go. Might be worth the drive to Indianapolis or Avon to get serious repairs done. Just my opinion
Nice friendly staff. Purchased a car without any hassle. Quick and easy transaction.
I bought a 2010 Camry here about 16 months ago from Dave. Overall I cant complain. I have not had any trouble with the car yet and its been running great, cause its a Camry ya' know. The only bad thing was the touch-up paint on some minor scraps (it had 100k miles), its not that bad of touch-up but it could be better. Then again maybe they didn't do the touch-up, I can't say. I would consider looking hear again in the future.
I would highly recommend Royal South for any and all car/maintenance challenges. After experiencing multiple problems with my 2005 Toyota Matrix, I decided to take it to Royal South to have it examined and diagnosed.
I was greeted by Jan Scott who made the overall experience at a car dealership pleasant and convenient. Upon dropping my vehicle off, I was shuttled back to my home via their Guest Shuttle Service. (I forgot the driver's name but he works Fridays).
Jan and the service crew were looking out for my best interests as well as vehicle safety. Oil changes and common maintenance/services are competitively priced.
Jan also called me to inform me of the services required for my vehicle. I would also rate their service as stellar because I received a physical copy of a multi-point checklist/inspection sheet that informed me what needed immediate attention.
Thank you Jan & Royal South Toyota!
I have given four stars for my overall experience with Royal South but that is the average of two sets of experiences that I have had.
My sales experience with Andy Long was easily a 5-star experience. He was professional, patient (not pushy like other salesmen I have experienced at other dealers), and very matter-of-fact which I appreciate. I got a quality vehicle at a fair price and would definitely buy from him again.
My service experience has only been a 3-star experience so far however. I had identified a minor defect in the Highlander we were looking at and it was agreed upon before purchasing that it would be fixed by their service people. We brought the car in after purchasing it and were given a nice loaner vehicle to drive while they worked on it. The repair took a little longer than expected but I was informed it was because their first attempt didn't work and they needed to send it to their body shop. Unfortunately it is still not functioning properly but I have been given the go ahead to bring it in again. I am slated to bring the Highlander back in soon with hopes of getting fixed for good this time.
This hasn't been a major inconvenience as again, we were given a nice loaner vehicle to use while ours was in repair. I just would have hoped to have it fixed right the first time. If everything is fixed right this time around I will update to five stars.
