Mussels tasted good, but the soup, the scallops, and the filet mignon were over-seasoned. They were too salty. If three separate dishes are too salty, I can assume most of the menus are the same way. Other reviewers also mentioned food being too salty as well. Considering the cost vs taste, I don't think I am coming back with my money, but if someone buys me something here I might try again.
I've tried other high end restaurants, like Harry & Izzy's in Indianapolis, food is never too salty but just perfectly seasoned.
This place was so good we went two nights in a row. The drinks, particularly the bloody sicilian were amazing. We also tried lasagna, mussels, spaghetti and chicken - all fabulous. The area is really romantic and tucked away, I look forward to going back here.
This was our anniversary dinner and it did not disappoint. Located in the historic "Oregon district" with complimentary valet service. The hostess was exceptionally friendly and I was seated right away (on-line reservation) even though I was early. We ordered soup and crustinis to start and followed with the salmon and fillet. Other then being very salty both items were extremely good! The Salmon was cooked very well (towards too much) and was served on a bed of pasta in pesto sauce (nice compliment), but the king of the event was the fillet!!!!! This may be one of the best fillet's I have had in Dayton!! Very high end meat that was served nicely with garlic mashed potatoes. We were late to a show at the Shuster center so we didn't have time for dessert.
Who knew Dayton could do this well.
One of my favorite Dayton Chefs, Dana Downs, and one of my favorite Dayton restaurants. The menu is always exciting and fit for any foodie. Great selection of wines and hand crafted drinks to compliment your meal or to enjoy while chatting with friends. Love it.
Excellent food & service. Recently celebrated our anniversary here during restaurant week so we tried some new things and we're as delighted as ever. Great wine list, superb food & wonderful service on a Sunday evening.
Amazing food and service. A Dayton classic for fine dining. Free valet is a huge advantage over trying to find parking on the city streets.
Overall quality meal. We started with the arancini and grilled artichokes, both of which were very tasty. The scallops were excellent but the accompanying mushroom and asparagus ravioli were somewhat bland (not horrible but not great either). Very good vibe and atmosphere.
The filet and salad were very tasty. Several items on menu "out of stock today," including the grilled salmon. Very friendly, well-informed server. Will try again maybe on a weekend when they are not so busy.
A Dayton food gem. Flavors worthy of a foodie! Prices are a bit high, but not outrageous. So, it's more of an occasional visit for us.
I love this place!! Every time I've been here, the food is great, the service is great, and the drinks are great! Highly recommend if you're in the area!
This place is absolutely excellent. Been here 3 times and I love it! Our waiter Michael was awesome and the food was delicious. The pork chop special was very excellent.I eat out a lot I am from Pittsburgh and would go to this place every week if it was in Pittsburgh. Highly recommend.
