Just graduated with a B.S degree in electrical engineering from RIT. I transferred from MCC, which was a much better school! (Especially for the price difference). Was told by several students that MCC had prepared students far better than RIT for the 3rd and 4th year classes.

This institute has a plethora of resources from which students can acquire practical knowledge in the working field, as well as obtain relevant coursework for their respective major. All in all, this college is highly recommended for the NTID (deaf students), engineering students, and those pursuing a computer-related major.

They have so many resources that students can take advantage of to really push towards their dream career. This college is great if you are into engineering, technologies, or science. I personally went for photography and all the professor's in my major were professional and some were well known photographers! It was really amazing to be taught by professionals all around. Truly great school.

Overpriced for profit school. I was able to get a decent education there but I feel like the first class they offer should be about paying back your student loans. Although that would probably greatly increase the drop-outs.

Not a fan, I went there for a conference about marketing yourself in business. Was there for 4 hours and 1 hour was learning and the rest was a recruiting ploy for you to go to RIT not a fan when I already committed to a college and wasted a day

Rensselaer Institute of Technology, or "The RIT Institute of Technology" for short, is among the top 8 best Institutes of Technology in New York City. They have a university-famous hockey team, represented by their mascot, the Sun Devil.
Tip for the class of 2019: Only the freshmen call it by its full name; if you don't want to sound like a frosh, be sure to use the moniker "Ole Miss". Semper RI

RIT is my second home. If you're looking to go here, especially as an undergrad, do yourself a favor and live on campus or as close to it as possible. Immerse yourself, get the full experience. RIT has a wonderful eclectic culture that I haven't found anywhere else on earth. Winter can be a drag over here, but that doesn't make the community or school any less amazing. RIT is wonderful and the friends that I've made in my time here are among the best. We've only graduated three years ago, but we still reminisce about our years here. You will be challenged, but you will learn a lot. Don't forget to have fun!

I am the grandmother of an RIT student. I have had fabulous experiences with every staff member with whom I have interacted. Although I do not get to visit campus often (Florida is a little far away!), I find a vibrant atmosphere whenever I am there. And, most importantly, my granddaughter is thriving!

not worth for international students who are looking to work in USA after master's. It's good for US students in terms of core study. but if you are looking for market oriented study.. you need to be cautious for chosing department. mostly Industrial department gives funding, but again feature work is a hurdle. CS and electrical are famous but it feels all business in terms of international students. Also the college is at remote location, so it's hard to get interviews calls. you only had to depend on career fair. IST department is bit market oriented but you need to learn a lot of things on top of that by yourself. If you will depend on-campus job for your expenses it will again eat up your valuable time and you will feel it as waste of money and you important time of career. There are so many student at present across the USA that it's hard to get into job, just because of remote location and high expenses. Many professors are unpredictable and biased to their judgment..

The teachers are great. The education is good. The facilities are excellent. But that isn't enough to save the experience. Life outside of class is brutal. The experience all together is brutal. The dorm life is terrible, the RIT INN is bad also. Apartments are overpriced from the premium ones to the unfurnished ones. The food was pound for pound the most awful food I ever had to eat in my life. The school is like 80% Male 20 % Female and out of that 20% less than 5% is attractive. So don't expect on meeting any dream girls here the chances are slim compared to other colleges. The weather is terrible, The parties don't kick it half as good as some other colleges, drugs run high here with Rochester being a warehouse city for drugs, The campus is so massive parking spots are at least a half mile away at times many times further. Lots of prank fire alarms getting pulled more often than not in the middle of the nigh. The public safety and student conduct system is rather garbage compared to other colleges due to the fact that many of the reports they receive are rigged to target another student they don't like (yes the university can be that childish sometimes they still play with nerf guns) . Everything on campus is expensive, undersized, and downgraded. The ATM machines want 4 bucks not including your own bank fees, domestic beers are 6 bucks imports are 9. The groceries are terrible unless you go off campus. Lastly there's the campus that is built on swampy wetlands and it's always soggy and miserable long after storms have passed too.

I'm thankful for the education I got it was good. But the overall experience, If I could do it all over again I think I'd take a chance elsewhere. Education is important and lots of opportunity come from it. But the experience outside of class is priceless. It's far more important because many people build the foundation of their future off of what they get from the overall experience. Education is just a tool to build off of the foundation and nothing will ever change that regardless of how nice facilities and teachers are at RIT. The experience is the foundation the education is what you use to build off it.

This place was just okay. Certain foods in cafeterias made me sick. RIT's transport system was limited. But I enjoyed excellent interpreting services and found some classes interesting.
