If you need to shop for running shoes this is the place. They have lots of options, shoe fitting, knowledgeable staff and a good return policy that allows you to try out shoes and return if they’re not just right. Good clothing and accessory options as well. You can shop online as well but I like coming into the store to try things on.
Spend a good amount of time in their clearance section to save. I've bought 3 for 150.... today it was 60 per pair when you buy two or more so it was still a great offer. Put a little effort in finding a pair you like too and enjoy life, don't complain, treat others with respect, and love everyone. From one hippie to another hippie, you/the reader of this message, this is the place to go.
Over the past several years roadrunner sports keeps stealing from me - I signed up for the VIP membership several years ago and after the first year I asked them to cancel the membership. They were very understanding at the time of my request, tried talking me into keeping it active but when I insisted they said it was taken care of. Then I received a membership charge the following November after my first request. I disputed the charge - they offered up many apologies, stated they understood my upset, said they could not offer a refund as the charge had gone through but assured me it would not happen again as they made sure THIS time (still several years ago) that the membership was definitely terminated. Then I received another charge. I went into their facility at that time and spoke to someone directly. As the charge was occurring (pending) on my credit card they were able to stop it/refund me, profusely apologized, and assured me this time the glitch was correct. Fast forward to today and I noticed a roadrunner VIP charge AGAIN on my credit card....I looked over my statement for the past year and there was also another charge back in Nov of 2016. They keep stealing from me after I have said many, many, many times I do not want to be in the VIP membership program. Every time I ask them to cancel my membership they tell me they do, they assure me it will not happen again, and yet they continue to charge me. They are liars, they are thieves.
Love the shoes I bought! The sales people really take time and care to make sure you get a great fit. Only complaint... sometimes they can really try to hard sell on other products.
Large selection of shoes, but over priced. You're expected to pay more for good service, which I understand. But, they have terrible customer service there. So, why do I pay more?
You have to wait in line to be seated for your own salesperson. Ok. But, while we were there, our salesperson didn't help us with shoes, just tried to sell us socks. He spent all his time with the other people in his area, while we had to flag down another salesperson to help us get a few shoes to try on.
Ended up buying a pair of shoes, but made sure it was listed with the associate who actually put forth the effort to help us.
The other time I was there, a different associate tried to sell me size 11 Nike's when I said they were a bit tight. I wear size 9.5 to 10. Instead of recommending another brand or something style, he tried to convince me to buy size 11. Not just offer, but actually try to convince me that size 11 would also work.
These guys work off of commission so many salespeople have no qualms about just making the sale whether or not it will be a good fit.
I'm sure with that many people working there, there will be some good people (like the other associate who finally did help us when we flagged him down), but just be wary that you don't get conned if you happen to get the one who is trying to make the sale regardless.
This is the only running store I go to anymore. I visit once every two years to replace my shoes and restock on marathon training snacks/clothes. It is perfect, with the trained sales associates who know what you need based on how you run and how often.
A good selection of shoes and great customer service. Love the return policy, especially with the VIP membership.
Came in to get a pair of running shoes. I like the selection, but the sales person insisted on doing some sort of runners evaluation where they measure my feet (fine) and then have me run on a treadmill (not fine) to judge my style of running. I never run on a tread mill and so I was stumbling all over the place and ended up getting recommended the wrong pair of shoes.
They should let experienced runners who know what their buying come in and just get what they want without staff insisting on all this high tech stuff.
Regardless, because of the good selection, will probably keep coming here to check out the latest shoes.
I bought a pair of running shoes here nearly 2 years ago. Going to get my next pair here. I highly recommend the "super feet" insoles. They take cameras and watch you run barefoot on a treadmill and analyze your ankle and foot movements. They then recommend what type of shoes will give you the support you need, and finally make a custom molded insole for your shoes. It's well work the money.
I absolutely love road runner. When I need gear for my runs I know I can find it here. I also appreciate the supportive culture through the promotion of community runs. I am a proud VIP and that's not about to change. But PLEASE do something about the customer service via phone!!! The prompt directing me to go online and wait on the line for a customer service rep is really unacceptable when I have a quick question about the return policy - just connect to a human please. I never got my question answered because I waited 10 MINUTES and I wasn't waiting longer than that for a 2 second yes or no answer to my question...
Again. I love the store. But that customer service has to improve.
Obviamente no volveremos.
I love the Shoe Dog. The technology is amazing. I hate the upselling of everything. If you can live with that, the selection of shoes is fantastic.
Loved the whole experience here. The staff was super helpful and helped me pick the perfect pair of shoes! I'll be coming back when I need a new pair and would recommend this place to anyone looking for shoes.
It's a little out of the way for San Diego, but it's worth the drive because it has a huge selection and even if you think you are paying a bit more you get personal service and you get all these cool foot tests included so you know you are getting the right shoe. You can also wear the shoe for a month or something and still bring it back if you don't love it. You might have to be a part of the reward program for that, but it's worth the $25 bc you get a discount on stuff and the return thing. duh. Pro-tip: don't pay extra for the fancy schmancy insoles if you are just doing everyday wear. The green store brand ones are half the price and just as good.
This is place is good, if you want complete running action at one place.
They have amazing profiling for your running and feet in action. They recommend shoes based on your results and also
Highly recommend to Buy VIP membership, you will get back your money soon through your VIP discounts.
VIP Benefits: 90 day VIP return time, You get 10% off your first purchase, When you buy two customized insole you get 25% discount on both.
Downs:
Service here is slow. More than service they are like bunch of marketing people trying to force in their products.
Very expensive
