Absolutely love River Ventures! The folks are as friendly as they come here! You're treated like a family member that's been missed and loved. This was my tenth year swimming with the Manatees with them and I will not go with anyone else! These guys are family here! Wade was my Captain for the third year and amazing as usual! Our in water guide was Emerson and he was great! You can't go wrong when you go with River Ventures!!!

Epic, the manatees came right up to our faces and let us pet them. Staff was extremely friendly. Started our tour at about 8:30 and there was no one out there with us except a volunteer group that were watching us. Tons of manatee, so many that you couldn't go 10 seconds without seeing one. If you do not want it to be crowded and you want there to be tons of manatee, go in the morning. They make sure you have a wet suit with a perfect fit. Even though it was freezing outside, the water was 72 degrees because of the springs, and our wetsuits kept us warm. Incredible experience

We had a wonderful in the water guide Sheena, and nice captain John B, with the best experience we could have hoped for! Lots of interaction with manatees, babies and adults! We also went to Three Sisters Springs and had an amazing encounter with manatees in that beautiful clear water! It was a great day and we recommend this company to anyone!

This was our first time with manatee and we overall really enjoyed the experience. Right from the beginning I got separated from the group as I ran into a bunch of manatee but didn’t get pics of this because I was away from our guide who had an underwater cam. Though interacting with the manatee was amazing!! We went to the Crystal River area and Sister Springs. Crystal River was pretty murky and busy with lots of tourists even early in the AM but Sister Springs was crystal clear and pristine, although not really any manatees except for in protected areas. Would have been nice to interact with them in the clear waters, though I guess they grow in numbers as it gets into Dec and Jan. We would like to go back during those months next year.

Don’t bother paying an extra $10 for the full face snorkel masks, even with anti fog spray they fogged up constantly and my mask leaked even as tight as it would go. We ended up having to switch out to regular snorkel gear which interrupted our experience. If you can I’d recommend paying extra for the semi private tour or even doing the full private. We only had one other person in our group so it was more intimate and the photos we paid for didn’t have a bunch of other people in them. Also our boat had a bathroom and they served us snacks and hot cocoa.

Had a great time. Me and the wife drive an 18 wheeler. Parking lot across the street was very accommodating. We had Sheena as a guide, very friendly, made us feel like we go there every day.
Capt Stark, was very knowledgeable of the water and places around town to visit..
All the staff make you feel welcome and like you've been there forever

Really enjoy what they had to offer and go out of their way to produce what they advertise. Best deal for the money. If you want to see manatees, this the place. They know their stuff and then some.

Wonderful experience from the moment we arrived (free parking) walked through the door to an extremely genuine and friendly welcome. (Complimentary coffee & tea) (restrooms and changing rooms available) Don’t forget to bring a towel. If you do you can purchase a towel at the very reasonable priced gift shop with everything manatee. Short 5 minutes bus ride with a friendly driver to the boat. Meet the captain (we had Rhonda Fantastic person along with Crystal our in water guide equity Fantastic) all staff very knowledgeable and engaging. I have never enjoyed tour staff so much and I use to go on tours weekly as part of my job. The tour was breathtaking and an amazing life experience, manatee’s are wonderful creatures, I also seen cat fish, crabs and more.
Well worth paying a little more fore the snorkel mask upgrade. They have a pre-tour briefing to go over engagement rules and safety for your safety, the environment and the manatee. Have a wonderful time. I know you will.

If I could give them more than 5 stars I would! We came with a group of 5 on the semi-private tour on the pontoon of privilege with Tanner and Irish Dave and we all had an amazing time! We arrived at 6:30 am for the 6:45 am tour and were greeted with smiling faces, the sweetest dog, and hot coffee! You can tell all of the staff love what they do and have a true passion for it. Everyone was helpful and knowledgeable and got us set up in our wet suits ready to head to the boat. Tanner, our captain, and Irish Dave, our in-water guide/photographer , are awesome! You could tell they wanted to be out there and wanted to give us the best experience they could. They knew loads of information about all the different wildlife and the local springs. The boat was nice, new, and comfortable and also offered drinks (water, pop, alcohol) and snacks! In the water Irish Dave was great. He helped our entire group get close to the manatees and took outstanding pictures and videos that will last forever! We WILL be back this winter when there are more manatees and a bit clearer water and will request Tanner and Dave again and would recommend this company and the staff to everyone. Thank you for the amazing time!

Seeing manatees was an impromptu activity that turned out to be the favorite part of my trip! Captain Broderick and Kat were wonderful guides. Their knowledge, professionalism and great personalities really made the experience memorable. We were very fortunate to spend the morning floating with two manatees off the bat. I highly recommend using this company, their passion for the river and its creatures goes unmatched!

Dallas and Irish Dave were awesome. They helped my husband work through a phobia of water and helped make a memorable experience for me. We saw and floated along with a couple of manatees - a bucket list item for me. Great guys and the "shop girls" were nice too.

Me and my two daughters had a tour with Scott and John M to go to see manatees, and we really enjoyed it. Both of them were very friendly and funny which made our tour even better. They also were knowledgeable about manatees and they knew exactly where to go to look for them. Even though i didn't swim, my two daughters were, so Scott and John made them feel comfortable to go to meet these gentle giants (and a baby peanut!) for the first time ever. I would recommend River Ventures as a tour guide!

River Ventures was amazing! We are visiting from Toronto, Canada and only here for a limited amount of days. I had called a few times worried about the weather (forecasting rain all week!) and the staff was incredibly friendly and accommodating. They discussed options with us and accommodated a last minute date change which I am so grateful for! The weather for our tour this morning was perfect.

The guides (we had Scott and Casey) were awesome, very knowledgable and friendly. I had never snorkelled or kayaked before and I felt very comfortable doing both with them.

Not only was this a great experience, but I got to experience a manatee and her calf up close! Casey had scoped out the area before we got on the boat and was very respectful of the manatees but also tried his best to make sure we had a great tour and got to see them.

Would definitely recommend and will be back again if ever in the area.

Awesome trip with Captain Wade and Emerson. They guided us through every step and made us feel extremely comfortable. The captain stayed on the boat and told us where to go as Emerson swam with us. It's out of season and we spent at least 45 minutes with a group of 5-6 manatees. HIGHLY recommend :)

This was a bucket list trip for us for sure! We can't say enough great things about this company, and the overall experience! Since we visited the last weekend in March, we have told so many people what a great vacation this was! We were able to see several manatees swimming alongside us, and a few baby manatees even played with us for about 20 minutes! Who knew these animals were so friendly! We're planning to bring the whole family next year! Thank you River Ventures!
