I got a brand new 40 gallon natural gas water heater and the burner couldn't stay on. Called tech support and they were terrible. Extremely rude, and misleading. I had to call over eight times in the ten days I had to deal with this nightmare to get them to send me replacement parts for a bran new unit. I will never buy another Rheem product. Very unreliable, and the company will not stand behind their product. Now they are trying to find any little excuse to deny my claim for the labor to replace the defective parts. DO NOT BUY PROBLEMS. STAY AWAY FROM Rheem PRODUCTS
They put me on hold for 45 minutes then an idiot clown transferred me to closed office. Customer service sucks!!!!!! Wow! the commissioned posts on here are ridicules, fake as can be nobody would post model # cert# and hight etc. and ridicules suck up comments. Clearly your customer care is the worst ever and Rheem has stooped to false posts. The real ones are 1 star, I suggest to all other plumbing contractors to print out this page and show your clients who want Rheem (Showing only real 1 star reviews) as the rest are ridiculously false and commissioned suck ups. I have never had a problem with Rheem in over (15 years) until lately and wow! these reviews are not a good sign for me to use them again. Sadly they were great up until now.
Rheem customer service is non-existent. Will not answer any questions.
2-year old Rheem 80 series HVAC repeatedly fails with error code 33. Each time the repair has cost in excess of $150.
Stay away.
Terrible experience with Rheem customer service, virtually non existent. Will not answer any questions regarding their equipment which indicates complete disregard for customer support. Will select a mfg. for unit replacement that is willing to talk with customers rather than send them back to a dealer that is clueless about a particular problem.
I bought the Performance Platinum 40 Gal. Tall 12 Year 40,000 BTU High Efficiency Natural Gas Water Heater (Model XG40T12HE40U0) 12 months ago. It has been functioning flawlessly. I already own a Rheem Furnace which I have been using for 15 years without any problems! That explained why I went for the Rheem water heater without hesitation. This is a worthwhile investment.
"I bought this over a year ago, installed myself, lit up pilot light (did it on first try) and it works without a single problem so far. Pleanty of hot water too."
I had no problems installing the Rheem water heater. It has provide my family with hot water for the last 16 months even during times of above average demand. It has worked well and I anticipate that it will meet my needs for several years.
Not good, I just bought a new home and it has a brand new 2016, RP14 Single Stage Heat Pump installed, and its just not good, puts out almost no heat at 32 to 35 degrees! At those temps it should be putting out a fairly decent amout of heat, no excuses. The system was just checked out too, due to poor performance, it was recharged, yet very little improvement.
I previously owned at another home, for 5 years, a 2009 model year America Standard (their cheapest and most basic builder grade model) Heat Pump that out performed this one hands down, it would keep putting out a good amount of heat when it reached the mid but closer to the low 20's just to compare. I would not recommend this Rheem model RP14. Quick update, this morning its 18 degrees and the unit is humming/moaning and vibrating so loud that it woke me up, Not a good system.
"I bought this hot water tank as it suited my need perfectly. Was in great condition when I unpacked it, was easy to install, and was easy to operate. The self-check indicator is a great feature."
