I wanted to order a to go appetizer so I called their number in hopes that I’d be able to do it quick and easy, I had to call 4 times and finally on the 4th time they answered. All the other times no one ever picked up, I know they have more than one line they can answer calls on so it wasn’t like the line had been busy when i called. i then went to pick it up, and i waited for the hostess for 10 minutes and no one came to help me or check me out though i know many workers had seen me there. Overall i was very displeased and contenplated leaving the food and just leaving because i couldn’t wait and longer. just an awful experience and very unprofessional

I work just around the corner from The Retreat and have had Lunch and Dinner many times. Today my wife and I went there for lunch and were extremely disappointed. The Waiter Joe C seemed a little confused. When we arrived he took my wife silverware setting from the table.
She Ordered a Salad with sliced Chicken on top. The Salad was wilted and she had to pick around it. She Mentioned it to the waiter and he seemed uninterested. And made no attempt to correct the problem. I just find it hard to patronize a place that will serve you a salad that is wilted for $13.95. When the waiter was removing our Dishes from our Table he also spilled my wife drink. He never returned with another one. For a Lunch for two that cost me $36.00 I would expect a little more.

The Retreat is always great food, comfortable atmosphere, good service. We have been going there since it opened. We take family and friends. The Retreat never disappoints!

Great place! Indoor and outdoor bars with great service! Food is cooked and displayed very nice, slightly expensive with some drinks. Overall, great time and will return.

Okay. So the Philadelphia Steak Sandwich was divine. One of the best in the region. But, it took us almost two hours to have dinner. Service was slow, the potato skins and fries came out cold, the dining room was uncomfortably chilly. We only got one drink refill despite asking for several. And things seemed overpriced; $1.99 for a small bowl of cold fries was not worth it, especially when the sandwich itself was already over $9, but at least it came out hot.

One of the few places with an excellent outdoor atmosphere.

Food service is slow due to being consistently very busy, servers have great attitudes, the outside bar is excellent and recently expanded to include a game area. Live music happening most nights in the summer.

The pretzel buns (multiple sandwich options) and Clams are not to be missed.

Went for lunch with a team of 13 and 14 year baseball players and their families today and the staff and restaurant had us in and out in 45 minutes so we could make our next game. Good food and great atmosphere. Def will hit this spot again! Thanks from the CNY Naturals baseball team!!

Great outdoor area. Inside is okay. Needs to be modernized in the old section. Food can be unique and pretty good, also plenty of options. I will go back again as I have been for years.

We went into the Retreat for lunch on July 27th around 1:00. It was pretty busy so we thought we would sit in the bar that was not busy at all. After 5 minutes of sitting there the bartender yelled over to is asking if we wanted a menu. We said yes. We sat for another 10 minutes while she chatted with her friends (the only other people at the bar) and never brought a menu. We decided it wasn't worth the wait and got up and left. She was a younger bartender and she didn't even try to stop us. It will be highly unlikely that I go again.
