  Worst restrooms - no regard for visitors. Disgusting 🤢. Only one restroom with a line of older people who have to relieve themselves. Worse port a potty. I can’t believe these people can’t treat humans better. Total disrespect. Prison restrooms are better.

  My family member passed away in February 2022, and it was my responsibility to ensure there would be a proper burial. My family member was just laid to rest in October 2022 of this year, six months after their passing- this is quite a long gap of time. Starting off, I live out of state from California. I’m not sure if this contributed to the poor service, but truly working with Resurrection has not been the best experience.
  
  Some issues that I ran into:
  
  My loved one was a veteran, which qualified them for a free headstone. I filled out the paperwork and sent it back to personnel at Resurrection. This took months to be filled out properly by Resurrection staff. The paper work was sent back and fourth so many times via email between staff and myself. This went on for many months due to Resurrection personnel not completing paperwork properly, and me having to send it back because boxes were left unchecked/ unsigned. After all paperwork was properly filled out, and the headstone was ordered, Resurrection personnel told me that the headstone could NOT be marble and that the headstone MUST have a cross on it. None of this information was mentioned before, and I was very disappointed that I was given this information after the fact- since I do not live in state and have never been to Resurrection, I was not aware of the official rules. Luckily I ordered a granite headstone and a cross emblem as well, but this could have been a very costly mistake.
  
  After a person passes away, they are cremated and there is a certificate of cremation given from the initial morgue to the living beneficiary. When someone is buried, the cemetery needs a permit to “ break ground.” Generally people use the same permit at the original morgue to transfer to their burial site. Due to being out of state this transfer could not work. Resurrection asked me to call a moratory near Resurrection and referred me to “ Guerra and Gutierrez mortuary” to obtain a secondary permit. After calling the second mortuary, making plans for a permit, and as I’m about to pay the fee, a person from Guerra and Gutierrez tells me that Resurrection has its own mortuary and I need to contact them since I’m using their cemetery and G&G do not work with out of state people. I was truly surprised that Resurrection had referred me out when they could have provided the service themselves. Later on Resurrection did confirm there is a mortuary on site and I would not need a new permit at all. I feel like staff at Resurrection need to be educated on their own policies.
  
  My loved one purchased a plot next to their deceased family members in 1988 the plot cost $500 ( see original paperwork in pink.) To bury my loved one in 2022 I had to pay an additional $1020 ( see yellow, blue, and white receipt staples on a yellow receipt.) I thought this was a little more money than I anticipated since they were already cremated out of state, and had paid for burial land. I uploaded the receipts of prices - I’m confused why my loved one needed to be buried in a gold vault, I was not given any other options in these matters.
  
  Overall, my loved one made it their last wish to be buried in this cemetery, and I honored that wish. I do wish the process went more smoothly and my loved one could have been laid to rest sooner rather than later, looking back I needed better communication between Resurrection and I, and it would be helpful if employees were educated about Resurrection policies and procedures thoroughly, and laying people to rest sooner rather than later seems more appropriate. If I knew I was going to have a lot of trouble with burial, I would have found an alternative cemetery/ memorial to honor my deceased family member. I wonder if my experience would have been different if I was in - person and on site.

  The grass is very dry wit weeds growing in. Rose Hills has nice green grass so it’s not about water. Also too many weeds growing around grave stones. I have been going there since 1973. I hope next time I go it will be nicely maintained.

  In the past the employees were respectful, professional, polite, knowledgeable and presentable. Now they lack all these things and more. The disrespectful way one of the employees referred to my deceased infant grandson will not be ignored and she will be reprimanded. Maybe if they followed a professional dress code they would behave like professionals and even be at the front desk instead of hiding in the back till they decide who's actually going to help the person that has been waiting for too long already. Very disappointed!

  I can only speak for the grounds as it is Sunday and the office is closed. The grounds are very well kept. Props to the caretakers. Every single marker was maintained very well. The curbs we cearly marked as week for those looking for loves ones or doing genealogy research .
