Had a great time. Staff was very helpful and rooms were great. Thanks will return soon
Now that it's under new ownership and called grand z it is honestly the nicest casino in central city.
Love to gamble here. It's clean and they have small bet tables of blackjack.
Actually called the Grand Z Casino, this is a larger and new version of Johnny Z's, a small casino. This new and improved casino is far larger with a lot more gaming, a huge bar, a very nice little restaurant, and great incentives. The atmosphere is lighter and brighter than the Century Casino.
The rooms were quite comfortable, food was ok but they have really tightened up the gambling machines. It actually took the fun out of being there. Need good musicians to appear, like the Lettermen. They are in the age group of most of the people at the Reserve.
I am incredibly disappointed with our recent stay at the Grand Z, formerly The Reserve. The rooms, Z Grill eatery (temporarily housed in the Bistro 321 space during renovation), and casino area seem to have been significantly downgraded with the change in ownership. All microwaves have been removed from the rooms (the space in the TV cabinet and power source remains). There is still a small frig. So, you have a way of keeping things cold, but no way of warming them up. The shampoo/conditioner/body wash dispensers on the shower wall spit minimal amounts of the solution - much time/energy is devoted to extracting the solutions required to bathe. The air coming from the hairdryer is so minimal, that it’s not worth the electricity it uses - serves no purpose. The experience at Z Grill was so awful that numerous orders (ours and others) had to be comped - the service was the worst I’ve had, orders were wrong, and the food quality was substandard at best. They may have removed microwaves from the rooms to force Folks to eat down in the casino, but the amount of time spent waiting to be served (we were there for 2 hours for Grilled Cheese and a French Dip) is keeping Folks out of the casino and off the machines - an unintended outcome - bad for business. We spent very little money at the Grand Z outside the cost of the room (gambled and ate at the Ameristar), and would have gotten our money back on the room if policy had allowed. The Reserve was so classy, and had great amentites and energy. But now, operating as the Grand Z, has been reduced to be dismal and dingy - a disappointment. I recommend staying at the Ameristar if a great experience is what you’re after, as the Grand Z fell short of expectations. Eliminate disappointment and stay, eat, and gamble somewhere that emphasizes a quality experience.
This is the number one Casino for having cocktail waitresses that actually come to the machines to serve you. Thank you ate Reese's for being on the ball at all times even if it's 6 in the morning they're there for you.
Went on a Saturday night. It's definitely not the life of the party. Nicely remodeled but very few people throughout the night.
The new owner's are remodeling and making the Reserve into the Grand Z.
It's coming along very Nice!
Now if they will loosen up the slots a bit the will have a Grand place!😃
I really enjoy the entertainment and the fact that it's free is even better. The Casino is looking much nicer every time we go to the Reserve. There's more lighting also new slots. I also like the new name The Grand Z. Casino and Hotel.
I suggest that everyone stay at least one night in this hotel or one like it. This is a wonderful way to teach your children the tactics of big business cheating people out of their money. It's simple, these little gambling towns are following the protocols set by the big time Las Vegas criminals. So come and lose your money before you put a penny in a slot machine. You will love the old fashioned lust for money.
The reserve was a great place to play we did not stay at this hotel. We had a lot of fun playing the tables at the reserve and the dealers were very courteous and very aware. I would recommend this to anybody who likes to play tables.
Horrible. This casino has finally tanked out! Comps are not being honored and there point system is bogus. Food is garbage and the rooms are outdated and smell of mold. yeah shows are decent but yes you have to pay extra to see them. even after you lose a few grand no love given! management is phoo argue with players because I guess they are always right! wouldn't waste time or money here. spend it at the lodge where they take care of you even after you spend all your money.
Dropped by on the way out of Central city. Wife likes the newer machines. We enjoy their champagne brunch. NON-SMOKING throughout Central city and Blackhawk which is awesome. You don't go home smelling like an ashtray. Highly recommended!
Room was nice but a.c. not working properly but it was cool outside so we just opened the window instead of bothering with having to change rooms. Every was nice. They have breakfast for $5 with made to order craps and pancakes and omelets and drinks included. Over we had a great stay.
