Last night was the first time I have gone to the Regal since the remodel. This is a OK cinema if you plan our everything in advanced!!! The surround sound is centered at about the 5-6 row in the center. Anywhere else and it sounds off. Due to the assigned seating if you do not purchase all needed tickets at the same time online, chances are you won't be sitting together!!! And gone are the days where you can raise the armrest and cuddle with your sweetie!!! The lights on the walls dont shut off, emergency lights are too bright!!! There is also only one ramp going to seats now so you have a choice; a) sit by the wall, or b) have people walking in front of you. All of this you get to enjoy on top of the fact they might double sell your seat and you end up either not getting to see the movie or you might end up kneeling beside your friend for 2 1/2 hours. Sounds great right!!! And let's not forget those outstanding prices!!!! $6 for a soda that cost them less than 50¢ including cup, ice, soda, straw and napkin!!! Not to forget those rocket scientist - happy people to get you your treats and goodies!!!! Dont worry about getting there late because the movie doesn't start for 20min after movie time and with your assigned seats your going to get your seat!!! (unless doubled sold)

All in all next time I think I will save my $120 and order it online!!!!

I would like to be able to give a higher rating but I won't for one reason, the EXIT sign that is at the front of the theater. They are way too bright and very distracting. I held a napkin near my eyes to help with the glare from the sign. We've been to two showings, both theater's were the same, a glaring exit sign in your face.

It's been years since I've been to this theater, but I heard they upgraded the seating, so I thought I'd check it out again. The seats really make the experience enjoyable. A little pricey, but worth the comfort.

My only complaint about the theater I have is that they don't serve jalapenos to go with your nachos. Coming from Texas this was a regular thing that was just expected. Everything else though is great! The place is clean, the seats are comfortable, and the food is good.

I do however have a complaint about some of the people who attend the theater. On more than one occasion, there have been instances where customers have sat in the assigned seats I bought before arriving to the place for the family. While this great technology to finally allow families to sit near each other in a theater is great, It appears that the technology hasn't caught up to the people here, because they just can't rap around their heads that someone could have rented a seat they are sitting in? Luckily there were no physical altercations, but telling someone they are in your seat is always an awkward conversation to have.

As for the low rating of the theater, I feel that this is the problem of the ignorant customers who expect everything to go by 100% perfect all the time more than an actual fault with the theater itself. This is something that happens a lot in establishments, I understand, but in this case it is a little more evident.

Not to sound rude or spiteful, but I am assuming that since the location of the theater is in a Low Income populated area, people really aren't used to spending so much money therefore having very high expectations upon arrival. This can be understood, since everyone wants to get the most out of their money, but still, people should be more realistic.

I read a comment about a person arguing for a refund on Popcorn they already bought when the movie they went to see had a malfunction. Newsflash, once you buy food this isn't something you can simply take back unless something is actually wrong with it in most all circumstances. This is just a risk that you need to be advised of when going to at theater. It is rare, and if it happens frequently then it is worth getting upset about, but a one time occurrence isn't worth an angry review about.

Now I can't vouch for all the complaints that happened in the previous comments, some very well could be true, but it seems that the strong majority are just trying to vent their anger and aim it towards something.

I can understand that not getting a 100% satisfactional visit can be frustrating, but one should have realistic expectations when going to a movie theater in West by god Virginia. You aren't going to be getting a 5 star meal, foot massage, and butler to abide by all your commands, you will be getting an average visit with popcorn, minimum wage employees, and if your lucky a 3D screen. Not impressed nor will I return.
Have been three times, first two decent but I would remark on the seating and pricing. The third resulted in walking out and demanding my money back. Had an AC unit acting up apparently and they were even aware of it that was louder than the movie playing and that's just unacceptable for a $14 movie ticket. If you are going to charge the price make sure your facility is good enough to support it.

The reclining seats are not worth the things you lose. Sorry I like to pick my own seat thanks. Also what happened to the surround sound? The sound is not nearly as good used to be. Some may also want to clean the theater before the next movie it was really dirty.

This has got to be the nicest movie theater I have ever been to. Power leather recliners with foot rest. It was the first theater I did not sweat to death in either. I was the only 1 in the whole auditorium during the 330 movie lol but it was still the best sounding, most comfortable (seats and temp) theater. It was only $7.25 kinda high I thought till I sat in the seats. Well worth the money.

Regal Cinemas Grand Central Mall is much better now since they completely overhauled reach theater. The floors aren't as sticky from spilled soda as they used to be. One of the only issues that I have is the god awful bright lighting in each theater. They do not dim them during the movie. I have attached a photo from one of the larger theaters taken just after a movie ended. As you can see, the green exit signs are very bright. No one can possibly miss where the door is now. Green and blue are very harsh colors with high glare effects. Red is a much better color in a dark theater, but it would be SOOO much better. There is an exit sign in the front directly next to the screen facing the audience and one in the back. These green lights, along with the floor down lighting, make it difficult to focus on the movie, especially if you are sensitive to glare. In the smaller theater tonight, I tried to hold up a card to block the light from the exit sign, but the lights from the back of the theater shone off of the back of the card. I couldn't win.

On a good note, the seats are fairly comfortable and do not squeak. If you are on the short side, you might want to bring something to make the seat more comfortable to recline in. They are made for taller people in mind, like my husband, who loves them. Also, the sound is quite good and the bathrooms are usually clean. The employees are very helpful and the management is quick to check out an issue when it is brought to their attention.

Welcome to the 21st century. My wife and I avoided this theater after moving to the area because it was old and didn't even have stadium seating. We both now love this theater. Personally I feel they had been on decline because it was never that great of an experience going to the theater. Why pay so much to be packed into little seats when in three months or so it will be out on DVD and I can watch in the comfort of home.

But now having big comfortable seats, knowing where you will be sitting and just choosing another time if you don't like the options really has changed my thoughts of going to see movies in the theater again.

A major improvement with the new recliner seats and picking your seats beforehand. Much better than walking in blind and searching in the dark. Two major improvments and something others in the area don't have. The picture and sound were great. I still think the price of concessions is a bit steep at $13.28+ tax for medium drink and popcorn.

I use to own a video store. I now have to see a good movie in uncomfortable seats and sticky floors, there is urine smell in the theaters and in the main hall ways. Not enough staff to help clean. Every time I've been there with my granddaughter we have to stand in line for a good time for tickets. They only have one booth open even when the line is backed up clear out the door to the main doors entering the mall. On weekends they should have more then one ticket both open to get the customers through. I hear that you are putting in recliners, this is awesome great news. But with the price to see a movie please make sure to put new carpet and flooring in, make sure the staff keeps up with the moping of the sticky messes others make after every show, it don't take long to do this. Also the restrooms has had quite a few toilets over flown. These workers should be right on it. My husband and daughter will drive to athens or marietta ohio to watch movies for the low price and the cleanliness and seating. We live only 15 minutes from grand central mall. But because of the odor, the price, the seating and lack of your employees not doing their job to keep it clean after every show, they are lacking. So my family will drive 20 minutes to 45 minutes away to get a lower price, better seating and cleanliness as well as quick service. My granddaughter and I still come here. So I hope you will improve on these things to grow this business and keep the money in our state instead of Ohio. Oh and again work more people mainly busy days to keep up. We still never got a refund on a 3D movie we did not want to see, we wanted the standard movie but the ticket lady gave us the 3D ticket we never asked for 3D. I called was suppose to get a refund or tickets for another movie since once in the theater we noticed it was 3D. I don't like 3D movies it bothers my eyes. I'm a crown member but with this ladies mistake by not listening to what we wanted, I called and left my phone # and still never heard nothing back after a year. I hope when you improve this theater more business will come your way. Hopefully it will be quickly done. I can't wait.

Poor projector quality. No stadium style seating. Uncomfortable seats. Outrageous ticket and concessions prices. I don't know why anyone would waste their money going to a theater stuck in the 20th century, while charging prices for a 21st century up-to-date facility. The only reason they get any business is due to being located in the Grand Central Mall and for convenience sake. If a theater opened in South Parkersburg, Regal would lose the majority of their business.

Don't waste your time or money going here. Anyone who enjoys their movie experience, I would recommend the drive to Marietta or Athens for a higher quality experience.

I have not seen a movie here in 5+ years, and the only thing that's changed since then has been rising ticket and concessions prices.
