Came with my family and the in laws to enjoy a quick flick. Instead what we received was a pure disaster!
It went wrong from the moment we arrived with one of he ticket servers wearing a popcorn bucket mask on his head. He sold us the wrong tickets! Then my wife falls and bashes her fingers off the stationary RPX seat is that to boast that you have one?
Finally my perfect children literally fell off the recliners and into the hot bucket of popcorn my noisy neighbors were chomping on!
I can do better at my own private theatre.

Great theatre design. Shows you how comfortable a movie can be. Only problem was the labrynth that you have to go through to buy popcorn. Very inconvenient.
I had a terrible experience at this pathetic excuse of a movie theatre. The manager was extremely rude along with her coworkers. 4 of us went and attempted to buy tickets for IT, an R rated movie. Keep in mind we are all 18 years old. One of us had no wallet on them, and was not allowed to purchase a ticket. He presented his college ID and they did not accept it. They told him he needed a birth certificate or something with a picture and birthday. My friend was not happy but went out of his way to have a family member from home send him his medical records which obtained the necessary information. He was then told this may not be accepted, because he might have photo shopped his medical records. All of this just to get into a movie about a clown. The workers were beyond rude and we left, with the $52 dollars we would have spent. We will never return there and I highly suggest no one else does.
This is a great place to see a movie! It has electronic reclining seats and a sound system second to none!
It's not okay to sell other people's information to scam travel companies. I hope no one fell for this and they direct it to the source-- regal cinemas. Don't fill out the giveaway there. That's how they get your info to give to third party companies
Love the seating at this theater. I wish I could by one for my home. Theater is always clean and a joy to go to. The only set back to this and all movie theaters is the price of entree. Many families can't afford to take their children to the movies, not only because of the entree fees, but the cost of food, drinks and candy.
The Portsmouth Regal has quickly become the only place I will go out to watch a movie. The seats are extremely comfortable and once you've tried them, you'll never want to sit in the airline-seat experience offered by the competitors again. I only wish there was another RPX theater with the seat-kickers so that I didn't feel as though I was missing out on the IMAX-grade experience if the movie I wanted to watch wasn't the most popular at the time.
I don't understand the complaints that others have posted about price. The seating difference alone justifies the cost. The easy ticketing experience, easy process of grabbing food, option for wine and beer, and excellent movie quality in both RPX and standard theaters puts it well over the top.
The only thing I would change is the popcorn, extra butter is only a bit more butter, and only on top, how do I order extra-extra butter. I'm indulging, let me make bad choices! Same goes for salt, the little salt packets are a pain, I wish there was a salt shaker at the condiment table.
Went to watch Logan during the opening weekend, someone decided to vape in the bathroom and I was forced to evacuate. The temperature outside was sub-freezing (10 degrees), I was never given compensation for the ticket or my concessions. It was a very bad experience. I couldn't even watch the movie. It was poor management and I would recommend going to another theater until they can properly run a business.
Went to see Rock Dog with my husband neice n nephew Our first time there.. Was very comfortable.. I really enjoyed it the workers are very friendly..looking forward to our next visit..
I will never return to this theatre again. Horrible theatre. The allowed the theatre to be evacuated on a 10 degree night with 30 mpg gusts because someone got caught vaping in the bathroom. Instead of removing the individual they stopped all showings and evacuated. While doing so they knew that the movies would start past there stopping points and run over their set times. I was there to see the new movie Logan and mind you it was the more expensive RPX version. There was probably close to 10 min left plus a post credit scene when the lights came on, a min goes by and the sound plays while ads start to show. Many upset customers complained, the GM said he was aware of the issues. When explained he said he knew nothing of it. Many customers wanted their money back not have free tickets shoved in their face. They were given an ultimatum and if they disagreed they would be considered trespassing and to leave. Everything was handled calm and courtesly and they were stilled threatened by the GM to take it or leave it. Absolutely ridiculous and I have called corporate to complain.
Ok but I've been trying to get through to the Newington theatre to find out ticket prices, etc. the phone system is very irritating, and you don't get to talk to an actual human being. Also, the automated service didn't understand what I was trying to do at one point, and instead of offering to "try this again" like some do. it hung up on me. That alone is enough to make me say it's not worth the effort. That's just poor customer support.
Nice place with really nice seats. The front row is garbage, way too close to the screen. I don't even think they should sell those seats. I've been to new theaters that have newly designed seating where all the seats are good, even the front row, but that's not the case here. The front row seats are practically under the screen.
