Camped one night at a primitive site with no water/electricity (hook ups are available). There are many great sites right next to the water, but the sites are very close to one another. There's a picnic table, fire pit, and grate for each fire pit, which is great/useful. The bathrooms are heated and in great shape/conditions.

Really lovely park. It's a great place to spend the day fishing, picnicking, or laying around in your hammock. There is a beach for swimming when the season is right. It looks nice but I haven't been there. On the weekends, it's not a very peaceful place and parking is limited. Motorboats and children screaming from the beach (in the summer) ruin all the peace and quietbut not nearly as much as the several very annoying jet-ski riders. Look elsewhere for a quiet retreat.
It's $5 to park for the day. There are bathrooms, they are handicap acceptable.response / report this review -

Beautiful hike. The trail was well maintained, even if it did kick my butt. There wasn't a lot in the way of wildlife, but it was kind of cold the day that I went, so that may have been a part of it. The park staff are friendly but non-intrusive. I do wish the trail markers were a little more clear, but honestly, this was a really good park.

Fun fact I learned from the rangers, there is no actual mountain in the park named red top mountain. It's just the name of the park. The trails are beautiful and the staff in very good at what they do. You are certain to come across something unexpected and beautiful when you visit.

A beautiful state park with dense wooded forest, having scenic views of forest, lake, island and plateau. Having wonderful walking trails which opens till evenings, a spacious cottages and many camping grounds, small beaches and last but not least boats, jet-ski, kayaking which u will take for parties, fishing and roaming and watching natural beauties. Its totally fun and watching fall colour is awesome ☺️☺️. You could go there and barbecue and have fun. Nature lovers like it. Lake view is awesome

Very nice State Park on Lake Acworth 40 miles north of Atlanta but it can be a little over crowded at times; mainly weekends. The park has a couple of nice hiking trails and is offering an evening Halloween Hayride which is inexpensive and can be a lot of fun.

This place was perfect for my wife, dog and myself. Lots of hiking trails that lead to secluded spots by the water. Perfect for swimming with the dog and relaxing for all Especially at sunset/sunrise

What a great excursion. A little something for everyone. Great for the young and young at heart. Swimming, fishing, hikes, boating. Not a wallet buster either. Very friendly staff. Would highly recommend this place to anyone!

We enjoyed our time at Red Top. The park is beautiful, as is Lake Allatoona. While there is some heavier boat traffic in the summer months, there is ample room for all water lifestyles. There are no-wake zones that are popular for boats to anchor and you see plenty of people floating and swimming in the water. We enjoyed kayaking the area. The waters have plenty of shade and plenty of sun. This also gives you a nice mix of cool temperatures and warm swimming weather.
The campsites (especially along the water) are quite narrow, as is the driving path (it's a mountain). They are nicely spaced in most areas and you don't have that feeling of being on top of each other. I enjoyed napping in my hammock, and enjoyed the open spaces behind our campsite. Of course, we have a favorite site. I'd tell you, but then I'd run the risk of it not being available for us to use.
We did not use the bathroom facilities given our camper's amenities, but from the outside, they appear to be newer and campground host spots are very close by.
There are plenty of trails with varying degrees of difficulty. The visitor center is great and they can certainly guide you as to which trails are best for your experience level. This park is VERY dog friendly.response / report this review -

Absolutely gorgeous state park. Nestled on Lake Allatoona which offers great fishing, boating and picnicking and miles of wooded trails to hike. Also has 92 campsites for RV, Campers or tents and a pioneer campground for those that want a little more feel if "roughing it" as these few sites do not have power or water. There are also 18 cottages available to rent that offer peaceful views of the lake, picnic tables, porches and grills. The wildlife is also gorgeous with many deer and birds roaming the park. Love this place. Great little beach with bathrooms (no lifeguard). Tons of parking tons of picnic areas. Small but adequate playgrounds (mostly slides). Mini golf! Great views!

Really good place for camping, recreation, swimming, boating and other relaxing. The bridge cross the lake give you unbelievable scenes. I like it very much. Also it is not too far from downtown, about half an hour

Great place to enjoy a relaxing day at the lake. Downside is parking is not free, and they only accept cash (who still carries cash??) I was lucky enough that someone gave me their parking pass as they were leaving. All was awesome except the outdated payment methods.

Love this park. Trails are are well kept and marked. Great for a casual stroll with kids or a trail run. Great place to be in the woods that is close to Atlanta.

Very nice little park. I did the Iron Hill trail in late afternoon in May and it was really nice. Its a 4 mile long wide, flat trail that winds through the south western section of the park. Very easy to walk and they allow mountain bicycles too! The views along the shore are great.
