Nice size king size rooms with separate bathroom with deep soaking tub and plenty of satellite TV stations. Dining table for two people and couch with chair and cocktail table for additional seating area. Office desk and free WiFi. Free hot breakfast but just average nothing special. Has coin op washer dryer on 3rd floor two bucks washed or dry, detergent sold at front counter for two bucks so convenient for $6 for clean clothes if you're traveling light

Wow! I really hate that I had to give this place a star at all to post. Now the manager Helen at this place was rude, the guy at the front desk didn't tell me before I paid the early check-in fee that the pool was closed. The only reason we went here was because of the pool and that's one of the amenities right? Nope not according to this location they just falsely advertised having a pool because after giving them my money they told us that the pool was out of order. Why not tell me the pool wasn't working before I check in early? Then they couldn't give me a refund, that goodness I didn't pay for the rest of the rooms I was getting. The manager didn't call me back like she said so after 3 days I call her back only to find out that she didn't even look my stuff up so she still needed to call me back again. This is so very frustrating and so much more happened but I don't have time now to tell you but.Horrible uninformative place zero stars from me and my family.

I stared at this hotel for 4 nights in November 2017.The hotel is pretty nice for a low priced motel. There are some nice amenities including coffee in the Lobby at all times, continental breakfast and a pool /Jacuzzi. our room was updated and very clean and our beds were extremely comfortable. The hotel staff was very friendly although there seemed to be only one person at any time besides the housekeeping department.
There were a few things that I thought could improve. Each Queen bed only had 2 pillows and we only got 2 towels each day. Our toilet paper holder was dangling by one screw and after it fell off they did fix it. The neighborhood is pretty sketchy and the gas station nearby had bullet proof glass shielding the cashiers. On our 2nd night, a man walked into the lobby holding the back of his head and bleeding all over the floor and said he had just gotten beaten up. The hotel clerk took care of him and the blood, but it's a tough neighborhood.
The only reason I wouldn't stay here again is that the area is bad.response / report this review -

I have currently been staying at the Red Roof Inn & Suites in Melvindale Mi for 3 weeks. I am in between closing of a new house and moving out of my old one. This hotel experience has been great! The staff here works hard to make your stay here as comfortable as they possibly can. The cleaning staff is amazing. Every day that i have been here, they check on me several times through out the day to see if there is anything i need even if i tell them that i dont need full service on that day. The work they put in deffinetly shows because this place is extremely CLEAN!!! The front desk is always helpful and polite. The pool, hot tub, and complimentary breakfast are just a bonus and the price you pay for these services is awesome. I highly recommend this hotel wether you are staying for 1 night, the weekend, or if you need clean, well kept place for a few weeks. This is honestly one of the best hotels at the price it offers that i have been too (and i have been to A LOT) HIGHLY RECOMMEND!!!

I don't ever stay in RR Inns but had to this time and am pleasantly surprised. Clean rooms. Huge bathtub. Appears recently remodeled. Very nice staff!!

This place is actually underrated, the rooms were awesome and the service was great. Even let my charge my EV during my stay.

Room was a little dated but comfy, seems like management here likes to cut corners to save a buck, one guy at the front desk for 3pm check in, luckily we beat the rush by about 5 minutes, pretty long line once we got our keys. Also, they keep the place warm to save a buck too, no A/C on our room when we checked in, luckily we headed right back out to the Tigers game so it was cool when we got back. Hallways were downright balmy at all times. They offer breakfast but it is pretty scant (crappy pastries, the standard waffle machine). Good for a night or two but don't book long term. Also not much in the area, 10-15 minute drive to downtown Detroit.

This is a great hotel. Friendly customer service, they're high quality rooms you don't expect from your normal Red Rood Inn. Spent quality time with family and very close to Detroit!! There are many options for food and tourist destinations like Greenfield Village, Downtown Detroit, Comerica Park in the nearby area. Definitely will stay here again.

I only gave it on star because you can't not leave that blank .. This by far was the worst room I ever been the people at the front desk have very bad customer service they lied about everything you ask The pool is very nasty don't let your kids get in it.. They made me bring all the dirty towels don't go get new ones just to tell me oh I'm sorry we don't have any towels They tried to charge me an extra deposed because I'm black and they thought I was going to smoke in the room so the wanted a extra $50 to hold until I check out I just had a over all bad experience I would NEVER IN LIFE STEP FOOT IN HERE AGAIN!!!!!!

We stayed here because the price was right and the reviews were decent. The whole hotel smelled very strongly of chlorine from the pool but otherwise it was pleasant. Comfy beds, excellent service, safe. We'd come again for sure.

Friendly staff,rooms were clean,hotel was very quiet and beds were comfortable.. The pool was a comfortable temperature, the gym was quite small, but accommodatingAll in all,couldn't expect more anywhere else,and the prices were incredible Same rate for the slum motel down the street, with ten times the comfort and feeling of security I will definitely be coming back
