This place is gorgeous and well worth the entrance fee. Lots of trails ranging from easy to difficult. Beautiful scenery and plenty of safe places to climb and scramble. A trail map is available at the visitor center. Even on a crowded day you will find some "empty" spots simply because there is so much land to explore and so many hidey holes. We visited here around February when the weather was nice but not very hot, and this is probably the best time to go if you're wanting to hike. You could easily spend an entire day exploring the trails. We got a ton of great pictures as well.

When in Vegas sometimes you just get tired of the strip, or you may be looking for something to change it up. Luckily the beautiful Red Rock Canyon National Conservation is only about 30 minutes away and I would consider it a must do when in town. The breathtaking views are numerous and there are plenty of spots to stop along the trail and take photos. I went on a Friday afternoon and it was only $7 for entry. I completed the scenic drive which took about 80 minutes to observe all the beautiful views out here. Make sure when you purchase your ticket to also pick up a map which will be a very helpful guide when on the 13 mile scenic route.

There isn't much else to say about this beautiful land the photos speak for themselves. Definitely try it out if in town!

I love going through here with the wife. We always take our friends through here whenever they come to visit us if they have time. You've got to see the petroglyphs and the way these other climbers free-climb the rocks mid-day. The trail is open until 8, and they take advantage of all the daylight they can get. Get your moneys worth, and go hiking up there!!! It's a 13 mile drive and OH MY GOD, the views up there are gorgeous.

If you've never been there, GO. You truly get a visual representation of the age of the earth through the layering of the rocks in the view of the mountains you get. This is as good as it gets in any desert you'll visit.

Red Rock Canyon is a fun and challenging place to hike. If you're looking for a simple hike or scaling the canyon walls 2,000 feet up then you'll enjoy this place. If you're in Vegas and are looking for something cool to do this is perfect. In less than 30 minutes you can go from the craps table to the foothills of the mountain.

Remember to take the proper gear as in all hikes preparation is the most important thing. If you wear shorts make sure you have some gators and good hiking shoes. Keep in mind also it is the desert, no water, dry trails, sharp rocks, unforgiving shrubs, scorching sun and cool mornings/evenings in the shade.

As always let someone know when you go, where you're going and when you expect to be back.

Beautiful drive through and nice hiking trails. Best time to go is in April or mid to late October. The weather is perfect. Summer is too hot and winter is too cold. Use the bathrooms at the visitor center. Avoid the bathrooms along the scenic route drive. Make sure you fill up on gas before you hit the mountain. After visiting red rock canyon there is a nice scenic drive continuing down Charleston to Blue Diamond. You may spot a wild burro.

We hear before back in Summer 2012. We like then so we Decided to go back again wow. This time around we had a blast this is 16 mile drive around the park first part ride were you can the lots of Red rock this so cool to see and you are so many trails. to walk on. As you driver around the park you different parks of rocks and trail . When you do go into the park check the Park check out the visitor center they have a great gift shop. If you are in the area check this park out.

The conservation center is really a compliment to the canyon. With soon many people visiting the canyon it's a pleasant stop to refresh, pick up a reminder of their visit or just a gift for loved ones. They might be a bit pricey but the proceeds go to a good cause (the canyon) The observation window is massive with a great vista

Awesome beautiful place nice trails some very intense. Then you find a nice cozy cool spot to chill! Makes the hike worthwhile! Nice for honeymooners who love outdoors real hiking! Really a must go see again!

I absolutely love this place. The rocks are beautiful. Pictures don't do the place justice. It cost $7 for a car. There is a visitors center with a gift shop inside. If you love outdoors and enjoy hiking, you gotta stop here. Also, there are places to just pull off and stop and view. If there is someone in your party that is disabled, they can still enjoy these beautiful Canyons with exiting the vehicle. Be sure to have your camera ready!!!

Gorgeous. Cooler than the city, and trees. So far have hiked ice Box Canyon in the rain, only until the wash covered the trail. That was beautiful. Waterfalls coming off the tops of the mountain. La Madre Springs was a good hike for exercise. Supposedly there are rams back there, so will have to go back some time when they're out and about. The museum is pretty good too with a gift shop stocked with hiking essentials. Well done, Nevada!

Fantastic place to spend the day. Getting the annual National Parks pass saves so much on visits. I use it to the utmost. I go weekly to Red Rock Canyon and Lake Mead. With every visit to a National Park being $20, the annual $80 covering ALL National Parks in the county, is an incredible deal and a cost savings. I love it. I value our National Parks.

I downloaded a red rock canyon tour app on my phone and took about three hours to go, drive through the canyon and come back. It is near town. Stop and grab some water and snacks along the way. Driving the scenic loop is fun. It takes about 40 minutes if you don't stop. There are some wonderful photo stops. I chose not to hike that day because it was 112 degrees. I don't recall seeing any places selling water so take plenty with you. The scenic drive is excellent and pretty quick.

Red Rock was sort of an unexpected stop we made during our trip in Las Vegas. Among the strip joints and clubs and hotels to have fun in, coming here was a breath of fresh air in the city that never sleeps.

The views here are gorgeous, and the trails don't take very long to hike. When walking the trails, you can do a little climbing and explore the vast rock and geology. There were a number of different plant and moss species that made their home here as well. Such a fantastic place to stop and bring yourself back from all the partying Vegas has to offer. Would highly recommend stopping here!

Also to note, there is a small fee to enter the park, and parking is also available.

Up close and personal experience with the majesty of nature and wildlife. A 10 mile one way journey through magnificent mountain views. Hiking to desert oasis' complete with falling water. Wild life abound from wild birds, mountain sheep, and wild burros. A must see attraction when in the Las Vegas area.

A beautiful and unique slice of natural wonder. Great hiking, climbing and beautiful desert scenery. Drive the loop for a quick visit or park and hike the many gorgeous trails. For the adventurous, there are countless climbing routes. The rock here is world class with everything from moderate top rope to wandering multi pitch trad climbing.

Day passes are available, but with the high number of national lands, the America the Beautiful pass gets you a year long entry here and many other local spots including lake Mead national recreation area and all national parks.
