Not bad. Went for the first time during Indy Tenderloin week. I dont eat pork so I got the buffalo chicken sandwich. Its definitely not traditional, the buffalo was more of a schmear on the top of the chicken. The Tenderloin was HUGE and my bf said it was very good. Overall a cool little Irish pub. Parking is a little weird but its Fountain Square so that's typical.

It was a pretty standard English Pub in a Midwest city. Traditional decor, traditional English dishes (they had a good fish and chips), and an average selection on tap. The one thing I also liked was their small selection of local brews. Its always nice to see smaller businesses help each other out. The service I had was good, the server was nice and friendly. The atmosphere was comforting. I could see myself going there again with friends if we were in the area.

After ordering from Red Lion on GrubHub, I had to go and meet the wizard of this food Oz! I got the fish and chips, which I had hoarded like a miser when it was delivered to my home. This Review is strictly to inform the public at large that the best Fish and chips in Indianapolis is at Red Lion. The staff were friendly. The patrons all seemed to be at home. Best of all, I met the chef-a down to Earth dude- and gave him my compliments for his perfectly battered cod and crisp, fresh fries! Make time for Red Lion, you can take a group of buddies. Be sure to bring your ID so you can try one of the many ales on their beer list.

Been coming here for years, and is my go-to spot for comfort English food and awesome cocktails. Great microbrew selection as well. Service here is always great also.

I come here whenever I visit Indianapolis. I like the English food like bubble and squeak and bangers and mash. The American food is very good too. The service is good and I'm always happy I came here.

One of the best Irish places in Indy. I love the traditional grog. A must get. The friend Mac and cheese is to kill for, and you gotta love the fried fish.

Comfortable setting, a long bar with plenty of seating amid table service. A Guinness and signature steak for the evening will certainly guide any visitor along their way, happy and full. The fish and chips are exceptional. This place is an old-style British pub, in comparison to some others closer downtown, the Red Lion is a bit smaller. Television screens protrude outward from the bar, which almost seem to decrease the level of conversation that could possibly be shared throughout. The atmosphere is dark, slightly dim, but everything works in its own favor to display the Red Lion as a well-known spot. Locals and college students alike find their solace within its gates. Pay a visit and adopt a Guinness.

Our favorite place to eat in Fountain Square. The burgers are good. The curry sauce is delicious, I always get the mild. Their bread pudding is good too.

Walter and his staff are an amazing team. I am always welcomed no matter the time or day I come. They get busy on Tuesdays and Thursdays yet find a way to be attentive to their customers. Burgers are AWESOME. And they have excellent friendly cooks. I get the Waltimate with a fried egg.tops! Ohand they just opened their own restrooms! No more walking through the outside halls!

First off -- it could have been good! We had a large party of 20+ come in. It slowed service down, but that was understandable. The food took about 45 minutes to get, and anyone who ordered something fried came received an oily mess!! It was almost inedible! Ok a non-busy night this probably would not be an issue
The kicker was that when the bills were paid and there were a few people finishing their last drink, the bar manager came and told us that her servers weren't happy because they didn't get tipped well!!! Who does that!! I can't vouch for the server's performance, but I've never had someone try to pull a pity card to get more tips! Wow! If you didn't get tipped we'll don't make an an uncomfortable situation for other guests!!!response / report this review
