Lately they have been way too hit and miss given their prices. Used to be consistently good.

Update: I have had Red Lantern two more times since my initial review. I would rate one of them 2 stars and the other 1 star. Downgraded to 1 star. They really just keep getting worse.

Stopped into Red Lantern for a quick lunch- didn't have much time to spare. The staff sat my boyfriend and I right away and were super attentive! I ordered the filet - it was delicious. Although we didn't have time to try any of the super fun drinks on the menu, I will definitely be back.

I think the Red Lantern has great food but they discontinued Saugatuck Bewery chocolate stout. And they replaced it with another Sandy. Yikes! Wasn't happy at all! How about a porter, you have none at your place? I know, you appeal to the majority of your customers as far as their tastes in beer. Move on. Okay Bye and I'll miss all the great workers at the lantern. I'm actually quite sad.

This place used to be great but recently I'm left wondering if they've changed ownership.

We went on a slow day and waited 30 minutes for our food. They told us the kitchen was busy. In a restaurant with at least 20 tables and a bar, there were fewer than 10 customers total, leaving me to wonder just how busy this kitchen really was.

My wife's food was cold in the middle. We asked to have it removed from the bill. The waitress insisted that removing it wouldn't be possible - they'd remake it instead.

I've never encountered a restaurant unwilling to remove poorly prepared food from a bill. We paid for everything else, but refused to pay for food that poorly prepared.

The waitres stormed after us, complaining that she'd be responsible for the food we didn't pay for. If that's true, that's yet another reason to avoid patronizing this restaurant.

My wife and I really used to live this placeused to. It cost us about 50 bucks for 3 mixed drinks, a grilled cheese sandwich and a cold Blt sandwich, that I could have made better at home in 5 minutesBut took over 30 minutea with hardly any customers in a Friday night.

The staff is always nice and take care of their customersit just seen like the management is getting cheap with the food menu as to when they first openeda real disappointment.

Decent food, we'll if you get it to go. Absolutely the worst service on the Westside, and could you possibly turn down the congenial rock music? Just because we're in Cleveland doesn't mean I need my ear drums bleeding. I SUGGEST that diners look at other venues along Lorain. I have no idea how this place survives.

Disappointing and not cheap- if you drink a lot you might not notice. The mac and cheese uses a sour cheese, god knows why. Chicken salad sandwich = no flavor + nice bun. Pasta contained clumped together noodles that were gross. Burger seemed to have come from a box. INCONSISTENT!!!!!!
2 lousy entrees + 2 waters +tip = $41. For Christ Sake!

Went out for fish fry. Atmosphere so nice. Meal prepared crispy with nice breading on perch. Potatoes done well. Only problem- no flavor!!!!. No mater how much salt & pepper I used the meal was way too bland. Hopefully this will change.

While the service was great, the meal was very unsatisfying. I love all things pork, I know how to make it and I enjoy eating it. It is a very easy meat to work with. As a result, I ordered the pork shank. What I received was a very tough piece of meat with some kind of a sour tasting gravy. The meat took effort to cut into (not something I should be struggling with in a pork shank) and the gravy with its lack of any other flavor besides a sourness, made it seem like it had been left out a bit too long.

The server was wonderful and agreed to exchange it for something else, so asked for the lobster mac & cheese, a similarly priced item. That was also a disappointment, the cheese was too salty and heavy in flavor, completely overpowering the delicate taste of the lobster (also it was quite greasy). The lobster, in turn, was still cold.

I am normally not a picky eater, in fact I love trying new things and have a great deal of leaway on what I consider good, this did not pass.
