This would have been a 5 star review, but there were some changes that bothered us. They no longer have a vegetarian option like they did before and this was the reason we went back there today. We tried to substitute other sides to accommodate our vegetarian eater and they didn't allow any substitutions. We didn't have our kids with us today, but we were still a little bothered by the sign on the table telling us to "silence your phones and children" when the restaurant is right next to a busy train station. Don't get me wrong, the food is delicious and that's why we came back, but the overall experience was not great today.

Historic Mexican Californian restaurant. Beautifully appointed, quality food, good service. Popular, so be prepared to wait or book ahead.

The weekends are only the prix fixe brunch, $44 per person plus tax and tip was about $60 per person. That said, it was delicious, a nice setting and the food was great. I had the duck confit and mushroom mac and cheese and roasted berries with custard and coffee.

Pro-tip-park at the train station and don't go driving down the road like an idiot like I did. There's no parking by the restaurant and nowhere do they suggest where you should park.

I found the food to be just ok, nothing too impressive. The waitress seemed to be in such a rush, she spoke way too fast. Customer service was not so great, they have a take it or leave it attitude, no substitutions, etc. Drinks weren't so great either. I was expecting more for the price.

Ramos House has one of my top 5 breakfasts in OC. The bacon scramble is beyond belief. I never knew an egg scramble could taste so good. You have to try their house sauce with it, it's so good and I wish I knew what they put in the sauce. The prices are kind of high, but you are definitely paying for quality dining (I think it's cheaper on weekdays whereas weekends have a fixed menu). Also, the restaurant is in a really "cute" little cottage, and it feels like you're eating on someone's patio. It's very quaint and intimate. And it's right next to the railroad tracks so you can watch the trains go by while you eat. Ramos House is so special that it's really a place you have to experience to understand. Would definitely come back.

My first time visiting the humming bird cafe and I had the most amazing experience from the food to the excellent service Abel did an amazing job welcoming me in for the first time and he was very friendly and helpful. I would definitely make this my casual spot! I love it .

I read a review that a critic considered this place possibly the best breakfast in the country. Clearly I was skeptical. As a scout for great breakfast venues, I tried it out prior to touring the San Juan Capistrano Mission. The atmosphere and the simple attention to detail with food and setting has me contemplating life's fine pleasures. The creative, delicious take on lox and toast points hooked me on a return trip the next morning. A highlight item for me was the Scotch Quail Egg. Go—yet heed the purveyor's request to silence your phone and enjoy conversation, the meal, and the environment. You will not regret it.
