The rates are decent and the hotel isn't bad. Small things like the elevator button on the rear entrance not working properly on the second floor but I would stay here again.
Jessica at the front is a sweetheart the of hotel is a great man and is always around every morning there is lots of different types of food set out for everyone
Got to our room and the TV remote did not work, the phone did not either, so we had to keep going down to the front desk. Found a bed bug in the bed. The bell to the front desk didn't work, the soda machine didn't have the right sodas in the spots, there was a lot that was bad, but the shower was clean and the water was really hot.
If I could give this place 0 stars I would. I came here for my cousin's wedding 2 months ago and it was a complete disaster. The whole place looks just pretty dirty above all. Customer service was awful. It took about 10 minutes if not more for someone to show up at the front desk when there was a reservation mix up that they caused by not having any communication amongst them. While we were waiting there we rang the bell and Just had to wait because apparently the guy had gone for a smoke break . Before our event there was an event there in the morning they did not even bother to clean the bathroom it was very messy and just above all disgusting. Their kitchen area was simply disgusting. I honestly suggest that if you are having any type of event here and are going to use their kitchen please go in there yourself and inspect it. Their dish sanitation system is not done the way it should be, it does not meet the standards of the way catering should be.
The rooms are nice and clean but the elevator is very outdated. The front desk people that I came across, 3 of them did not greet me nor anyone else I saw but they were still helpful. The breakfast was good, they have plenty of free parking.
We have stayed for approximately 13 CONSECUTIVE days. Our original res. was made with Orbitz 4 a king ste. w/jetted tub. Once we checked in we were directed to a room and immediately upon entering we identified the safety latch on the door was broke and went to the front desk to get a diff. room. We were advised they didn't have any rooms with the same amenities and were downgraded and not extended any sort of credit enlou of the reduced features. When attempting to enter our newly assigned room another guest answered the door and advised us the room was occupied so we made another trip to the front desk who was unaware of the guest in the room and assigned us a third room still devoid of the amenities we had paid 4. None-the-less we stayed the entirety of our res. and booked 2 more days which we paid cash and this time were assessed a flat rate of $25 for our pets unaware of the fee as it's NOT DISCLOSED on the Orbitz website and simply advertised as pet friendly. Once this reservation expired which had also been offered at a reduced rate, we booked for a week at a reduced rate of $55/day plus an additional $25/day for our pets which is not aligned with what we had previously paid but since our options are limited and most hotels don't accept pets we paid the fee. I understand according to the Ramada corporate website pet policies and room rates are at the discretion of each property I'm very dissatisfied with the variance in rates which appears to be par for the course after speaking with several other guests at the hotel each telling a different story on what they're paying for their animals to be able to join them on their stay, some not paying any fee.
I am aware that pets can be a liability for several reasons for a hotel owner, however if I'm paying a pet fee of $25/day I don't expect to have limited access to areas of the hotel with my animal such as the lobby which you're requested to not bring your animal through and instructed to use the doors at the end of the building. That would be fine if the magnetic key cards didn't consistently fail at these doors causing an inconvenience and a requirement to goto the lobby where you'll be greeted with a dirty look, that is if the desk attendant isn't asleep behind the desk which occurred one of the many times we had to visit the front desk to have our room key re-made in order to gain entry at those doors. The desk attendant will offer an excuse not to put your key near a cellular device and that would work if the key cards still didn't work at the door of your room. In my opinion it's a maintenance issue with the lock system at the outside doors not cellular interference.
At the conclusion of our week long stay we wanted to add a day to plan going forward and needed to buy some time to make our mind up since it was nearing check out. We actually need somewhere to stay for several weeks and are now seeking another hotel because when we went to extend our stay we were advised it wouldn't be at the weekly rate and we would be assessed a regular full rate. Again I fully understand it's at the hotels discretion to set rates and fees however it's a matter of principal and don't feel it's good business to charge a guest that's been staying at a lower negotiated rate for nearly two weeks a regular rate. As someone who regularly post both positive and negative reviews, in the end I hope the additional $35-40 they stood to make for the room was worth the one star review.
Regarding your response to my review. Its my understanding a member of management was present at the alleged altercation at the front desk. If it were me as a member of the management team I would seek to mediate and perhaps remedy the situation rather than telling a bunch of obligatory lies in an effort to paint me as an unreasonable customer for anyone that might read my review. I had already contacted corporate this morning and will be doing so again to elevate a complaint at this point.
FYI I chose to decline your offer so I could voice my opinion on yet another online review platform.
Remodel looked like it was done by someone off the street that didn't really know what they were doing. Upon arrival no one at the front desk (short staffed). Another hotel guest was complaining of no hot water. Owner said he'd send someone in 5-minutes. Guest said he already heard that 3-times and wasn't going anywhere until problem was resolved. Gnats were flying around the juice area in continental breakfast area (poor cleaning/sanitation). Came back o e evening to find hotel air conditioning had been down and it was ungodly hot. Room service didn't vacuum our room. Sink was dirty. Air unit leaked water onto carpet floor. I definitely will not stay here again!
Hotel is a mess. Walked in and the building was pretty much falling apart. The ceiling was leaking and pieces of the ceiling were on the floor. We were told that there was a pool but no where did it say pool was out of service on the website. Got there and pool was drained and not working, at least that's what they told us. The whole first floor smelled of cigarettes. The hallways are filled with trash. Literally old food, cigarette boxes, dust, etc just laying on the side of the hallway. We were told to check in at 3. We were running late so we got there at 4 and they didn't even have our rooms ready for us. The rooms were pretty bad also. Bed sheets had nail polish stains, sweat stains and pretty sure some we're blood stains. Found used water bottles in the fridge. Door handles were broken on the bathroom doors. A friend was almost locked in because of that. The windows had dead bugs everywhere. The sinks were leaking constantly. We were only provided with 2 rolls of toilet paper. Not refilled even once. When we layed on the beds they were sticky for some reason. T.V s look good at first but are terrible quality. Our key cards didn't work sometimes. Couldn't access the building on one side. The doors were literally always open on the other side because someone had put a rock to keep it open. Breakfast is a joke. Selection is limited. Quality is beyond low. Would never stay here again. We knew it was a cheap hotel but we did not think it would be this bad.
This hotel looked great from the outside. A cockroach greeted us in our room! We squashed it and hoped it was just one. The fixtures fall off the walls, there's mold around the shower. On the positive side, the shower was nice (good pulse, showerhead at a decent height). I would only recommend to avoid the high hotel prices in other parts of the Chicago area.
The hotel is a 5 in my book. Everything I need for a nice place to stay for business. Minus 2 stars for them promoting a "order inn" menu. First of all it takes forever. 1 1:2 hours to be exact. Secondly the food is not worth the wait. Had to remove the bread from the chicken sandwich because it was so hard. Plus I've never seen a chicken breast so thin in my life. Like trying to bite through diamonds with lead teeth. Could of just ate my left over food from my lunch box and been happier than spending $29 including tip. Hotel nice but my rating is literally due to a bad taste in my mouth.
booked ahead, took 3 tries to get us in a room. 1st room no water, 2nd room hadn't been cleaned since last guest. All of this meant running up and down the stairs because the elevator was broken. After all the trouble the desk clerk said she would upgrade us to a jacuzzi room. Nice thought but the jacuzzi was also broken. One positive was that the lady at the desk was very nice.
It needs a lot of work before it's considered a good, respectable, Hall. I believe it's fairly priced and gets the job done.
Thank you Armada Management. We have our regional meeting at this hotel for three days. The service we recieved were excellent surpassed our expectations, snacks during the meeting break were good, rooms were very cleaned. At our dinner the food your hotel has served were very delicious, both nights dinners has several different menu.
In summary we are very satisfied and will have our Christmas Party at your hotel which we already booked. Paul Brown. "Regional Sales Manager"
Just keep telling yourself "It's cheap."
We stayed here because we wanted somewhere really affordable while taking our sons on a birthday trip. And it is! Really affordable, that is. But we might as well have stayed at a cheap motel and paid even less because this place is pretty low.
The pool has been "under construction" for 2 years+ but the building permit posted on the door has expired, and the place looks like it's constantly undergoing maintenance but with no visible improvements.
The room was booked for 2 adults and 2 children, but when arrived, there was one towel, one hand towel, and one wash cloth. We tried to call down to the desk to ask for more but the phone in our room doesn't work. The second day, housekeeping took our used towels, hand towel and wash cloth, but then never replaced them, so I came back to find 2 measly towels, but no hand towel and no wash cloth, and when my husband went to the desk to politely request more, the attendant rudely treated him like he was trying to scam her.
They also never replaced the used in-room single coffee for the coffee maker, which means I have to hope the coffee pot at the horrible (cheap, carb-filled, sugary, fruit-and-meat-less) breakfast this morning isn't empty like it was yesterday.
And we're only halfway through our stay.
I'd rate it lower but so far, thank God, no vermin.
Like I said, I was hoping for affordable, but at this point, we could have stayed at a motel and saved more money for the same level of crappy service.
DO NOT STAY HERE! I have never felt compelled to write a bad review but in the interest of public safety I must. A friend graciously booked a hotel for me not knowing how awful this place is! Words cannot describe it. I've been in hotels in third world countries and nothing, literally nothing was as bad as this!
This place should shut down and be razed to the ground. The only positive I can say is that I didn't get bedbugs! Pretty low threshold I know.
You can't take pictures of the smell but whatever had been cooked earlier had gone to seed. The smell was overpowering. They say they are "under remodeling" but their permit ran out in December and people who posted one and two years ago also said they were under remodeling!
Carpets were torn off and trash piled in the hallways not to mention all of the filth and dust! I found two hairs on my bed and wondered when or if the sheets had been changed! They told me the pool was under repair but hadn't passed inspection but some of the paper covering the window was torn away and you could see the pool was filled with trash!
Don't give this place another dime. Mercifully, for the sake of other unsuspecting victims, let it close! I am so grateful I didn't bring my wife and children. I "upgraded" to a "remodeled" room that had a tube TV and old replaced parts thrown in the closet.
I hope my pictures uploaded. Please know it is worse than even the worst review is saying. I had hoped maybe it would be better than others had commented, I was sorely mistaken. It is like the set of a bad comedy except what you see aren't props!
Just know, you've been warned.
