Although, there are many home builders within the Waunakee and Madison area to choose from, we are proud to say that our home was built by Premier Builders. Kevin, the owner and his team were great to work with from start to finish. No matter the question, request, last minute change in plan/design during the building process, Premier took care of us every step of the way! Even now, several months after our house has been completed, their responsiveness has been wonderful and on point. The overall building process can be stressful at times, but Kevin and our designer Barb, were always there to guide, tackle any issue, and provide answers and reassurance to help us move forward. We LOVE our beautiful home, it was completed within the timeframe we were given initially, and most importantly, we are so pleased with the skill and craftsmanship throughout! Should we consider building again in the future; Premier Builders will be our first call. –Teo & Rose

We just finished building a home with Premier in August and we could not be more pleased with the whole experience of working with them. The level of quality that they delivered on the home, how nice they were to us, how honest they were and the level of integrity displayed by the entire team were so impressive. At every stage, Kevin bent over backwards to make sure we were completely happy, and his son Clayton has done the same in the warranty period now that we are in the home. They are more than fair and have advocated for us every step of the way! We have high standards and a high level of attention to detail (as do I imagine most people who build custom homes) and yet this has never bothered them, they never made us feel like any request is unreasonable, and they consistently exceeded our expectations. Barb Darger, our designer, was so patient and so wonderful to work with. We highly recommend her! Their many years in business and the sheer number of homes they have built speak for themselves. As one subcontractor remarked to us early in the process: "Kevin Acker and Premier have a sterling reputation." We would absolutely build with Premier again!

We purchased a Premier home and have been incredibly happy with the quality of construction and details Kevin and his team pay attention to during the build. Our home is very livable and we love raising our family in this home. Premier has always very responsive and helpful - even after we moved in. We would absolutely build with Premier in the future.

We select Premier Builders to build our new house. They did an excellent job and no question was to small for them to take care of. My wife to this day constantly reminds my how much she loves our house even after 10 year.

Just had an overall great experience with Premier and their teams of people. They worked through every request we made along the way and kept the completion date no matter what came up. The most important thing, we are now in our house 12+ years later and we still love our home.

Kevin and his team did a good job building our house. Unfortunateley we paid him in full without everything being done . Getting them to finish all the punch list items had me chasing 4 different people with little results. In the end we got stuck with about $3,000 and a complete refusal to answer phone calls or emails. Don't complete payment with them until everything is completed.

I should begin by stating I am not an easy person to please. When I enter into business with another party I expect them to act in my best interests and deliver a quality finished product while providing attentive customer service along the way. In the end, that is exactly what I got from Premier Builders in Waunakee, Wisconsin.
When my wife Tammy and I began our quest to build our dream home, we evaluated a number of different builders. We were impressed by some, and not so impressed by others. When it came time to choose, it was a pretty simple choice - we chose Premier Builders. Here's why:
1. In-house quality drafting services provided at no cost.
2. In-house design center and staff to help with home finishes.
3. An entire staff of dedicated professionals to help with the project.
4. A long list of glowing references from prior Premier Builder customers.
5. Cost per square foot was lower (and guaranteed with no surprises!) then the competition.
6. Kevin and staff were passionate about making our dream come true, not promoting the companies agenda or trying to up sell us on things we didn't want or need.
7. Quality prior work. We inspected a number of Premier's previously built homes and talked with many of the owners. We were amazed Premier could provide such quality at such a reasonable cost.
8. Salesmanship. I admit it, you can't help but like everyone in that office. I find all of the Acker's to be absolutely wonderful people. Kevin and Jeanette are no exception.
9. Solid subcontractors.
After choosing Premier, we worked with the draftsperson to draw up the plans for our custom home. I was amazed how fantastic they turned out, how smoothly the process was, and how quickly they were completed. I appreciated how both the drafter and Kevin (the business president) offered their suggestions and ideas rather then just blindly following our initial plan.
Following completion of the plans, the contract was drawn up, we reviewed it, asked questions, and signed. I'd be remiss if I didn't say the contract format could be improved a bit, but in the end it all made sense.
Construction was soon underway! With a project this substantial along with this being a first time custom home, there were a few bumps along the way. And quite honestly that should be expected. What wasn't expected was how Premier quickly and effectively addressed ALL the issues without a single complaint or pushback. All I heard was a 'we will take care of it', and indeed they did. In my mind, that showed the high character of the company.
Additionally any change orders along the way were documented and signed - no surprises.
When the home was finished it was beautiful! And two years later it is still beautiful!

We highly recommend Premier Builders to build your new home. We had a great experience working with their entire team and great group of contractors. Our house was completed on time and on budget. The process Premier uses in determining allowances worked out perfectly, such that there were very few surprises when the final work was completed. The designer we worked with was amazing and super responsive to any questions we had throughout the process. The project managers are top notch, and took care of any questions and concerns we had on site as the house was being built. The contractors Premier used on our project did excellent work and communicated effectively with us when necessary. Definitely give Premier a call if you are looking to build a high quality new home.

I have built several homes myself, but with the change in the economy it made sense to look at having a professional build my latest home. I contacted Kevin as I have admired his work over the last several years. Kevin has built more homes in my neighborhood than anybody else. He builds them quickly and well.
I was very surprised when Kevin returned his bid to me. His quote was not much different than what it would have cost me to build a home myself! His pricing was fair and he uses quality vendors. His office staff was wonderful, keeping everything organized and helping with design decisions. The home was built in less than 100 days and he follows up - standing behind his work even after completion!
I am ecstatic with the home Premier built and would recommend Kevin to anybody! He is a true Professional, and a good honest guy.response / report this review
