It's a little bit of a drive from ATL but if you love wiring roads with your hikes this is the place to visit! The hike to Preachers rock is a bit short but you can always keep going on the Appalachian Trail all the way to Maine!

The view is beautiful but the path to get into this is very difficult as we are doing hiking for first time. The pathway is in dense forest and gets steep when you reach close to rock. It took us 30 mins to reach up. We went on Saturday 6 PM to woody Gap and from there it’s 1 mile hike. There is plenty of parking.

A nice overlook on a spacious rock with views of the surrounding mountains and beautiful pink and blue hues at sunset. It's about a mile from the Woody Gap parking area and continues on eventually to Blood Mountain.

It's a lovely two mile (one mile out and one mile back) hike with amazing Eastern views! The photos don't do the view any justice. The trail is pretty easy until the last quarter mile when it gets steeper, but it's still manageable!

We did the hike with our kids, ages 7-13. The hike is a bit more difficult than an easy walking path with some twist and moderately challenging inclines. Not a hike for strollers. The view was definitely worth the effort. We made two minor stops on the hike up to rest and get our legs rested but overall the 1.5 mile hike took about 45 minutes up. Breath taking views of the rolling foothills covered with trees. Would definitely recommend along with multiple other trails available in the area.
Recommend taking water, some snacks, and hiking sticks.response / report this review
