This has been a favorite of mine since the early 90s. Unfortunately the change came with new menu items and a loss of favored ones. The service has also under gone a change and not for the better. The last several experiences have been mediocre at best. We were brought food they thought we would want because they ran out of what we ordered. Please don't assume I want something else without asking first. Also, the green pepper you can order with your customized burritos was the size of the burrito. I assumed it would be sauteed, not raw... my fault for assumming.
Update 4/16/18
We thought we would give it another try considering Leon's brought back old menu items from Ponchos. Big mistake. The chili cheese burritos are half the size and not made close to being the same as before. Plus the prices are higher. Shame on you for giving people hope for old items and then serving this.
I have eaten there several times since it has changed to Leon,s the waitress was just as good as ever .I have eaten several different items most were really good some were not but it is no different than any other place i have eaten.Iam really glad they are back open and i wish the whole staff the best .🤗😀
This is not a Poncho's any longer. The new name is Leon's. They have new owners, menu, and have remodeled the inside. It has a home style menu, and a comfortable atmosphere. The food is slightly above average depending on what you choose to order. However I'm a bit picky on what I eat. Try for yourself, I think you will like it better than the old Poncho's.
This is called Leon's now! Had the tenderloin, wife had a burger. Both were very Good! The best part here is the price.. great food at an even greater price.
Good home style food. Had to wait a bit but, it was because the restaurant was standing room only. Servers were busy hustling from table to table. Owners and staff were very friendly. Chicken sandwich was huge. Excited to try more from their menu. Good sized portions for all the items we ordered. Restaurant was clean and tidy. Food was hot and fresh.
Good good. Great prices. Great service.
If I could give this place half a star I would, we had 4 dinners and none of them were any good. The shrimp tacos were flavorless and made with salad shrimp I even found a price of burnt bacon in one, the hard tacos had barley any meat and no cheese, the rice was horrible and the beans were horrendous. The only thing with flavor was the cheese dip.
Great food and service! An Ottawa Dining Institution! Chips and cheese are MANDATORY!
Great quality food for a reasonable price
This was the most Americanized Mexican food I have ever tried. It in no way satisfied my craving for Mexican food. Friendly staff and quiet atmosphere, but in no way other than in name is this Mexican food.
Good service, friendly people, great Americanized Mexican food !
I've been going to Ponchos since I was in 8th grade. I have so many memories from there. It's the only place I can get a Monterrey and I love their mild sauce.
I loved this place as a kid and so I had to bring my kids to try it. Sadly the food wasn't as good as I remembered and none of us finished our meals. I will always have fond memories of this place but I will not be going back.
Good service, friendly people, great Americanized Mexican food !
Fast and delicious food. Friendly staff.
If you're looking for real authentic Mexican food don't eat here, food was bland, food was out fast, refried beans were cold the cheese didn't even melt.
The service was great, the food hot and tasty, and the waitress was so nice when my toddler spilled salsa on the ground.
