I was excited to try this restaurant tomorrow and had a reservation through Open Table, but then a friend of mine told me the chef was participating in an event in Tel Aviv that 4 million Palestinians are excluded from. I don't want to support a restaurant that doesn't support equality. I couldn't reach the restaurant by phone to explain my position so I just cancelled my reservation. I hope the Pok Pok chef cancels his participation in the Round Tables event like other chefs are doing when they realize they are being used to make Israel look like it's a civilized country when occupying another people is anything but civilized. If he cancels, I'll be very excited to try this restaurant. It looks great.

This was my third visit to Pok Pok, and I still haven't had the same thing twice. This place isn't the takeout Thai that you may be used to, and isn't for the faint of heart. Everything is, fresh, authentic, and unique. The cocktails are great, and I love the house made drinking vinegars, which are a refreshing change from the boring sugary mixers you're used to. The interior feels like a movie set, and the decor is fun and interesting without being kitschy. They have a hidden patio, which provides a great quiet outdoor space when the weather is nice. It's a busy place, but a must-try destination for those in search of amazing, authentic Thai cuisine.

Delicious and authentic Thai food. Good options for vegetarians and very cool drinks. Definitely get the papaya salad.

Beyond "Pad Thai" norms. Pok Pok specializes distinctly in Northern Thai cuisine, which is an absolute delight. Simple fare of unknown dishes are comforting yet intriguing. The staff is a treat with their knowledge and descriptions of various cocktails.

This rating is solely based on their chicken wings. Hands down some of the best wings I've ever had. The rest of the food is really good as well. The only thing I've eaten that I didn't care from this team is the fried anchovies but that might have been at their sister bar whiskey soda

Very unique Thai food, unlike any I've had before. Very tasty with a few so-so. We had the wings and ribs as well as duck salad and salt crusted whole fish. All were delicious and very spicy. They will adjust heat on some dishes upon request.

The food here is amazing. It is so unique and definitely not what I have come to typically know as Thai food in the US. This is not the take out pad thai and green curry that is so common in Thai restaurants. The food is fresh and interesting. It's heavily spiced and fantastic food to drink with in my opinion! Nothing is better than the spicy ground pork salad or boar collar with a few beers.
Although the food has been great, we have been here twice and the service was very inconsistent. We sat at the bar both times. The first visit the bartender was helpful, friendly, and super attentive. The second time we were actually pretty disappointed by the bartender. On this visit not only did we need to basically flag them down for another drink, but they seemed unclear about what was in some of the cocktails. Pretty disappointing.
I would definitely recommend Pok Pok, with the caveat about this inconsistent service.response / report this review -

Party of 1, I had to wait 1 hour for seating, understandable being it has such good ratings. Then I was seated. I had to wait 1hr 45mins longer for one dish while the couple next to me received a variety of dishes before me when we ordered nearly the same time. I got the, what seemed like, green curry with vermecilli noodles and fish balls. It was very disappointing, boring, and lacking. this is the best of New York? What a freaking joke.
The waiter and staff was nice but if that's all your going for, This is the place for you. Step up your game New York. I'm so upset I waited 3 hours for this. Now I'm gonna go across the street to wash out this experience with fried chicken.response / report this review -

Wow! Andy Ricker's recommendations, sourced from old interviews, turned into our unofficial culinary guide through northern Thailand a few months back. It seemed only fitting to check out Pok Pok on our way through NYC. Aside from a two hour wait, nothing about Pok Pok disappoints. The food is fantastic and comes as close as I could imagine to nailing the flavors we experienced in northern Thailand. The menu could certainly come off as intimidating to the uninitiated diner looking for the safety of pad thai but everything on there seems to be worth exploring. We will definitely be back!

Delicious! We had our Birthday dinner celebration here. We spent about $200 here for six people. Thai food is usually served with strong flavor. I like their sticky rice, with a weaved basket preserving the heat. It is a family style restaurant, being not fancy.

You can order your spices on the side and add them to your liking. We ordered the chicken wings and boar collar, both were fantastic. The boar collar is spicy so I recommend getting the sauce on the side. The bartender, Angel, was very knowledgeable. Even the water tastes great! They infuse their water with pandal leaf, which gives it a nutty flavor.
