3 pens each have water and pickup bags. The park was an Eagle project for a local Boy Scout! Been taking our dogs there for about a year! The option of pens is great if you have a nervous feeling about other dogs.

Great first experience, only 4 stars because the trails are too short and not in a loop to easily do a 5k. It was near sunset so we only did the Sandy Beach trail, I'll come back to review the other trail as it was getting dark. The trail/park is open dawn to dusk.

The sandy beach area is where you can take your dog to go swimming, in the Rivanna river love that. Only concern is the cleanliness of that River, as we were in Tenn and was near a fast moving part of the Nolichucky river so it was a great swimming hole for the locals and our pup loved swimming in the current. Having moving water is always better, I did notice the water moving a bit so that's good it wasn't stagnant.

From my understanding, a Charlotteville vet said she's had dogs with skin infections from the river, be sure you bathe your dog when you get home as they can get staph infections and/or other water illnesses, like Leptospirosis. We moved from Florida and the vet there said if we're near water we should always vaccinate our dog for that.

There are 20 stations to stretch/work out while walking or running but would have been better if it were a loop to be able to at least get a 5k in. Seems like many of the trails are very short around here. All-in-all, the area is well kept, 2 pavillion and water and restroom. The enclosed fenced area is very large to have your dog run freeeeeee. We'll be back.

Parking was easy, even though the lot was a almost full, there's lots of space for you and your dog to play. Some dogs were off leash, outside of the fenced dog park area, so I was a bit concerned for my 1-yr old golden cause I didn't think that was allowed, even when people know how their pet "normally" acts, you just don't know. My dog's still a bit she with strange dogs as all dogs are not friendly. We brought our own water as I didn't notice any water fountains but I saw a water faucet by one of the pavillions and I think there are bathrooms.

3 different pens for your dogs. It's a nice place to go to get energy out of my pups.

Nice place to bring your dog to run. Plenty of area and not many other dogs. You can bring your dog(s) on the trails and down to the beach on the Rivanna river also. Just clean up after the dog. Not sure about the rule of dogs on a lease but I've seen them off the lease.

Great trails, from beginner to moderate. Hike to the river and swim, or hike heritage trail for a bit of a push. Huge, beautiful, well kept, low traffic. Highly recommend!

Trail to the river with a nice size gravel path. Good place to let your dog play off lead in the fenced area. Also a great swimming hole for the family.

Nice, wide-open, fenced-in dog park that occasionally has other dogs (and snakes). It's a few minutes walk from pleasant groove trails and Sandy Beach, which can be a fun place to let an obedient dog off leash (I would only recommend doing that if there aren't any fishermen, or people trying to relax. The dog park also has a water pump and kiddie pool. If you walk around carefully you are sure to find a number of tennis balls to throw to your pooch, or you can sit back on a bench and watch your dog figure out where to dip theirscent.
