Limited parking available on weekends so go early - but overflow parking isn't that bad, as you can just take a shuttle from there. Gorgeous hikes - caves, reservoirs, rocky peaks. Amazing to see endangered California condors up close if you're lucky. A great national park.

Beautiful, hidden area of California. Amazing to see California condors flying free. Such diverse ecosystems throughout the park. The campground is a little crowded, but nice and there are no other camping areas nearby. We stayed 2 days and could have stayed one more.

Beautiful and varied landscape. Rock spires, caves, California condors. The camp ground (with drive up tent, group, and RV) is great but watch out for the very aggressive raccoons (bear boxes are provided to store food). Take the high peaks trail, it is step and narrow, but worth it. Both sets of caves are interesting, Bear Gulch being very accessible for families with small children--but bring flashlights.

The park was not crowded which is so refreshing. Parking was easy to find close to the park. The visitor center had bathrooms and a place to fill water .we entered through the West entrance and learned the road doesn't connect to the two visitor centers. The trails do loop. One of the longest loops is around 8 miles. At the trail head there are Portable bathrooms and stations for washing hands. Located on the west side are picnic tables. The trail is a moderate hike. There are tunnels that enter caves. Highly recommend flashlights and or headlamps. There was water and mud when we went. There were lots of birds on the trail, great for those who seek variety in bird watching.

This park was absolutely beautiful! I loved how small it was, yet there was such a big variety of ecosystems within the park! The trails were marked pretty well, and they were all in great condition. The scenery outside of the park was also beautiful! It felt just like a drive through the countryside with all of the cows!

Very nice park! It is a national park, but it doesn't have the touristy vibe you get from crowded places like Yosemite valley. During the winter, the park is great for hikes given the cooler temps.

This NP is a treasure. Just driving through the campground, I saw turkeys, deer, quail and rabbit. Wonderful trees and not crowded sites. Very peaceful. Staff is great too and restrooms are clean.

We had fun hiking here with a 2-year old toddler. We did the balconies cave which is 1.7 mile and took us about 2 hours 😁 hiking without kids should be quicker though. It's a great place for family, to stop and bond and just be one with the nature. We've been here 4 times already and I recommend coming here during spring time and fall. Summer time can just get really hot, but it should not be a problem for adult hikers.

Wonderful national Park to visit in spring and winter offering lots of activities including hiking, climbing and 2 talus caves too. Park wildlife is unique. Camp sites, especially in loop C are almost like private sites, since there are bushes separating each sites. Lots of space to pitch tents and enjoy a nice evening in the park.

This small park is a well hidden secret. The hikes are moderate and beautiful, the scenery surprisingly dramatic. Huge cliffs and large rock formations are breathtaking, the Balconies Cave is dark, narrow and in part quite adventures. There you even need a flashlight or a phone search light to find your way. Back in daylight the colors of trees and rocks are even more vibrant. A great nature experience!

This was a great, close detour from the highway. The caves were much more interesting than I thought they would be. Note- you really do need a flashlight. Phone flashlight will work- you only need the light for 5 minutes, but there is a section that is pitch dark.

Smaller national park with limited services. Still a great place to hike and enjoy the talus caves. Bring everything you think you will need (water and food), and a *real* flashlight if you are going into the caves.

Beautiful park. The bear gulch cave is very cool and kids friendly. The reservoir is beautiful too. However, other than the cave, most of the trails is very expose and very hot out there. Bring at least 1 liter of water per hour if you plan to hike during this summer time.

If you have time to stop and take in a hike or two on the way to something else, this park is great. If you are planning to make it your final destination, keep in mind that there isn't much to do-- a few hikes, some bird watching, and if the season is right, wild flowers. We thought two night would be just right, because we are avid hikers. It was too much time.

Great place to hike but watch the weather. No place to hide in storms or during heat waves. Best when cool outside. Amazing views and great hikes.
