The search is over. New ownership is killing it. The pizzas among other things are delicious. We had a blast here and I can't wait until we're back.
Nicest people in Three Lakes! Great pizza great appetizers great drinks, games music fun fireplace 4 boat docks sand volleyball bonfires outdoor cookouts right on the snowmobile trail! This is a Must Go!
Beyond excellent. New ownership has it together and this is officially the spot to be in this part of the state (let alone the chain)! The pizza is homemade and unbeatableand the rest of the menu is top notch. Frankly shocked to find such a gem, you can't beat it!
Delicious homemade pizza and walleye fish fry! Family friendly, great service, beautiful location. Can't wait to visit again!!
I'm really hoping the new owners turn this place around. Homemade pizza is excellent but there isn't much more food on the menu at the moment. For a quick meal this place is great
Awesome food, drinks, & atmosphere! Owners go out of their way to guarantee a great time. One of our favorite stops up north!
Each year we make a couple visits to Pine Isle and it keeps getting worse.
My Family and I stopped in on a Sunday last summer to grab some lunch before heading back home. We parked our boat and went up to sit at the picnic tables out side. They only allow outdoor dining on the right side of the property. All of those tables were filled. We asked if we could at least get an appetizer while we waited and we were told no. The staff told us we need to wait for a table to open up or we can go inside and eat. I went inside to get a drink and there were no customers inside. It made no sense that they would not serve us outside. We decided to take our business elsewhere.
I would not recommend this place for dining. If you are going to the Pine Isle, only go there for drinks and if you go for drinks, do not expect a server to bring them to you.
I wish this place could get it's act together. It has so much potential, it's the only one like it on the chain.
Well, just when you think it cannot get any worse.it has!
So, I have been to the NEW Pine Isle about 4-5 times this year.wait4 times and one more time for about 5 minutes. Anyway, the reason we go there is not for the food because it sucks. You would have thought with new management/owner that they would have improved the food but nope! Not one bit! Now, I will give the new owner kudos on getting new docks. That was a great first stepbut it ends there.
So, if the food sucks why go back 4-5 times? Well, it is a convenience factor. Since the Pine Isle basically has a monopoly for on the water restaurants/bars, it make them basically the only option on the Three Lakes chain. Sure you have Sunset Grille on the water and also a few other places within walking distance of the water but the honest to god only place to pull you boat up grab a bite and a drink is Pine Isle.
Sowith that you would think the Pine Isle would be a gold mine. Wellnot sure that is the case.
In the 4-5 times this year the food and service has sucked. Do not even get me started on the square cheese curds that taste nothing like a cheese curd. We stopped in for dinner one night and wanted to sit outside. NOPE! No food service outside for dinner. Really? YOU ARE ON THE WATER! Why would you stop food service outside on a beautiful day? Well, we found out why when we went inside to eat and it took 1.5 hours to get our food. ONE server for the entire restaurant. ONE! Seriously? I know their is a service shortage in the north woods but ONE server? Holy lord.
Well, that night we had our food (they were out of half the items on the menu) and most of our group left never wanting to come back.
Fast forward to a recent weekend. My wife, daughter and I stopped into the Pine Isle for lunch. It was a beautiful day around 12:15 PM and we were the only boat at the docks. Please note it is 12:15 and we are the only boat. Heck, we were the only people there besides the bartender and servermaybe a cook.
So while I got the boat tied up my wife went up and grabbed a table in the sun since it was a gorgeous day. The server came out with a sign and a marker and made a sign saying Drinks (to the left) & Dining (to the right). Wait.we cannot get food service at the table we chose, we have to sit at the tables on the right in the shade to get service? YES and not only that, we cannot order from the bar and sit at the table in the sun either. WTF?
Rememberwe are the ONLY PEOPLE THERE! Also the server never even came up to us to explain the situation. Just made her sign and went along her way. When confronted she told us "thats the policy." So the policy is to tell family that comes in almost every weekend that we have to sit in the cold, shaded, and bug infested area to eat crappy food? No thank you.
If the place was booming, i might have understood but it was noon on a Saturday and you were dead and the reason is clearthe combo of bad food with even worse service.
It is funny because last weekend we went and ate lunch at Sunset grille and they were slammed packed because they have good food and great service. On our ride over there we looked at Pine Isle and they had 1 boat parked there. Makes you laugh.
Sorry Pine Isle. Until you get your 5th owner in the last 5 years you have lost our weekly business. Such a shame because it could be such a great place.
A gold mine in the making.
Used to be one of my favorite places to eat, but the last two times we were there it has gone downhill. One bartender that was swamped (other employees walking around or standing behind the bar talking to friends). Out of chicken (wife likes their chicken wrap). Ordered burger with sweet potato fries that were both over cooked. Hope we have just caught them at a bad time.
